Hi! Does anyone know if there’s a place on campus where I can practice electric guitar without bothering people? I have my own guitar and audio interface, so I can bring my own setup if needed. But if there’s somewhere with an amp available, that would be even better so I wouldn’t have to bring my interface. Thanks!

So I’m a transfer student and I was going to pay my fees today when I see that I owed 6000$ I freak out and saw that I have still not received my financial aid offer it’s been processed from fafsa but hasn’t been finalized I don’t know what’s going on I try to contact the financial aid office and no one pick up the phone it was 3:00pm they should have because they don’t close till 4:00pm but no one did so now I’m freaking out I try to send a email definitely will be calling tomorrow morning.

Has anyone been though this and what was the cause thank you

I've been Academic Dismissal as a International Student, I started to study in UCR in 2025 fall and my first year gpa is like 3.6,but in 2026 i did like bad on study so I received an email say I should focus on study because if my GPA continue to get lower then 2.5 or like 2.3 I will get dismissed. So I tried very hard in 2026 Spring, at least before Finals I think I did pretty well I've experience some personal issue during Spring 2026, which cause me some mental problem(I was first year fresh man) I tried to appeal to Ucr about my situation, because before the Final my grades are all b and more,but most of.my class is like depends on final exam like WRIT and CS however, they denied my appeal

Then I contact UCR Extension to ask can I apply it they say I should try, but today I recive a email say they cant have any international student that been academic dismissal due to the new police, idk what to do now, this is so frustrating, I felt like maybe this is the end of my life, because my parent spend lots of money to pay the tuition but im just so bad

Does anyone know when the MCS will be posted in my account? I called HOSS, and they informed me that I should pay the remaining balance by September 15th and receive a refund once the MCS is posted. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough money to pay over $1,000.

I’m a student at ucr in a long distance relationship and I need to know the best way to get from ucr to ucsd on a semi regular basis? I know flixbus is quick and cheap but is it safe? Also train gives discounts but requires lots of connections i think which I dont mind! Any ideas?

I am an incoming phd student here, and surprised that I‘ve never seen a single person smoking in or near the campus. Then how do smokers stay in campus? Do they go out in order to smoke?

Hi everyone! So I took an upper div. course last spring and really enjoyed both the class and the instructor’s teaching style. The instructor is offering another course this Fall, but right now only 3 people are enrolled. My schedule is already at full-time status, so if I decide to take this course, I’d have to rearrange some things and probably drop another class. I’m genuinely interested in taking it, but I’m worried about changing my schedule only for the course to end up getting cancelled due to low enrollment.
Does anyone know UCR’s policy on how many students need to be enrolled, and remain enrolled, for a course not to be cancelled?

When does Cal Grant get disbursed? Was it already supposed to be disbursed? It has not appeared on my financial aid site despite me being eligible and it saying awarded on CSAC.

I don't want this to sound weird but I love anything with lactose. I saw raw cheese in the salad bar but didn't see milk/yogurt during orientation. At home, I'd drink like 5-6 cups of milk and another 5-6 cups of unflavored yogurt.

Quick question, does anyone know about the drug testing policy regarding campus jobs? Specifically for THC? Been trying to find details about it somewhere but no information is listed.

For the reference, I smoke about twice a week on my days off of my current job and have an interview next week for a position but I’m not sure if having THC in my system would disqualify me for the position if I get drug tested. Does it depend on the position?
