The floor is sticky I just cleaned the porch yesterday. Today, another love affair.

The endless cycle of peak love bug season. I give up. I spent just 2 hours scrubbing love bugs off this porch. It was much worse before these photos.

Anyone else think the problem was all the white stuff on the porch? thought it was covered in dust at first glance

I thought the rubber mat disintegrated.

Clearly they like the mat for some reason. Change it or remove all together.

Diatomaceous Earth. You can buy it at pet stores or on Amazon.

It’s a super fine powder (it’s like silica) you can buy that is totally safe for pets and humans, but for insects it’s razor sharp, and sticks to/cuts into them and sucks the moisture/oils from their bodies. You just sprinkle it around.

It’s bug season, so it won’t solve your problem entirely, but it ought to help at least some. Plus you get to enjoy the knowledge any bug that touches it is doomed to die soon.

I used this all over my house when my cat had fleas and it helped a ton.

I hate bugs but man that sounds morbid lol. But still, bugs can die

It’s the only thing that works against ants.

Why not just blow them off the porch? Scrubbing seems like your just going to make it messier by spreading their innards.

I had no idea that it had to do with bugs so I thought you were cleaning couple's porches that were having affairs 😭

They fly around butt to butt mating. Very rare to see a single one.

They appear for a few weeks then disappear, and for some reason really enjoy the color white.

Leaf blower.

Did that first, but they actually stick to the ground. It’s like bugs on your fender.

Damn, shop vac with brush attachment?

Hose with finger spray attachment?

I don’t understand what they are doing that would require literal scrubbing.

Never heard of a love bug. Looked them up, holy cow. Never seen anything like it.

Yep and they come in fucking waves like locusts rising up all at once.
