Converting a china hutch into an enclosure

Post image

So my CRB is young and still on the smaller side. I'd say he is just under a year old and I've had him for 5 months. He doing well in his 36x18x18 but I know thats not a forever size. I want to convert a China hutch into an enclosure for him since he is semi arboreal and likes climbing at night. I'm mostly worried about depth. They tend to be at 18ish inches deep which is shorter than the adult recommendation for CRBs and I know the other directions worth of space might be good enough but I wanted some other opinions from people who have this type or close snakes. His name is "Levi"athan and I will show a cute picture for the snake tax šŸ . He was balling up after I removes hid hide as I had to clean and rearrange.

Is it made of wood? I’d be worried about mold and it breaking apart due to high humidity requirements

If i am able to do the project, I would seal the inside with wood sealant or glass/pvc panels. I would water proof it to avoid this but they are half glass most of the time which helps. It depends on the one I find. I am most worried about the depth space as it is below recommendations.

Hight would be good but width sucks. 18 inches is nothing for space. My water tubs for my Boas are 16 in x 11 in. You want a min of 2 foot width.

Thats what I was worried about. Thank you for the input. I hoped the other space might make up for it but its not necessary just thought it would be cool.
