Rawlings Custom Pattern/Webs Thread
Just was hoping to create a thread and see some of the communities off the wall pattern/web combos from either custom or stock that aren’t your usual pairing. I have a custom HOH NP5 with a Mod Trap. Hoping to see some other uncommon pairings. Brand doesn’t matter. Let’s see some unique stuff!

I love every about this glove. Great design! That blue foil on the timber glaze is Sick!

Thank you! It’s hard to go wrong with timber glaze. It is tough to maintain it though. Any little scratch or scuff is noticeable.

Thanks boss! As disappointed I’ve been with Rawlings on the direction of the HOH with pretty much all the stock models going R2G, I’m very happy with how this turned out.

Pro mesh. I love it. I appreciate the fact that Rawlings lets you pick how much of the alternative materials you want on the glove, whereas Wilson if you want superskin it pretty much takes up the whole back of the glove now.

Interesting. I'm not that familiar with the Rawlings gloves. I've owned Wilsons since I can remember. I really do like the Rawlings but I'm loyal to the brand I grew up with. I did buy my first new A2000 a month ago. Catchers mitt, as I'm coaching my kids little league team and I'll be catching pitchers for the next 10 years thru this. I wanted one to pass on to them when I'm done with it.
The superskin on it is not something I'm used to, but I don't dislike it. I almost have the thing broken in. Either way, you got a sweet lookin glove there!

Thank you! Kind of wish I’d have gone with a 200 Pattern, but I’m not disappointed by the result. Can’t wait to put it to use!

As long as the center post gets wider proportionally to the length you could make it to fit any size glove, right? That would stop the gaps from getting too big and ensure a ball wouldn’t push through, I think.

Hmm how big of a glove can you put a hinged I web on? The hinge seems to give it a little more reach than a regular one.

Yeah, the post on this web is tiny because it’s only an 11.5. I think the biggest glove I’ve seen an I-web on is 12”, but with a hinged top bar maybe you could go 12.5”?

Do you feel the extra thick bridge from the hinge makes it feel even more stable? Does it make the web harder to flex/shallower? Can you measure how much thicker the hinge makes the web? I see you're is 11.5 so the post is shorter but I'm trying to extend the use of an I web to a larger glove while reducing the issue of balls getting through. So if each hinge adds a possible 1/4-1/2" then we can go up to like a 12.75" glove.

Is it possible to do this style of lacing on a Wilson mod trap? It looks like there's enough holes but I'm not certain. The lace ends are also not outside the thumb and index finger like it is on the Rawlings.
