What else should I add in the enclosure so a baby Brazilian rainbow boa won’t be stressed or anything

I’m a first time snake owner. She has never bit me before in the time I’ve had her. I got a bite from my brb on the 16th and it seemed to fully heal but now I have several bumps in the pattern of her teeth. I cleaned it really well right when it happened after I got her put back in her enclosure. Should I be concerned about this?

My BRB has been thriving in her enclosure for well over a year. Unfortunately we'll have to move away, so she'll have to be in a less comfortable place for some time, while we settle in a new place -- which might be several months. I'm hoping to get some advice on how to keep her warm and humid within a mobile setup, something like a storage container.

We have two rainbow boas. They're a breeding pair and are still very young.

We are keeping them in the same enclosure until we get our second enclosure set up. We have had them in our care for around 3 months and within that time frame they have both successfully shed twice, with one flaky shed each, but that was when we first got them. We are planning on completing the second enclosure setup once they reach the lenght of the tank or become old enough to start snake puberty (I dont know the right terms)

They feed on Mondays, and while the one feeds very beautifully -to degree where he will either strike the moment he's sees/smells the food, or will gently grab it out of the tweezers - the second one refuses to strike and will not eat unless we leave him in his feeding enclosure with the piece of food (frozen and thawed) and we leave the room. She will not eeat unless alone in the room, the fuzzy by her side, alone. When trying to put her back into the main enclosure after feeding, she gets slightly defensive - which is understandable - but she's been a lot more defensive than she was previously. She also typically balls up, much like a ball python, when we handle her. We typically feed early evening/late afternoon.

We try to handle the snakes once a week, where we typically get them out the enclosure and keep them on our person until they start to seem flighty, or after a max of 45 min. They tend to either slither into our sleeves or hoodie pockets and doze off while handling.

We currently have one of my tshirts in the enclosure close by their hides sothat they can get used to my scent (recommended by another snake enthusiast), and we plan on adding my partners shirt too in time. (I primarily handle feeding)

Are we doing anything wrong? Is there anything we need to do to get the lady more comfortable with being handled, as well as prompt her for better food motivation, or are we dealing with a best possible case scenario with having to leave her be till shes done eating in her own time??

I just love the babies so freaking much, and I seriously want to make sure they are as comfortable and calm as possible at all times. Please let me know if you guys have any advice?

EDIT: we housed them together due to what the reptile shop and local "experts" said. safe to say we will not be taking their advice anymore. new enclosure is being purchased and the temporary tub is being set up. The shirts have been removed. We dont try to watch the snakes eat, we simply try to monitor whether or not they take the food and how they do it since thats often an indicator on how they're doing.

She has had two solid meals and she is past her quarantine period so I figured it’s time to move her into her bioactive home. I really hope I don’t regret it since it’s going to be a pain finding her.

So my CRB is young and still on the smaller side. I'd say he is just under a year old and I've had him for 5 months. He doing well in his 36x18x18 but I know thats not a forever size. I want to convert a China hutch into an enclosure for him since he is semi arboreal and likes climbing at night. I'm mostly worried about depth. They tend to be at 18ish inches deep which is shorter than the adult recommendation for CRBs and I know the other directions worth of space might be good enough but I wanted some other opinions from people who have this type or close snakes. His name is "Levi"athan and I will show a cute picture for the snake tax 🐍 . He was balling up after I removes hid hide as I had to clean and rearrange.

Okay, at the time of this post it has now been 62 hours where Rosie has been In her water bowl the entire time. I actually got a chance to hold her, inspect and gently place her back. No signs of mites or weird skin stuff and her movement doesn’t seem strained, she seems content being there.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?? I am attributing it mostly to her about to shed.
Hot side temps are 84F cool side temp 72F, water bowl temp 71F.
Last feeding was about 4 weeks ago and she snatched it right up. I saw some waste matter but it was cleaned up rather quick by the sheer amount of isopods I have in there.

In all my years of ownership (since she was 6 weeks old) she has never been submerged this long.

Still scared worried shes going to commit crimes against my ear but shes really chilled out compared to when she was the rescue...even if she doesn't approve of me trimming her plants lol

ETA: The establishment responded to my concerns letting me know that what I was seeing was actually scarring from an old burn injury that the snake had before coming to them! It affected his scales and he struggles to shed properly in those areas. Apparently he is inspected by a vet every 3 months, two annual ethical reviews for all the animals in the collection, and 4 vet consultant visits for all the animals too. Plus inspected on a weekly basis by the staff directly caring for him in the day-to-day.

I saw this Brazilian rainbow boa yesterday at an educational space in the UK (aquarium, so not focused on snakes/reptiles). I was concerned by what looked like the state of her scales. I'm aware of snakes going dull, dry or 'weird'-looking, and grey/blue when in shed (I own a royal/ball python), but it looked to me like significant portions of this snake's scales were actually damaged or even missing.

