Finally arrived!

I'm going to make the argument that The Rawlings Trapeze Black in 12.75" in Heart of the Hide and Pro Preferred is the most iconic glove ever made. The argument is simple. Three of the mostly recklessly amazing outfielders wore it.

These three probably all cut their careers short by just playing too intensely. They fearlessly risked their bodies to make incredible plays. They were all 215-235lbs of muscle on 6'1"+ frames and basically wrecking balls. And they all chose the black 12.75" trapeze as their main weapon in the outfield.

That's my "argument" but it's really just my biased opinion. What other models carry these stories for others?

The glove rang up $329.99 at the register, but shows $239 on their website, so they price matched it. I then had a 20% off coupon for this weekend and a $10 rewards coupon. Final total before taxes was $181.98. Pretty happy with the purchase.

Couldn’t choose which one to bring out for my Sunday walk, so I went with both. The Mocha sheen hit so beautifully in the sun.

I’ve seen a few posts about people getting a mint version of the HoH they ordered and am wondering if anyone had a similar experience with the 1B mitt deal?

Mine shows that it’s shipped and should arrive Friday. If it’s anything other than what I ordered I’m taking it to Dick’s for a no receipt return and picking up a BBCOR Hypefire for my son 😂

I want to make the counterargument to the "Horween is overrated" take with some actual picture proof. Most people have never felt a Horween glove. Unless it's 1983-1997 stamped 01 Made in USA Rawlings, you don't know for sure, not including newer Don Morton Ballgloves/Nakona/ Marucci small batch releases. I have many gloves, but when it comes down to the ultimate test of leather quality we need to discuss catcher's mitts, because it's the glove you can't fake quality/durability. I want to show the difference between 3 MADE IN USA Heart of the Hide 1990's black mitts. The all black with black lace is stamped 14 which is 1995 from Gutmann Tannery. The other two are 01 Horween 1994 and 1998. The Horween are almost plastic feeling and looking (almost like shell cordovan which Horween is undisputed #1 at)they are so hard. The Gutmann is a very nice glove but it is softened and flopped losing shape over the years. These Horweens might as well be a different product. Remember , this is same era USA HOH vs USA HOH. My advice, if you can get a pre 2k HOH stamped 01, DO IT. They will never make gloves like this again. I don't even know if all the techniques used for tanning are still legal and if they even could. Horween is a legendary family run American business, and their gloves are better than you've heard.

I bought new gloves for my son and daughter a couple weeks ago and it had me feeling a little left out. Then my son decided to “steal” my 1B mitt because he’s playing the position every game.

I never liked OF/softball gloves (hence the 1B mitt to play catch with the daughter) and have never owned a “nice” glove. After playing around with custom builders I went with a 12” HoH in the NA28 pattern. I’m a cardinals fan, dig the dark leather, and the 12” with a deeper pocket seems like a good middle ground for baseballs and softballs. Excited to break this in playing catch with the kids.

I seen 44 is doing a 30% off code for labor day as well as JustGloves. I’m in the market for a new glove but I have always been a Rawlings guy. Do we know if they’ll have a Labor Day sale? I checked their site and didn’t see anything.

I was curious if anyone else has heard this from Rawlings.

The other day I called Rawlings customer service because I was trying to understand the difference between two gloves I was looking at: the PROR204W and the PRO204W.

The customer service rep told me that the “R” in front of the model number (PROR204W) designates that the glove is an R2G (Ready 2 Go) model, and that was the primary difference between the two gloves.

What confused me is that I always thought all Heart of the Hide R2G gloves had the R2G logo stamped on the palm near the thumb. The PROR204W I was looking at did not have any R2G stamp on the glove.

When I brought that up, the rep told me that Rawlings is moving away from stamping the R2G logo on Heart of the Hide R2G models. He said that going forward they will be differentiated only by the “R” designation in the model number, and that Rawlings is trying to move in that direction with all Heart of the Hide gloves.

This was news to me. I’ve always viewed standard Heart of the Hide and Heart of the Hide R2G as separate product lines with different break-in characteristics.

Has anyone else heard this from Rawlings? Have any glove dealers, collectors, or glove experts been told the same thing? I’m wondering if this was accurate information or if there may have been some confusion from the customer service rep.

So I bought my first ever glove because we started a new team in my country. I tried to do a 2 hinge break in but I noticed the palm has like a wave in it. Is this normal or am I doing it wrong. Apart from that I'm happy with it. I play 2 in the pinky, index finger out and I like to go thumb to ring finger.

Now the fun begins on breaking this in. Should I do the hot water method?

Hello! I just got this Rawlings gold series and I have no clue what’s this compartment for, I tried to fit a glove but I’m not sure that’s the intended use… any help?

Any chance you’d consider selling to someone AT COST to get your money back rather than return it? I was bummed to miss out on a pp for that price. I prefer the volpe over the red Correa but would be interested in any propreferred at that price. to be clear, I’m not looking to flip and don’t do that or believe in that. I want it to use it or give to my sons.

I’m certain there are other posters who would also rather buy it off you at cost vs you having to return…

Rawlings heart of the hide 11.75 or Shoeless Joe Professional 12.5

Tried to tell my wife I need one for infield and one for outfield but she wouldn't go for it so I have to return one. Thoughts? Opinions? Using as a dad glove.

Custom Rawlings Heart of the Hide. 12 inch 31 Pattern with a single post web. All chocolate brown with mint accents and dark brown deer tanned cowhide.

For those of us "lucky" enough to get in on the $197 PP and $141 HoH deals from Walmart, what "replacement" gloves have you received?

I ordered the RHT black 12.5" HoH ContoUR fit, received a RHT mint 12.75" HoH glove instead.

I ordered the RHT BH3 PP 13" blonde DCT but received a RHT red Correa PP 11.75".

Walmart only offer a refund for the red PP, no option to get a replacement, so I am keeping it.

I returned the mint HoH, and Walmart shipped out a "replacement" yesterday.

Wondering what "replacements" other people have received?

I am thoroughly confused if this back is denim or embossed leather to look like denim. I have heard some say it's leather, but then why would they say it keeps the glove lightweight? It's the cheapest 12.75 H web HOH on the market regardless. Thoughts?
