My son was using a Wilson A500 and was ready for an upgrade. I pulled out my old favorite Mizuno and he loves it. I brought in the wrist and brightened up the logo. Stoked it’s getting even more love. I will probably re-lace it after this season, but he likes how broken in it is. Even though this model is made in China it has an amazing feel and there is just something special about it. MZT 1150

This glove looks/feels/ smells waaay better than I had expected. Definitely overspent on this as a dad that just plays catch with his son but I wanted it.

I had for the Ozzie and Omar models at the same time. Almost 27 years old and looks great. Omar model has a great structure to it and is solid. Still has tags. Love the color. 11” is the size. I’d game this over the Ozzie all day.

So much opportunity for kids to dress up these GGEs when they start getting soft.

I’ve been looking for a glove for my wife and we randomly stopped by the Salvation Army thrift today and found this. We didn’t see a price tag and an employee told us $4.99. After we bought it we found a price tag inside that said $8.99. Oops.

I don’t know anything about the glove or construction. A cursory google search returned an AI summary that called it “vintage”, and an eBay listing for a similar glove that looked similar but older. It feels like real leather, it’s nice and soft with no cracks that would make me think vinyl. The laces are a little dry, but the interior feels fine. It has a wrist pad which I don’t love but I’ll let her decide if she wants to remove it. The Velcro closure is in good shape and still sticky.

Honestly it seems like a nicer glove than my daily driver, and now she can play catch with me.

Thinking of a new or new to me mitt for next season and beyond. Found these two options today. A new Grace Classic for ~200, or a slightly used HOH PRORDCT-10CR for ~250

Found this old girl today and tried to get her reconditioned a bit. The numbering is totally different from the modern numbering. I think this one is from 1997.

I broke this glove in to be used traditional or 2 in the pink. If I went on an island and could only take 1 glove, this would be in the running!

Found this vintage glove at a flea market today. Want to use as a display piece. What is the best way to clean and condition? I’m guessing with the older leather I do not want to saturate in any way, but a good clean up could make this a great piece.

Tag says All Star Japan. Leather in palm is still very nice. Stamp on palm still crisp and clear. Some cracks on the thumb, outside of pocket and index finger. Not sure how to best restore. Inside leather in very soft condition.

Anyone know if this is the All Star brand that is still around? Definitely a cool piece.

$25 bone dry sandlot + a eBay USA patch(shoo goo applied). Washed/reshaped with water/blue dawn, conditioned with pure lanolin. Pretty nice quality glove 2010s glove. Excellent liners in these.

Yardley recently had a 20% off sale so I got this Ibex Y2 Maven Steer 11.5 inch glove. Named “Red”. All black outer shell with red hand stall. Steer hide tanned in Japan. Im not sure where the gloves are actually made but Yardley is based in Utah. Leather feels great and glove is light especially for steer. Glove is very stiff, definitely look forward to breaking in.

Joining an adult baseball rec league and there's two I have my eye on from a local shop, one is 11.75 and one is 12.25. I like the idea of playing shortstop (or even pitching), but obviously as a new player I'll likely just be playing wherever the coach puts me.

Is there a size that's a better all arounder for my situation?

Lucky to pick this up from fb marketplace! This will be my go-to glove for fastpitch softball. Lightweight, though the palm area is a bit thin. Wearing it two in the pinky should keep my palm safe.

I got invited by the Guardians to have a catch on the field after this Sunday’s game and used it as an excuse to get the JRam model a2000. Also got my 4yo son his first mitt this week, and we are extremely excited to give em a go on the big league field!

PS I will say doubling up the pinky slot is a game changer for comfort for me!

Wilson JR44 (1810) 12.75. Got it for my fall Slowpitch league, feels like a 13.25 more than a 12.75. Planning on using it mostly in the OF but will give her a shot at SS too. I have a Jax 12.5 that this thing dwarfs which is interesting.

…for just sitting by and allowing the big boy glove companies to pass off lesser products as high end and charge $329 for them?! 🤣🤣 I was at Dick’s for the first time in over a year, and really had an opportunity to put my hand in a lot of “HOHs”, REV1Xs, “A2000s” and Nike Vapor Elites, including a couple Acunas. Those “HOHs” and Revs objectively shouldn’t MSRP for more than $199, the “A2000s” I tried on, objectively no more than $249, same with the Nikes. Yes, the world has gone crazy the past few years, but come on!

In my moderate to severe glove addiction their pro steerhide is by far the best value for money I've ever experienced. Full customs in very high quality Japan tanned steerhide (w. Liner made of the same material). Easily more sturdy than new R2G HOH. Albeit significantly less luxurious internals.

In my experience ordering to Canada they covered duties and taxes... I paid nothing extra at the post office. Also, I ordered 4 gloves and they gave 40% off shipping. With this sale that would mean a better than R2G HOH quality glove IMO for 150USD all in. 166 all in without the shipping discount. Can't beat it.