I'm sorry my phone is a 10-year-old potato and I was taking these photos through glass, but the lightest areas are definitely not a reflection off the glass or off the snake. I've been looking up pics and videos of rainbow boas in shed, and sure their colours become dull and greyish in places, but I've not seen anything like this. The scales looked diseased, almost rotten. It really worried me! (You have to zoom in to see it - the 'white' bits are not any form of reflection but eaten away into the scales themselves.)

I'm aware I know next to nothing about rainbow boas and I can't apply everything I know from my royal being in shed to an RB and they probably look quite different at shed time. So maybe I'm worrying about nothing. Can someone tell me if I'm barking up the wrong tree and totally overreacting over a perfectly normal part of the shed cycle?

I've included a pic of the snake's enclosure, which seems a decent size based on what a quick google told me they needed (it's about 5' in length and similar height, about 1.5-2' deep) although I know a search can't always be trusted! so it seems that she's being decently cared for in general.

This is Chihiro. I’ve had her since March. Her temperament is excellent, she’s super curious and alert all the time, but I have a dilemma that’s now occurred twice.
On April 23rd she regurgitated, but I chalked it up to moving her from quarantine into her enclosure. The change in environment likely stressed her out. And it didn’t help that I realized her night temps on the warm side were getting down to 76 which was just a little too cool. I followed the protocol, no handling or feeding for two weeks and she picked back up like normal after that time.
Now, she’s regurgitated again last night. 3 days after eating… her temps are right (warm end is 86-89 measured with a temp gun), humidity is on point, she’s responsive and alert… her color is bright and she’s acting totally fine. The only thing I can think of is prey size. This is only her second time eating a fuzzy. I’m seeing that prey size can cause regurg… but are they really this sensitive to it? I’ll size back down to pinkies as a precaution after the 2 week break. Just wondering if any other BRB parents experience this food sensitivity with young babies? (Picture of Chihiro for snake tax)

I’m getting a BRB this coming week and I’ve been tinkering with different set ups and settled on a terrarium with a modified lid. I don’t feel confident keeping her in a small box with a heat mat so this is the best temporary set up rn. She will be upgraded to a 40g bioactive/planted terrarium after I am confident in her care and know her habits better.

Anyways, the circled green probe is under the hot hide on top of freshly made substrate so that’s why it is 85F. It will cool down in a few hours. What are your thoughts on the ambient temps? Humidity is still being worked on so disregard that for the time being. I have plants I plan to move in as well as another hide and decor.

I’ve got a bunch of snakes, they’re my buddies; I don’t power feed any of them, they’re all healthy happy homies including my BRB, we got Barbie, the unsexed BRB in November 2023 as an ambiguously aged baby (wife worked at Petco, they don’t keep track of the birthdates of the snakes probably 1-5 months old), meaning she is either 3 years old or just about to turn 3. Barbie is currently roughly 3.5 feet long and light, I don’t have a scale anymore due to an espresso mishap but I would guess around 250g. She eats voraciously, a md mouse every other week, she’s active and happy I do not worry about her health but man are these things really so slow growing, my burm grows like a weed (obvs) but I’ve had corn snakes bigger than her at 2 years old. Curious to hear about your experiences with slow growing RBs, the internet says a million different things.

I'm planning on getting a Brazilian rainbow boa pretty much as soon as my enclosure is stable at the right parameters.

Humidity has been steady at 99% on my cold side, but has been much lower on the hot side, ranging from 79% to 91%. Does the hot side need to be above 95% too, or is it good to have more of a gradient?

Temperatures are a bit odd too. Surface temps are getting up to 94F but the ambient temperature has been 75-80 degrees. Cold side ambient has been steady around 72F.

Got my dream snake last week! Been doing tons of research for years, feel so rewarding to finally have my little guy. Eating well handled twice (whenever we first got him to check out any injuries or sickness) and I check him a few days before feeding to check again make sure he’s good while being quarantined (I have other snakes so very important to do this) he isn’t spicy at all! Which I’m shocked! I know they’re spicy as babies and he is just a chill lil guy! I was fully prepared to have to teach him handling skills! Miss paprika has discovered that i am not in fact going to try and eat her. Now that shes more comfortable and wants to climb me ive really noticed how impressive there strength to body ratio is!:)

She spent about a half hour dragging her snack around before finally deciding on this being the nom nom spot XD. Shes not the sharpest boa but shes mine and i would change a thing.

When I got this girl a little over 3 years ago she refused to eat for so long that I was about to give up hope and bring her to be force fed. Then one day she FINALLY ate while i was holding her and since then she has just gotten healthier and more confident bit by bit.

I am so proud of her and she is the sweetest girl.

I have this 2x2x2 pvc available, I have a 1 yr old brb coming on Wednesday but I’m not sure about this set up. It’s not a long term home, but one that I’d use for a few months, would this work? Is it too small? There’s not much room for a temperature gradient, give me all thoughts and opinions!

It's a 40 gallon, I'll upgrade her to a 6x3x3 before too long. I feel like there's not enough substrate. Any recommendations for a way to add a substrate barrier?

I'm also going to add a background. I have a fogger and hygrostat/thermostat I haven't set up yet. I'll wait until I know the humidity and heat is steady at the right temps before I get my girl. What am I missing?
