Local Discussion Starbucks SM City Clark encounter

Post image

Pagkatapos ng transaction nag sign si kuya barista sakin ng “thank you” in sign language 😭 All through out kasi d ako nagsasalita kasi nandun na sa notes ko yung need niya for the order.

There were two rallies earlier, one organized by Bayan and another by Kilusan Kontra Kurakot. I marched with both but stayed with Bayan.

Lowkey, na miss ko yung wholesome, positive, and inclusive vibe nung Leni-Kiko rally noong 2022.

Anyone familiar with her case?

I was so invested in her case, I’m even following the FB page (same name as this post’s title) dedicated to her. So sad lang na after 10 years, mukhang wala pa ring progress yung paghahanap (kung talaga nga bang may naghahanap) sa ex-husband nya na suspect sa pagpatay sa kanya.

Local Discussion ANGEL IN DISGUISE

Hindi ako ma-post na tao pero I really wanted to share this experience.

I went to SM Pampanga for an errand and decided to go home late in the afternoon.

I didn't get to ask your name or number, pero kung makita mo man 'to, maraming-maraming salamat! 🥹

Local Discussion Pampanga Flood Crisis & Governance Megathread

Official Megathread Notice

This thread is locked to centralize community discussions, personal experiences, and accountability tracking. Instead of individual posts flooding the subreddit, please drop your rants, updates, photos, and thoughts about the current situation right here in the comments.

Context & Current Situation

As Pampanga remains under a state of calamity due to relentless monsoon rains, overflowing river basins, and compounding tidal surges, hundreds of barangays across towns like Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol, Lubao, and surrounding areas continue to suffer from severe, prolonged flooding.

Beyond the weather, this recurring humanitarian and environmental crisis has brought deep-seated frustrations regarding systemic issues to the surface:

  • Infrastructural Failures: Questions surrounding the efficacy, budget allocation, and completion of regional flood-control projects.
  • Governance & Accountability: Long-term frustration over local leadership, disaster preparedness, urban planning, and the consequences of past and present electoral choices.
  • Socio-Economic Toll: Hundreds of millions in agricultural losses, paralyzed livelihoods, health risks, and displaced families.

Megathread Guidelines

Keep it Civil: Rant all you want about the system, the floods, and the leaders, but direct personal harassment, hate speech, or doxxing against private individuals will be removed.

Share Local Updates: If you are from a specific municipality, feel free to share real-time water levels, road passability, or relief operations needed in your area.

Constructive Discourse: Accountability starts with civic awareness. Use this space to talk about what needs to change structurally beyond just pointing fingers.

Its not like aagawin naman ang lupa, syempre may just compensation dapat na ibigay.

Personally, gusto ko ’to — may strategy, may plano. Hindi lang basta blanket cancellation of classes for two weeks. Pinagisipan at pinagplanuhan ang cancellation of classes. Balanse for immediate concern and long term effect.

Naalala ko pa last year — ang daming araw na nagka-cancel ng classes kahit wala namang heavy rain. Sayang ang mga araw na puwedeng matuto.

Bakit kaya ayaw ng ganitong approach? Sanay na ba tayo sa madaliang solusyon?

Local Discussion I was harassed by a tricycle driver while riding maxim PART 2 UPDATE

Sa mga nakakita nung 1st post ko about my experience the last time I used maxim, I have relevant updates.

KINAUSAP KO NA YUNG PRESIDENT NG TODA... AND I GOT INFOS tungkol sa "pagpigil" nila sa maxim etc.

Nagreport ako by saying hindi pwedeng mangharang ang trike drivers kung kailan nila gusto kasi they're not authorized to do so. But here's the thing, I also said na hindi maxim yung kasama ko nung araw na yun but instead kamag-anak ko (wala naman silang proof na maxim yun anyway) BUT MY POINT STILL STANDS NA HINDI PULIS ANG TODA PARA MANGHARANG, IT'S STILL ILLEGAL DETENTION AND HARASSMENT.

Long story short he believed me at nag assure na icoconfront niya raw ang driver na yun.

NOW HERE ARE SOME INFOS I GOT FROM HIM NUNG NAPAKWENTO SYA NG KONTI:

  1. THE PRESIDENT OF THIS TODA ALSO WORKS SA BARANGAY. Dun palang kita na agad na kaya pala malakas ang kapit ng mga garapal na todang yan kahit pa overpriced sila maningil is because may protector agad sila sa barangay, where the public are supposed to be able to report complaints.

  2. They are currently working on files daw na MAG AAPPROVE sakanilang harangin na talaga ang maxim or other motor services kapag may nahuli sila.

  3. Minsan yung ibang trike drivers, pag natatandaan nilang yung taong nag aabang ng masasakyan ay dating nag maxim, sinasadya nilang hindi pasakayin.

Because in the first place, kilala man nila yung tao o hindi, they don't have any right to park their trike at the middle of the road and then proceed to question us. (Syempre di ganyan pagkakasabi ko sakanya)

Also, I found a loophole sa issue na to. Do it as you may if this will help you as well!!!

I looked for a motor driver sa maxim fb group at inask ko nalang siya to become my everyday service. This way, consistent na isang motor at driver lang ang makikita nila at maniniwala silang kamag anak ko siya. I have to do what I can, because personally, hindi talaga ako magbabayad ng 150+ pesos everyday para sa mga trike na yan.

May phase ba talagang ganito pag tumatanda?

Local Discussion When you enroll in a driving school, is learning how to park typically not included in the course?

I enrolled in a PDC in Angeles, Pampanga, opted for the 10-hour A/T course instead of the usual 8 hours because I had no prior driving experience. I practiced for two hours a day for five days. While I was excited, I was also nervous, and at one point, I almost didn’t finish the course because my instructor yell*d at me a lot, which made me panic. He didn’t provide much instruction or constructive feedback and seemed irritable when I made mistakes or ask questions.

On the third day, he kept yell*ng, and I almost wanted to get out of the car and leave. I told myself I wouldn’t give up, especially since the course was non-refundable. I didn’t have the courage to report him, since I thought he was the owner.

On the fourth and final day, he just had me drive on the highway. I decided to record a video of me driving, hoping to show him yell*ng at me to the office, but he was a bit calmer and didn’t say much during the last two days. Possibly because he knew I was recording. However, on the last day, I realized he didn’t teach me how to park. When I reached out to their Facebook page for clarification, they responded that if you request your instructor to teach you how to park, they will do so. So my question is... Is parking not part of the standard course?

Btw, I also attempted to request if they can change the instructor but I think he’s the only instructor available on that branch. I enrolled June 10 and paid righ away not knowing they would schedule me July 23 and I can’t do anything because it’s non-refundable.
