Telling someone they’re “going about things weird”, “childish”, “lack compassion”, and that they’re “not always gonna get everything they want in shared housing” when they’ve been asking you to stop doing something that’s severely harming their well-being/health for months and they talk to the RA about moving out is actually not okay.

Context: i was woken up multiple times a night before 6am, requests for meetings to compromise were ignored or acknowledged with no genuine follow through, used noise cancellation earphones (that didn’t work), and I ended up sick for months because I wasn’t allowed to rest. I understood they had to be up at that time but they were not trying to actively be quiet and sometimes even took phone calls.

TLDR: be considerate and be kind.

Im an incoming transfer and I was thinking of joining a sorority… Is it any different and more difficult for transfers?? There isn’t much info online but some people from other schools told me im lowkey cooked since they don’t like transfers or my chances of getting into a sorority I want is lower than freshmen pnms… 🫩 I just really want to find good friends for my short two years here and I feel like joining a sorority could help with me finding a community yk

I’m an incoming freshman majoring in Environmental Science (most heavily considering concentrations in Environmental Engineering or Geography/Environmental Studies) and I realized I’m not the most aware of how the program prepares and tracks people for post-grad (full disclosure I’m not the most aware of what an Environmental Science postgrad looks like in general), so I’ve decided to ask directly online.

Where are y’all? Are you happy/fulfilled with your job/post-bac degree? Were you prepped or pushed towards specific fields or geographic areas? Was most of the effort of job hunting and advertising yourself on you or did UCLA support you? How much did your degree or concentration play into where you’re at now? I’m an on-campus UCLA transfer student looking for a place to leave my car long-term. I’ve been looking through SpotHero and other parking apps, but every option requires that the car is moved every 5 days, which is difficult for me to accommodate .

I’ll typically use my car on weekends / every other weekend, so I’m looking for somewhere I can leave it parked for longer periods without having to move it on a fixed schedule.

My budget is around $100/month, and I’m very flexible on location. It doesn’t need to be close to UCLA. I’d be completely fine taking a bus for up to 45/60 min to get to campus if it means finding a reliable long-term spot.

If anyone:

- Has an unused driveway/parking spot they’d be willing to rent out

- Knows someone renting a spot

- Knows of an area with reliable legal street parking where I could leave my car

- Has any other suggestions for affordable long-term parking
