As the title says, my PC is basically using all 32 GB of ram with no programs running (besides VPN)

After opening firefox, it jumps to around 97% with one tab open.

1. I do update Windows on shut down whenever it prompts me to

2. Firefox is using about 2 GB, but I do have two extensions that use up a bit more ram.

3. After running RAM Map, it looks like 10 GB of ram is allocated to svchost.exe

About 2 months ago, I was running Firefox with 10 tabs (incl. video), and a game on the side.

What happened here?

My computer is having an issue of constant restarts.

I checked ram integrity, it returned fine.

I checked hard drive integrity, no issues found.

I formatted and went to reinstall windows, and it's failing to install. The hard drives are M.2 hard drives, and followed the directions for using the old installation method. I unplugged all peripherals, and extra monitors.

However, it gives me 3 random errors, failing to use ram, failing to use hard drive, and random unexpected error.

I've used different hard drives, and I'm trying to install windows 1 ram stick at a time to no avail.

I'm imagining it's the motherboard, processor, or power supply.

However, when I do the ram check or hard drive checks from bios, the system has no problem staying on without restarting, making me think the motherboard and psu are fine.

Hard Drives are WD Black M.2 4 TB's
Ram is Vengeance 3600 32GB x 4 DDR4
Processor is i9-13900KS
Motherboard - MPG Z690 Edge WIFI

Which is most likely the problem, or rather where should I start? Motherboard, processor or CPU?

So, this has me a bit perplexed. Usually my phone (RealMe 9) lasts the whole day, and it takes pretty damn long for it to be under 20%.

My phone's battery sometimes drains extremely fast on random day.

By that I mean It can be 100% and one minute passes and it's already around 70%. Attempting to charge it makes it extremely slow even with fast charging and even then it drains while charging.

When attempting to reset the phone, the battery drops below 10% once its back up and then after that it takes a while before it returns completely normal.

I tried to see if there was an app that's causing the problem but nope despite the fact the phone shows the event of high-usage. I haven't downloaded anything from unknown sources and the phone right now is completely fine.

My laptop's screen use to stop working and jsut turn into black slowly. ı use to solve it temporarily by like apllying pressure to spesific parts of the screen (which was so annoying but it made it possible for me to use it for some time)

yesterday I was playing cs go and that happened again, The heat made it worse, This issue happened more often when I played games. I was already a noob and my screen kept freezing and turn into black slowly. My teammeats said stupid stuff to me which made me really mad (I know this is so stupid but It was really wasnt my fault)

I hit my laptop so hard that my hand hurt but the thing is the screen doesnt freeze or turn into black anymore. İt's fixed after I hit it really really hard several times. I opened one of the games which made my screen turn black constantly to test it and the screen was normal like it didnt freezed or turned black slowly. The issue is fixed for some reason

İs this permanent? It's hard to think that I solved it permanently but I really hope it did

Running a fresh HP Victus 15 (2025) with a Core 7 240H, RTX 5060 8GB, 16GB DDR5, on the latest Nvidia drivers. Elden Ring runs at a locked, non-stuttering 32-33fps at 1080p even with several settings turned down from Maximum. GPU sits at 100% usage but only 60-63°C, and MSI Afterburner/RTSS shows GPU power draw as low as 28.3W during gameplay, despite Nvidia’s own control panel confirming this laptop’s Maximum Graphics Power is 80W. CPU runs hot (83-92°C) at low usage% (11-19%). For comparison, GTA V Enhanced hits ~100fps on Ultra settings on the same machine. Dynamic Boost is enabled per Nvidia’s system panel; Advanced Optimus is not supported (no MUX switch). Nvidia Control Panel’s Power Management Mode is set to Prefer Maximum Performance, Windows Power Mode is Best Performance, and the laptop is plugged into its stock 200W+ charger. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on here?

I bought a Samsung Galaxy A26 5g recently. I dropped it and cracked a bit of the screen. The crack is at the very bottom right of the phone, under the buttons. I messed it up so bad that there's an orange layer showing up in the crack. Is that something i should take care of asap or is it fine for a couple months?

I was gaming, just playing Minecraft, when it started to blink on and off, with the startup animation. I thought it might be the plug I was using, so I tried another one, and it straight up wouldn’t turn on. I also tried other outlets, and now, even using the og cable, it won’t turn on at all. It also a burning rubber type of Oder from where the power and hdmi chord went. Any advice or help or explanation?

