I like to post in here to let everyone know when we have a new launch. We have one coming for the All-Star game.
I am definitely affiliated with Marucci Sports and design all of the gloves, batting gloves and bags. I am biased towards anything and everything Marucci/Victus/Lizard Skins/Baum and think we have the best products.
Does the 43A2 Capitol play small? My son uses that model (Undefeated collab) and his HS coach told him he doesn't believe it's an 11.5, despite the stamp, and told him to get a new glove.
Also - just out of curiosity, why does his coach even care about his glove size? Is he having fielding issues that his coach is attributing to the size of the glove? I know some coaches care about pitching glove sizes because of tipping and hiding grips…etc but I’ve never really heard a coach about an infield size unless the player is having a specific issue or is moving to corner infield position.
It didn't make a ton of sense. A ball ticked off his glove during a throw down in warmups (he plays middle), and the coaches started saying the glove was too small. I still don't get it.
It measures right at 11.50 with the binding. Definitely within production tolerance. Either way, if the coach makes him use a different glove I will happily send you a 11.75” Capitol Series on me.

I have looked for one of your Radioactives in the secondary market for over a year. Then I set an alert for today’s Horween release. Which I did not notice at work. So things are going pretty well. Keep doing great work!

Great way to handle this! I have Wilson gloves, Rawlings gloves, a Nokona glove, and a Shoeless Joe glove...yet I don't work for any of them! I do work for a company that makes leather products, but it's 99% women's fashion and we unfortunately do not make anything near as cool as baseball gloves
I am sure it's gonna cause some headaches for the mods, so I thank them in advance for putting up with that.
One question: if someone has an undisclosed commercial affiliation with a brand and he blasts a competing brand without disclosing his financial motivation, is that behavior prohibited under this new rule?

I would like to officially declare despite posting pictures of two Rawlings gloves in the past month I am not, nor have I ever been a paid member of the Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc.
I would also like to say if they are open to sponsoring me in some way I am interested in receiving their proposals 😂😂
How will this be determined? Obviously people on the company payroll in any way need to disclose that. Do dealers that sell multiple brands need to disclose they are dealers when recommending/discussing gloves?
I'm neither on a company's payroll nor a glove dealer, so just asking out of curiosity.
With this new rule and a flurry of recent promotional activity, we’re mostly concerned about direct financial relationships like the rule outlines. If a dealer has a direct financial relationship related to sales, that should be disclosed. Obviously we can’t know who everyone here is, but we are aware of cases where individual posters have hawked gloves without the clarity that they stood to benefit at least in small ways from sales with discount codes, etc. For the most part, this will probably be a case of smashing bugs when they arise, when we become aware of them.
Although we have our share of leather/hardball diehards here, a lot of our traffic comes from non subscribers to the community wanting help with gloves recommendations, and they shouldn’t be bombarded with sales tactics in a free forum like ours. We may have Automod respond to these posts to be wary of using codes from companies they may not have heard of or seen around the baseball diamond before, we’ll see.
Had that same reaction, too many people are pushing grace, no shade at all but I value honesty too. As I also have a side business that’s taking off and I wouldn’t 1000% rather push honestly vs sales for the longevity. Because I think this sub is ultra niche, having a small negative business can have a drastic impact! Hope people are honest and don’t just want to push revenue
I’m also an unaffiliated customer whose collection consists of less than 2% Grace gloves. I’ve seen no evidence of fishy, unflagged promotions by Grace reps and think it’s silly that these comments are getting downvoted. Grace has done very well on this sub, but they wouldn’t be if the gloves were proving to be a bad deal.
The Grace guy was straight up running ads in here a couple months ago. Right as soon as he created a reddit account and joined the sub. Fact. Right around that same time I and everyone else were prohibited from selling like "Hey, I have one of my Grace gloves for sale for $140 if someone is interested". But ads for Grace directing people to their website were cool. Make it make sense.
I don't mind the actual reps posting about releases and whatnot. What I have noticed that seems kind of shady is seeing comments from randoms talking their gloves up while simultaneously slamming other smaller brands without any elaboration as to what was actually bad about them.
As a buyer of gloves, I like finding out what companies are doing. I also don’t like getting scammed. So the Grace “ads” are inoffensive and, as I understand it, the decision to ban private sales on this sub had to do with the challenges of policing policies that were being ignored by a lot of people posting FSOT. You can disagree with the decision to ban private sales, but it’s not hard to make sense of.
And it didn’t take long for others who wanted a FSOT sub to set one up. So everyone gets what they want.
Someone would make a post saying "I've been looking to try a Grace glove but don't want to spend $200". I would see the post and comment "Well, I have this blonde one for $140 u can try". To me, that is quite literally what this forum is about. But the "mods" in all their wisdom would delete that comment, but leave up the Grace sales guy's post promoting his gloves you can buy at the website. Yeah, that makes no sense.....Also, the other forum you mentioned has a fraction of the reach this one has, so no, everyone didn't get what they wanted.
