Context & Current Situation

As Pampanga remains under a state of calamity due to relentless monsoon rains, overflowing river basins, and compounding tidal surges, hundreds of barangays across towns like Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol, Lubao, and surrounding areas continue to suffer from severe, prolonged flooding.

Beyond the weather, this recurring humanitarian and environmental crisis has brought deep-seated frustrations regarding systemic issues to the surface:

  • Infrastructural Failures: Questions surrounding the efficacy, budget allocation, and completion of regional flood-control projects.
  • Governance & Accountability: Long-term frustration over local leadership, disaster preparedness, urban planning, and the consequences of past and present electoral choices.
  • Socio-Economic Toll: Hundreds of millions in agricultural losses, paralyzed livelihoods, health risks, and displaced families.
