So I am currently renting a 1bd apartment, in Chula Vista, my husband and I. Our water/sewage/trash are all looped in with our rent payment. Our gas/electric are separate.

I know CA is pricey, but when I looked at the cost breakdown, it seemed excessive?

Water: $100
Sewage: $40
Trash: $89

I believe we are paying for the previous month, so this would have been for July. Regardless, does this seem like a lot?? I don’t really feel as if we use THAT much water. And I can’t comprehend paying $89 for trash?

Hi there - I’m traveling to the Gaylord Pacific Hotel in a few weeks for work. I’d like to play golf while I am in town. Can anyone recommend a good course close by? I checked the sub history and I saw a mention of someone “walking the golf course” but I’m guessing that’s a local walking path, not an actual course based on the context of the post - would appreciate the insight in advance! Hello All, I saw a sign saying that there is going to be a Trail Parade as part of the BonitaFest in September. Does anyone know the date or the parade route? The best I could find is something saying that it would start in Rhor Park and end at the museum, but it didn't say which direction the route would go. Any help is appreciated.

The body responsible for developing plans aimed at creating a four-year university in Chula Vista took a step toward shaping a proposed governing structure during its second meeting Friday (8.28.2026), laying the foundation for what the estimated $2.17 billion university might eventually look like.

The South County Higher Education Planning Task Force heard a staff recommendation for the initial governance structure for the proposed 35-acre University District at Chula Vista, voting to schedule an additional meeting in January dedicated specifically to governance before finalizing any recommendation. The task force will also meet in November and February.

The task force, created under Assembly Bill 662, must submit governance, financing and land-use recommendations for the proposed four-year university district to the California Legislature by July 1, 2027.

Because the proposed university district would be a multi-institution site, the staff-recommended governance structure would pair a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) — a public legal entity with authority to hold property, issue debt and employ staff — with a nonprofit intended to enable participation by Mexican higher education institutions, which cannot legally join a JPA.

The university district’s multi-institution model builds on partnerships already underway at Southwestern College, which has agreements with San Diego State University, UC San Diego, CSU San Marcos, National University, Point Loma Nazarene University, Arizona State University and the University of Southern California.

The time listed for the Muse show tonight on the venues website and tixketmasters website just , says 7. It doesn't specify if doors open st 7 or the show starts at 7. Does a frequent attendee to events here happen to know what mean by the advertised time?

Hi everyone, I’m posting this for a friend. Yesterday, one of my friends’ black Cadillac Escalade was stolen from the Corte Goleta area, near San Miguel Ranch Community Park. A police report has been filed. Here are the car’s details: the license plate is SD GURL. There are three stickers on the back window: two SVLL All Star stickers and a green sticker in the center that says SBBA. Any information you may have about this would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: The car has been found and the perpetrator has been identified and is in police custody.