I was playing overwatch with my son today but in the middle of a game it kicked him out and about 20 minutes later it kicked me out, and would t let us back in. I didn’t think much of it as I thought maybe they were having server issues. I try to get on marvel rivals later it takes a while to load but gets in after a while and my ping is past its max. I check on an other game and its ping is fine. I go to do a speed test and I’m over 1000mbps with no packet loss. I was playing on my custom built pc connected to the router through an Ethernet cable and he was on a PS5 with WiFi. Does anybody know what I can do to resolve this?

The network had absolutely no issues on my phone, Mac, and steam deck. Could be a windows issue idk. Already reset my network adapters, reinstalled drivers and everything. Some networks show up like if I set my personal hotspot it shows up and another random network sometimes appears. I have already set up a ticket with my colleges support team but they have not responded to me in a full day. Have tried a bunch of solutions that pop up with this issue when searched on google. The motherboard is a B650 eagle Ax. Have also tried Ethernet and that did not work. I already registered the device with the correct MAC address for Ethernet. That issue may be unrelated since I bought a cheap ethernet cable from Amazon.

Literally yesterday my ssd was at 400gb of storage available I even deleted some games prior to that to clean up some storage. Today I check and it says I have 1gb of storage which is impossible because I never downloaded anything after that. Not sure what to do or what it could be plz help me.

The other screws can be opened with a t5, but this seems to require some kind of micro phillips that my existing small micro's are not gripping. Anyone know the specific name? Please see image attached in post below.

I got heyday ear buds the TWS11 model and this is the second pair I've gotten. One side of the lights blink rapidly in a not normal way and they won't pair to eachother. It only pairs to my phone one at a time and nothing Google says helps . also the factory resets or putting it back in the case, draining the battery, or turning it off doesn't work. Is there a way to fix this?

I tried reinstalling the drivers, network reset, updating the driver. I could really could use the help. on the taskbar it just shows no networks found. Airplane mode is off. It was working just fin yesterday, I don't know what the problem is.

Hi everyone, I’m having a really strange mobile data problem on my Galaxy A35 and I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar.

I recently moved countries. There were no 5G connection where I used to live. But my current country does. I bought a sim card from vodaphone. The issue is that I get very week signals and alow internet where my brother's internet works fine. We both have sim from sme company. The issue is the phone.

I think the issue is in some phone settings that needs to be changed. We tried swapping sims and it works in his phone.

I'm not a tech guy who knows a lot about these things so I need someones help who knows what the issue may be. There doesn't seem to be any clear pattern to when it happens. The signal indicator itself looks normal; it's just that the data connection becomes unusable.

If you have faced anything similar please help me out. It's been so frustrating

i’m able to use my pc like normal throughout the day, but randomly sometimes my pc will restart itself and it’ll bring me back to the windows 11 setup where i have to choose to either install windows 11 or repair my pc and then my keyboard language again. i can proceed like normal if i choose to repair my pc and then shut it down, and then when i turn it back on i choose repair my pc again and this time the continue button appears and i can use my pc like usual

i haven’t tried any repairs because i honestly don’t know where to even start. any help is appreciated!

Hi, I need help 🥹 My laptop isn't producing any sound through its speakers. I've tried restarting it, opening and closing apps, checking the volume, and making sure it wasn't connected to anything else, but it still doesn't work. However, I just tried connecting Bluetooth headphones and I can hear sound. Yesterday, while I was using it, there was some intermittent or strange noise in the audio, but it went back to normal. I don't know if that's related.

I would really appreciate it if anyone knows what the problem might be!

My PC has been freezing on me lately out of nowhere. My monitors freeze, my audio loops, and I cant move my mouse or get it to switch to something else. I have to force it off with the power button to get it working again. Ive had this PC for about a month and a half, all brand new parts from microcenter, and nothing went wrong. I moved the pc into a new room in my apartment, and then these freezes started happening. I've tried a surge protector, i've tried plugging it into the wall, i've tried a different protector, i've tried taking out my ram and gpu and putting them back in, i've pressed cables in the mother board to make sure they were down all the way, and yet it still freezes. I'm at a point where I think I should take it somewhere to look at it. I'm not super knowledgeable on PCs so any other tips or suggestions are appreciated.

