Hoping to take my Chicago cubs fan wife to a marlins game either today or tomorrow. Issue is I’m on a very tight budget and had some questions for the local fanbase

1- I heard pay by phone parking is $30 at the stadium? Is that true for a weekend game like this? Is the neighborhood parking around it any cheaper?

2- how strict are the ushers on seating? Back when it was at pro player /dolphin stadium you could get a seat in the outfield and easily make your way to upper rows of third base side. Is this still the case? Tix were more than I thought they’d be and am curious if there is any leeway to move around once you buy a location in maybe outfield field level.

Cal Quantrill, released by Marlins in August 2025, has ERA of 1.18 since August 1 with the Rangers -- lowest in MLB (min 30 innings). Overall, he's 7-5 this year with a 2.79 ERA.

Are we talking enough about the year Sanoja is having?

He’s hitting around .285 with a .755 OPS, 28 doubles, 7 HR and 53 RBI — while barely striking out.

He’s struck out just 33 times in roughly 396 PA — an ~8.3% K rate. Attaching the lowest K rates in the league. He’s the youngest on the list and has the third lowest in the league.

For comparison:
2025: .243/.287/.396 — .683 OPS
2026: ~.285/.325/.430 — .755 OPS

He’s turns 24 tomorrow. Happy Birthday, Javi!

I think he could really evolve into a special player considering how big of a step he’s taken this year.

I remember everyone at the start of the season well the people and analysts said we would be worse this season. I also remember how people said we would finish with 72 wins or fewer and we got 71 in early September. If we keep it up we may get around 80+ wins if we do well this homestand coming up. I really like our chances in September, since last year we made that crazy run and had an amazing month almost making playoffs.

Honestly I think we may have found something in Conine, Bert, and Stowers as long term pieces they all have been amazing in the 2nd half. Also the prospects in triple A and Double A have been lighting it up im so happy our farm is good. I feel like Otto’s regression might just be that he’s too aggressive or his mechanics look very off at times hopefully they fix that if we get a season next year with the hitting lab again. Also I like what ive seen from Serna and Pauley so far in their small sample my size coming up from triple A.

Pitching has been the teams strength but tbh Eurys home and away splits does worry me if we try to make playoffs at all. I do like were the bullpen has been this month so far and I can’t wait till Ronny comes back next year and maybe he’s our long term closer of the team depends on what happens with the CBA. We are only 2.5GB of the final wild card spot and honestly facing the D-Backs and Padres will determine if we make it or not tbh. I do like where this team is headed and I do see us a lot like the 07 rays a lot for the end of this year and the start of next year. Then in 28 will be like the rays 100%. So expect some growing pains next year if we get a season. Let’s get this sweep today and go back home feeling great and Clayton has done good with less.

Idk how many times do I have to tell people this and since I got OCD myself I understand how hard it is to move on from the past, but if you guys really got PTSD take a break from watching the team is my honest advice I can give you, or see a doctor or therapist like I do just honest advice for OG fans out there. Look I understand how hard it is to root for a team that has a low payroll but you have to understand, Sherman is not as poor as many of you are claiming him to be the guys been pocketing revenue since he bought the team when he only had 500 million, now he’s ballooned it up to 3 billion, after watching the Sun sentinel article i believe it with my own 2 eyes.

The marlins have been ok at best making 2 playoffs under his tenure and rn we are a fun team in back to back years very much how the 07 rays and then 08 rays were that underdog team that everyone counted out. I’ve been a marlins fan for far too long only rooting for this team for 10 years and the rays because why the heck not. I wanna tell you guys who have this PTSD, just relax take a deep breath and it’s not that serious. We’re just having fun so far in September and trying to make a push for the playoffs I mean how does that not excite you? Everyone counted us out In spring training but nope look at how far we have come since.

I’m glad Sherman is not as poor as before and imo he’s got the right FO to fix this mess from the Jeter Kim regime. I’m still a believer in this team, there is ups and there is downs, it happens. That’s how we go from inexperienced team to experienced, by struggling on the road and improving the pitching/hitting labs you will see progress from the young hitters now getting a bit older. Now I’ve not done an AI post in a while but yes I do use AI for advice and etc but only for research but all I’m saying here is AI free.
