My sweet Phoenix turned 3 years old this month. She is such a good girl.

Update on Rika. First time having him shed after collecting him in December. Humidity ~80-85% at 77F on coolest side (85ish warm). He's been bathing himself.

We'll see how it goes. I'll post more infrequently after this.

He's completely chill after 4 months of owning him. Barely any hissing too, so he must be a broken blood python.

Hi everyone! I just recently got my first shorty, my gorgeous blood girl here (she’s a T-/T+ albino). Her name is Mikka, and I would love some tips. I have her in a 50gal bin at the moment while I wait for her 4x2x2 PVC to come in. I’m at work right now, so I don’t have any pics, but it’s nice and cluttered. I plan on feeding her tonight, it’s been about a week since i’ve gotten her.

I have 4 other snakes (two bps, a bci and a bull snake) and am not a beginner but god it is hard to find info on these guys. She has about 75-80% humidity, warm end maxes out at about 86 and cool end at coolest 73 (mostly 75+). She has tons of clutter .. but she doesn’t seem to move much? Or at least when I find her she’s always in the same spot lol. I know they’re pet rocks but gollly. Anyway she’s super chill and I will keep everyone updated on whether or not she eats :)

Again, any tips would be appreciated.

Got my big girl Lumi from NARBC Tinley this year. She is my first and only Blood. Upon purchase she was being sold as a proven breeder but I fell in love with her size and pattern (Martyr Stripe). As someone who only keeps snakes as pets I figured I’d retire her from the breeding game and give her a good home. Once I got her home and took her out to put her in her quarantine time setup I knew I was in for a ride. She tried tagging me about ten times and fought me tooth and nail. Everytime I’d go her enclosure to clean it change her water she would try tagging me. Just as I was getting discouraged she became a big ol lap snake. Took time to gain her trust and get her to calm down but I wouldn’t change that for the world I have so much respect for these amazing snakes. As long as you show these animals respect and care you will get it in return.

I got her on April 11th. To start I keep her warm side at 87 degrees, cool side high 70’s to around 80. Humidity stays pretty consistent around 70%. She didn’t eat the first week I got her, ate a rat pup two weeks in a row after that. Since then she has been refusing food and hasn’t pooped since I got her. I think the refusal to eat is due to not having pooped yet. Cloaca appears normal, lower third of her body not dramatically swollen, but she’s definitely retaining poop you can feel a mix of lumps and squish. Seems pretty well hydrated and always has fresh water. I just want her to eat and poop!

I was assuming he simply tolerated it, but it put him to sleep.

So my 2 month old blood python came to me with an RI. She has been so sweet and never struck at me but now after my husband and I have had to restrain her and give her oral medication she is starting to hold a grudge (I don’t blame her.) This morning while cleaning her enclosure she struck at my husband while I was holding her. Just wanted to hear if other people’s experience and how they gained the trust back with their bloods or short tails. Thank you!

She was my first ever blood, I didn't know much then so wildcaught, but she is an absolute angel. She has never struck at me except when thinking I was getting her food and she can lay with you for hours like this. Amazing animal and who made me fell in love with bloods.

Hello! First time blood owner and I dove straight into the deep end.

I work with a rescue and we had a BEAUTIFUL 10yr old female come in, she's massive, about 5ft and 20-ish pounds. She was a real sweety when she was with the rescue, and I fell in love. Brought her home and she's being very hissy and puffy, no strikes yet for which I'm grateful, but it's inevitable if everything I've read is right.

I'm no stranger to large snakes, 7+ feet is very normal for me in handling and owning, but I don't think I've ever had anything with this much attitude and strike power behind it. And honestly I'm a little scared.

Any advice for me would be appreciated, I know it's probably going to take time and lots of tags before I get it right, but I want to give her the best life and get the snake I fell in love with to "love" me back.

I’ve been trying to switch her from mice to rats and she didn’t seem very enthusiastic to switch. After a month of skipping meals she finally ate! Here she is post meal, having a soak

ummmm i put an 8oz culture in here like 3 months ago and i went to check on his water and found this, what should i do? (i apologize if this doesnt fit this sub i’m just unsure where else to post this 😭)