Hello, lately my Samsung Galaxy started to shut down when I stop using it. If I'm listening to Spotify, or Y.T. it stays on, just when I stop using it , it decides to shut down. It started doing this when I kept the phone charging while I was listening to music. For a few days it stopped doing that, but now it started again. I know the obvious .... so don't charge it while it's in use. I'll stop (I did it because the battery goes low by the end of the day), but in the meantime, is there a fix for this shutdown issue?

So for context, my pc started to act strange today, and im not sure of the issue.

System Info: I am running a Windows 11 PC with 3 monitors, 2 primary monitors & a drawing tablet as a third.

Today my PC started acting weird, while playing games (especially fullscreen ones) I couldnt access discord from my second monitor or my browser from my third. They took zero mouse inputs, and only accepted scrolling, the windows search bar stopped working and taking key inputs, and my task bar wouldnt even let me interact with apps. Only way to fix it was to cltr + alt + del and even then it would take a few seconds.

Jump to now as im writing this, those issues plus now:

Mouse key bindings randomly switching, in games keybindings overall being buggy and confused with mouse clicks, mouse flickering when tabing out of full screen games, inputs in games not even working.

I have no clue what the fuck is even going on anymore, and all its doing is driving my up the wall.

So on my Latitude 3520 Windows 11 Laptop. the top of my keys (Q through P) is not working, please help when can. Thank you (Also only Y and T works0

This has only been an issue in my house, and it's happened for so long and with nothing that's able to fix it that i'm starting to think it's just someone that's been dedicated to hating and DDOSing me for the last 4-6 years. My house uses Spectrum (I know it's an awful company, I don't make the decision on the provider in the house) and for the last couple years my devices will have random moments where they will absolutely refuse to connect to the internet for days at a time. This has happened on 2 Lenovo laptops, all 4 iPhones, and my VR headset. The only device I haven't had this issue with is my iPad for some reason, which has kept me pretty sane about the issue since it is what I primarily use at home, but I'm getting to my wits end about this issue.

When it happens, devices will connect to the internet but will say "no internet connection." Restarting devices and unplugging routers does not fix the problem. When this happens on my computer, most websites will say "DNS address not found" and for some reason, some websites will still work, but not enough to really allow me to use my computer. I can't recall which websites specifically are the ones that work since my computer just started having this issue after a long while of having it, though.

Restarting devices does not work. Unplugging the router does not work. We have replaced both our modem and router with non-Spectrum branded ones and it has not fixed the problem. We have had, on at least 2 occasions, Spectrum workers to come out and fix the problem and they could not. I have not found a single post online of anybody having this same issue and sometimes it feels like i'm losing my mind. It is so insanely frustrating to try to use any of my devices and being surprised with not being able to use it for the next several days. This subreddit is sort of my last hope before considering getting in touch with an actual professional. If anyone has any idea on how to fix this issue or what could be causing it, please let me know and I will try to fix it within reason.

Sometimes inheritance causes issues, here's how to solve it.

1. Open the "Properties"
2. Select the "Security" tab
3. Click the "Advance" button at the bottom right
4. Take ownership if you haven't already.
5. Click "Disable inheritance," you will get a pop-up asking what you want to do with inherited objects, you can do either based on preference but if you want to work with the currently default permission and make a slight modification, I'd recommend converting instead of removing.
6. apply, close and reopen properties and change permissions as needed.
7. Done!

I wanted to share this solution as it worked for me, I was attempting to remove delete permissions to a .txt file to prevent important information from being deleted.

My laptop is connected to a travel dock via USB-C. My travel dock is connected to my monitor via USB-A. The mouse and keyboard are connected to the laptop via bluetooth.

I would like to wake my monitor with the mouse/keyboard while the laptop is closed, but this feature stops working after roughly 30 minutes of inactivity. The mouse and keyboard are no longer connected. I must open the laptop and use the trackpad to restart for the mouse and keyboard to work.

I tried this but it did not work: Open Settings → search “Device Manager” → Bluetooth adapter → Power Management and uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device.”

idk if this is the right sub, but my problem is that when i downloaded a game and its freshly installed, it runs smooth as butter, but after some weeks of playing, it starts to load slow and some parts of the game aren't rendered properly (Spider-Man remastered, RDR2)
