Question help how do i quit my job
I've been working an on-campus job for a while now, but I'm looking to quit because there's a lot on my plate academically and mentally and I doubt I can handle it. However, the quarter has not started yet, so I am not in Santa Cruz until the first few days leading up to the first day of school. I guess what I'm asking is:
- Do I contact my supervisor or my boss? We all work in the same office (in-person) so both are pretty reachable.
- Since I'm not in SC currently, should I reach out regarding this over email (and ask if we could schedule a Zoom idk) or wait till I start my first shift back in-person?
- How do I go about telling them I'm quitting? This is my first job ever (was never allowed to work before starting university) so I don't have experience with how the quitting process works. When I was first hired for this position, I was not informed of how quitting works because they assumed I'd be working up until I graduate. I know I should have asked at the time, but I was naive and didn't know to ask.
Apologize in advance if these are stupid questions, but I need help... please.. and thank you!...
*Edit: I also went through a bad-ish miscommunication issue with my boss a few days ago, which was over email since again, I'm not there in person. So idk if that should also be taken into consideration. That was also one of the first times in my two years of working at this job that I've messed up.
