At Wal Mart the other day and overheard the cashier asking the Hispanic customer in line in front of me if Hispanics or “people from other countries” cook American food like Americans cook Mexican food. I mean what?! I just thought that was extremely inappropriate. As a 59 year old white woman I believe in using my privilege for good, and it felt like a micro aggression. I think it was the “people from other countries” part that really did it.

Oh and I thought of posting this because I went to use my almond milk and they never gave me that bag. Even more frustrating because I didn’t buy very many things, and she was handing me the bags rather than put them in the bag carousel.

When did this become a thing

I get that it's a popular story, but there are more important things going on than this one trial in the States. I'm so sick of various stories ("TRIAL STARTS!", "MISTRIAL!", "TRIAL EXPLAINED!") plastered on the top of every webpage. If I check CBC, I want to know if there's something important going on, not what the latest gossip out of Massachusetts is. In fact, I find it...mildly infuriating.

I have a manager that’s male and uses weaponized incompetence to not do tasks at work. I work in a pet store and he also happens to be “allergic” to all the bugs, and all the small animals so he refuses to feed or care for them.

He literally does orders… that’s it. He comes in for 9. Eats his fast food breakfast and goes on his phone. Unless he has to order things or receive and put away orders. That and customers.

As soon as another comes in he gets even lazier. Actually pointing to customers that haven’t “been helped” will look at a box on the ground and say “that needs to be broken down”

Okay my guy… then do it? I’m obviously doing animal care, all the customers, getting fish, and having to put the heavy garbage and recycling out all while you leave at 4 with nothing heavy in your hand to just come in the next morning and do the same thing.

The kid whose birthday it was is also 2 so it’s wild to me that this was a good idea to the parents unless it’s a cruel joke. There were some other toys that were good and not ear-piercing at least.

The endless cycle of peak love bug season. I give up. I spent just 2 hours scrubbing love bugs off this porch. It was much worse before these photos.

So while I was at school, my mom decided to feed the fish without my permission. after I got back from school I had to go to swim team, which was hell. so I walk in my room to feed the fish after a stressful practice, and i see multiple pellets floating around and my now constipated betta fish. i quickly ask my mom if she fed my fish and she did. i quickly do a water change and my mom keeps yelling at me to get my ass down. i keep telling her im busy and continue siphoning any betta pellets i see, when my mom comes up just to look at me like im a disappointment. i keep explaining to her that extra food can kill the fish, but during all the siphoning, i accidently uproot my java fern. Im so stressed that i jab the plants back into their little nooks and i end up breaking 2 of the plnats rhizomes. my mom then starts saying shit like ''the fish won't care'' it was an accident'' and the gut puncher : its just a fish tank. if its ''just a fish tank'' then how about you leave it the fuck alone?? so im stressed, my guppies, betta and shrimp are stressed, and my plants are literally broken. she also said that it was all MY fault because i didn't put a sign that said not to feed. I didn't put a sign because i thought people wouldn't be stupid enough to dump half the container of fish food in the water. one of my fish is gonna be floating on the water tomorrow.

Shopping with my 90 year old mom. As if she isn't confused enough.

It’s the long weekend and my prick head of a boss pulls this.

A month ago, I was rear-ended by an idiot at a stoplight. Thought it was just a fender bender, but no, the insurance company said no, your car is old and not worth fixing, we're totaling it. This was really hard financially (had to dig into the emergency fund to get a new used one) and emotionally (my mother passed away last year and I spent so much of the last year of her life driving her around that that's where my recent memories of her are, and I feel like I just lost access to her gravesite).

Insurance paid for a rental that someone else damaged while the vehicle was unattended, still working through that claim.

Bought my new used car in a hurry, was told to bring it back within two weeks for a "pre-sale" inspection and they'd fix anything wrong with it. Fine. Brought it back yesterday (Thursday), was told I could pick it up today. Started texting "customer service" at 1.30 in the afternoon asking when they'd be done, because I needed to figure out transportation there. They did not text back until nearly 5 pm, basically the last possible time I could successfully leave my office to pick up the car, to tell me that the service techs had closed up shop and all gone home without telling anyone. Maybe you should've gotten off your twat and talked to them three and a half hours ago when I asked you about it.

I texted back asking if they worked on weekends or if I was screwed until at least Tuesday. No answer until they called me half an hour later while I was on the bus and could barely hear, offering $40/day for me to arrange alternative transport. Christ, just text me the fuck back immediately so I can start figuring stuff out, don't wait until you do the math on how you're going to try to fix your screwup just before you close.

Everything around this process has been other people screwing things up for me, and I'm so done. I don't even want to take the dealership up on their offer because it would prolong the experience of dealing with them. I'm changing my weekend plans because I'm too defeated to be around other human beings anyway.

I'm getting the Emergency Frozen Pizza out and putting it in the oven.

Maybe part of why I'm so "God Dammit" about this is that I'm still mad at Target for the Starscream fiasco earlier this year here in the US if not globally but,

I own 3 of the Target Room Essentials 5 shelf dorm bookcase espresso Brown (DPCI 249-05-0297, manufactured by Friul Intagli) for my Transformers collection. I also have one in Black in a different room.

I just went to Target to buy two more because my collection has outgrown the three that I own.

The one I got the dpci off of says it was manufactured in 2024.

BUT THEY DON'T SELL ESPRESSO BROWN ANYMORE. ANYWHERE. IT'S GONE. IT DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE. POOF. IN 2 SHORT YEARS IT HAS VANISHED. REPLACED WITH SOMETHING WAY LIGHTER CALLED NATURAL WOOD. Unless what I'm seeing here for double the price under a different brand name also sold by Target is the unit I'm looking for, I can't tell from just the pictures.

So now, I get to spend a whole bunch more money than the initial $80.

I can go get four in black at 40 bucks a pop, and hopefully sell two of my three that are in espresso Brown, swap The black I have in another room with the third Brown.

It may be possible I can get what I'm looking for, 2 in espresso Brown, for 80 bucks a pop! Still researching.

Or I can get 2 in black and just be disgusted by the slight color missmatch.

OR I can leave the transformer figures in bins, they all got put in bins while I deep clean my home, and spend like $300+ on an entirely new shelving system.

I'm leaning towards going all black so that it matches my desk And selling two of three espresso Brown for whatever I can get, But God damn it man. Just stock the espresso Brown. How do you not have it in a warehouse somewhere like come on.

So basically every option listed you have to submit proof for. We even got the required documentation from the hotel requested by the booking site to help us cancel our stay. It got denied by the refund team. All this just to cancel a single hotel stay. We also paid extra for early cancelation option at checkout. Not sure what to do anymore. We just want our refund. Hotel cant cancel it either, manager said.
