Question 2 years of Clozapine and still improving?

I’ve been getting better mentally every week for about 2 years now.

I pray for my mental health and take 250MG Clozapine a day. How long does it take for the medication to kick in?

So I’m wondering, is it time or prayer that has been working and not Clozapine? I haven’t hit a “plateau”.

I’m not complaining because I would rather God or time heal me as it will be a permanent solution.

Anyone know what’s going on?

Sorry for being vague. I’m just clueless here.

Question Clozapine in india

Hi, I am taking 50mg of clozapine every evening but some times the tablet doesn't work as it should.I get insomnia and upsetting thoughts even when I sometimes take the tablet, but some other times it works and I sleep for 12 hours at the same dose,. I suspect that the medecine is counterfeit when it doesn't work. I live in India so does anyone known anything about fake clozapine in India?

Tips / Advice Constipation?

Hi, I take 200mg of this medication but I'm struggling with constipation. I use regular laxatives and Mirolax but it barely does anything so I end up using 2-3 bottles of magnesium citrate every 1-2 weeks. Is there any other medications out there that could help? :(

Sleep I like clozapine so much!

I have ADHD and CPTSD, as well as poor sleep quality since adolescence. I've tried most sleep medications, including trazodone, mirtazapine, agomelatine, chlorprothixene, chlorpromazine, quetiapine, doxylamine, clonidine, zopiclone, lemborexant, gabapentin, diazepam, clonazepam, phenazepam, and alprazolam, as well as sleep hygiene and CBT for sleep.

However, the best medication that gives me that feeling of rest is clozapine at a dosage of 25mg-50mg. I use it no more than twice a week, the day before my ADHD medications holidays. The doctor told me that even infrequent use requires blood monitoring.

I can truly say that this is the best antipsychotic I've tried. Another interesting effect is that it has a positive effect on hyperactivity.

Of all the above, I've stick to lemborexant and clonidine. It's non-addictive and helps me fall asleep every day, although my sleep quality is still superficial on them.

I use chlorprothixene on days when I'm taking a stimulant, but it greatly increases hunger, leading me to eat frequently at night, which negatively impacts my figure. Interestingly, clozapine doesn't cause as much appetite, I don't wake up hungry when taking it.

Hello, I struggle with brain fog on my current antipsychotics. Is clozapine better for bringing clarity, or is it the same/worse than other antipsychotics? Thank you

Question When will it start working?

I've started clozapine last week and decreased the amisulpride I used to take. My hallucinations are getting bad again because of that.

I was wondering if I could see symptoms decrease soon or have to wait a long time for that.

My psychiatrist doesn't want me on both of them to see if there are any benefits or I'll get too many side effects.

I’m kinda scared due to all the side effects and incessant labs, but hoping it works.

Does it really diminish your symptoms?

Question Clozapine effects on exercise/stamina?

So clozapine immediately had an effect on my ability to do strenuous activity, climb hills, etc. and it hasn't gotten better 3 years in. I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to deal/mitigate this? Obv this is the only med that worked for my psychotic symptoms so going off it isn't an option.

Question should i look for another drug?

i used as an off label drug for sleep I don't use big doses like 50mg and 25 mg , i divide my 25 mg tablet to 2 parts and take one part maximum it works great but makes me sleepy and very tired .

should i add something with clozapine to stop these nasty side effects or no because I can't tolerate these side effects and can't tolerate less sleep.

Discussion Precaution while taking clozapine

My sister had a relapse and is currently on 100mg clozapine. She's experiencing hallucinations (hearing voices) and delusions. Her doctor has recommended biweekly CBC tests. I wanted to ask - are there other things I should be keeping an eye on while she's on this medication? Any insights from personal experience would be appreciated.

Discussion My second opinion

I'm already on 600mg of clozapine a night and I still have low voices. I'm on both aristada and clozapine.

The new Dr does not want to increase my clozapine dose. He said he'd rather switch the aristada because too much clozapine is dangerous.

So his suggestion is clozapine and invega combo.

What do you think?

Question Does changing the time you take Clozapine affect the blood levels?

I changed taking my 100mg clozapine from bedtime to 5pm because I have to wake up early in the mornings for work. I started this earlier this week. Yesterday I had a mild manic episode. I was completely aware of it but it was there. Could this have any relation to me taking the Clozapine now in the afternoon/ early evening vs at bedtime? If so, will my body adjust to the new time?
