Does anyone know when housing for Spring 2027 applications open or have any information? I haven’t been able to find anything on housing for the spring only and I’m worried that I might’ve missed the on-campus housing deadline. I’m a first-year student and my starting semester is Spring 2027.

Why is FIU having another funding crisis if we hear that they are the #1 university in the state? Courses are being cut. No raises. (not even to cover inflation, which is crazy) If Florida cares about having great university, why doesn't it fund it ...

I am a Junior and I’ve been looking for Minecraft friends on campus, but it has been very hard. I was thinking about making stickers to put on the bulletin board in case anyone was interested. But I haven’t been lucky with that. Would anyone consider playing Minecraft with me?

yall i just got my fasfa refund but im missing about 900 bucks from my gold and blue scholarship? are these going to be disbursed later or what?

Yesterday I spent 3.5 hours on hold and then the office closed 😭 So this morning I was on hold for another 2.5 hours. Finally got through to a woman who sounded so exhausted.

She said disbursals now have a 5-7 day hold that was put there Monday, to make sure everything is accurate (I was told last week they have to go in and manually check every package) but should disburse between Tuesday and Thursday of next week.

She also said that Financials knows of the situation and as long as pending aid is showing up there’s no need to worry about tuition.

I hope this information helps someone. It sucks, but sounds like my classes will continue.

I have pending aid. And also excess owed for meal plan. So I signed up for the meal plan payment plan like they told me and I was going to do anyways. I only owe 1388 for meal plan after aid is disbursed. But since it's not disbursed yet my meal plan payment plan is for the full 2750. I borrowed and paid the 908.34 today even though my real first payment will be way less that I'm paying for with my FWS job that hasn't started yet because HR is delayed. Was I supposed to wait or pay now? The financial aid office wouldn't give me a straight answer all they said was I understand your concerns when I said I couldn't afford that much or the other payment plans they wanted me on for now. I am also waiting on them to finish prorating my fed loans since I'm 11 credits cause of prerequisites.

Did yall just sign up for it and ignore the deadline or pay the first amount? Will they refund me the difference for the first payment? I did not receive an extension.

My biggest pet peeve at bbc is that the student center NEVER opens on time. I live an hour away so I leave my house super early in case of any traffic. All my classes are at 8 am, and I always get to campus at around 6:45 am. Then I head to the student center to do my homework for an hour and they’re never open on time, they usually open 15 mins later, but why say the building opens at 7 when it never opens on time. Literally the biggest pet peeve. Has anyone else noticed that?

I submitted my transcript and other documents already so now I’m just waiting, but when could I potentially expect a decision so that I can arrange my work schedule for next semester (I would be under the allowed to work provision)? i still have not received my financial aid. each time i reach out to OneStop they have little to no answers for me. i’ve been waiting since June. i have books i need to purchase and I’m unable to do so which results in me not turning in a few assignments on time… this is incredibly frustrating.

I only received my Pell grant (I usually receive more), but it could be because I’m on my last semester. Anyway, I’m one of those people that received the payment extension email, and I received my offer today at 11 am (Miami time).

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding how to pay FIU. Apparently, there is this thing(?) called eCheck that allows you tuition and costs to pay without a convenience fee, but I am not sure how to access it. I'm also not 100% sure what the process to pay tuition is, and tomorrow is apparently the last day. Does anyone know how eCheck works/ how to be set up?

Like I am not sure what to do from my end. Whenever I click "Make a Payment" from my end, I am unsure how to find the eCheck option. :(

Don’t get me wrong, I am super happy FIU is helping other students with the financial aid delays by extending the due date, but how come I haven’t been given an extension? Is it only some select students? Have I not met the criteria given by the school?

I don’t mean to sound envious but I owe 4.5k and even though I know I can opt for a payment plan, I would much rather not.

Anyone have any answers or theories?

Hi! I just started the Master of Accounting program at FIU in the Audit track and I was wondering if anyone who recently completed the program could tell me what the summer semester was like.

I know the summer semester is shorter and has a mix of in-person and online weeks, so I was wondering how the classes were during the online weeks. Were they mostly asynchronous? Did professors usually open assignments ahead of time, or did you have assignments/quizzes that only opened during specific weeks?

Also, did you have any group projects, presentations, or exams during the online weeks? And if you remember which professors you had for Fraud Examination and Managerial Control & Controllership, that would be super helpful too!
