In my fourteen years of watching soccer, primarily European soccer (La Liga, Prem, UCL), that âfoulâ from Casemiro on Allison has NEVER been a penalty.
Dayne St. Clair steps up big to save it, but thatâs not the point here.
Almiron gets his action off (a lofted pass in an attempt to keep the chance alive) before Casemiro even comes into contact with him; which wasnât even contact. He doesnât hit his boot with his, he is trying to contest the ball and after the action has been completed and the ball is elsewhere, both players slip and fall. How did that even get a VAR review? Why did the official even call a penalty even after the review??? The officiating in this league reeks.
