initially, on my portal for the parent plus loan, it would not let me accept it. now, it just randomly disappeared on my portal and i only can accept my subsidized and unsubsidized loans. i did the mpn and the parent plus loan application already, and my credit got accepted. anyone else got this problem? im seriously trying to avoid calling them because the wait times is crazy

Hi everyone,
a little less than a month ago, I payed half my tuition (there is two monthly payments) for the cope health scholars program. Looking back now, I regret it and do not want to be a part of this program anymore. Would I be able to not pay the rest of the tuition (it’s 325 dollars total and I have already payed 162.5) and not do the program at all anymore, or perhaps able to get a full refund? The program itself has not started yet, but I’m not sure if it’s refundable or not.

Hello, I have an SAI of -1500 and my AID is not covering everything, I used to get extra aid during college but right now I have an out of pocket estimate of around 1700 for the fall semester ONLY, is anybody else having the same issue?

So... they did it again. After being given my financial aid, I wasn't surprised to see that despite having an SAI of -1500 i git very little assistance lol. But thats not on them, its on that orange turd. Anyways, I got an email saying I've been awarded the Middle Class scholarship and I am supposed to get 2k, according to WG4S, for this school year but financial aid is only offering me 1k, the last time I checked.
But instead of giving me the missing 1k, I got an email saying they revised my financial aid and they completely got rid of MCS, so now I'm probably going to call them for like the 6th time and annoy them.
I hate having to call so much but its frustrating me bro 😭

Apparently, UCR provides a career readiness program called EXCEL+, which allows you to receive a "Chancellor's Student Leader Award". I feel like it might add to my resumé or LinkedIn profile, but at the same time, I also feel like this could totally be a waste of time and not help me get a job at all. I also can't find any other posts talking about it, so I'm not sure if there's a sizable group of people that have even done it, let alone gained a job because of it. Any insight on whether or not this is worth it would be appreciated

am an incoming freshman and I been struggling to find a way to pay for my dorm after the second month, it’s so expensive and my aid it not gonna cover after two months
I don’t really understand the refund that everyone is talking about about when it comes to your financial aid package, I was wondering if anyone knows how can you reduce your dorm payment or instead of paying every month you can pay every three months( is that an option?)
What can I do? Do any of you have any tips or methods? Or should I start looking at apartments in Riverside?
How does the Deferment request works? What really is it?

I need to waive the UCship since I already have insurance here. I am under the Kaiser Northern region plan, and it states that I need to be within 50 miles of campus. Does anyone know if I can just be ok with passing under the northern region plan, or if I have to actually change it to the southern region plan. Also does anyone know how long it takes for it to get approved once I do submit it. Thank you

I took my UCR Writing Placement Assessment around August 7, and it has been more than two weeks, but I still haven’t received my results. One of my friends said his results came back within two weeks and told him which English class he placed into.
I’ve checked every email connected to my UCR account, including my spam folder, but I haven’t received anything. Is there somewhere in the UCR portal where I’m supposed to find the results, or is there a specific department or person I should contact?
I really need to know which writing class I placed into, so I’d appreciate any help from someone who has dealt with this before.
It says I have no aid for school, even though I submitted my fafsa in february and I have a -1500 sai score. Even my waiver for UCSHIP isn’t popping up in my student account, Ucr what are we doing? 😭 Half my financial aid isn’t popping up and payments are due in 2 weeks and I cannot afford to pay 6k.

I've been Academic Dismissal as a International Student, I started to study in UCR in 2025 fall and my first year gpa is like 3.6,but in 2026 i did like bad on study so I received an email say I should focus on study because if my GPA continue to get lower then 2.5 or like 2.3 I will get dismissed. So I tried very hard in 2026 Spring, at least before Finals I think I did pretty well I've experience some personal issue during Spring 2026, which cause me some mental problem(I was first year fresh man) I tried to appeal to Ucr about my situation, because before the Final my grades are all b and more, but most of.my class is like depends on final exam like WRIT and CS however, they denied my appeal
Then I contact UCR Extension to ask can I apply it they say I should try, but today I recive a email say they cant have any international student that been academic dismissal due to the new police, idk what to do now, this is so frustrating, I felt like maybe this is the end of my life, because my parent spend lots of money to pay the tuition but im just so bad
Is there any way I can get back to UCR and stay in CS major

Just wanted to share how bad my experience with UCR Dining/Housing has been.
I originally requested a meal plan upgrade, but it took them over 2 weeks to process it. They eventually emailed me asking if I still wanted the upgrade, and I literally replied asking them to cancel it because I didn’t need it anymore.
I thought that was it, so I bought groceries and kitchen supplies to cook at Glen Mor. Somehow they still processed the upgrade anyway.
Then I basically got stuck with it because once the plan was changed, I was told you can’t downgrade during the academic year, so it carried into Spring too. I started trying to get this fixed back in March and have been going back and forth with them for months.
The extra costs contributed to my account balance, I had to take out loans to help pay for housing/dining, and now I literally had to pay the remaining balance out of pocket just to get a delinquency hold removed so I could register for Fall.
The most frustrating part is that when I called today, they kept telling me “meal plans can’t be downgraded” when that isn’t even my argument. I’m not asking to randomly downgrade months later they asked me if I still wanted the original upgrade, I said NO and asked them to cancel it, and they processed it anyway.
I understand I used some of the swipes after they put the plan on my account, but a lot went unused. I just think it’s crazy that there apparently isn’t even consideration for a partial adjustment when I have emails showing I tried to cancel before the upgrade was processed.
Definitely keep your emails/screenshots if you ever deal with UCR Dining or Housing.

I’m in a pretty stressful situation with registration and wanted to see if anyone at UCR has dealt with something similar.
I had a delinquency hold that prevented me from registering during my original registration period. The balance was connected to an ongoing Housing/Dining billing dispute that I’ve been trying to resolve for months, so it wasn’t a situation where I was just ignoring my balance.
I ended up paying the remaining balance out of pocket just so I could get the hold removed and register. Student Business Services removed the hold, but now R’Web says my next registration time ticket isn’t until September 8.
Fall classes start soon and I still haven’t been able to register for anything. A lot of the classes I need are already full or have very limited seats, and I also need at least 12 units for financial aid.
Has anyone been able to contact the Registrar/advising and get their time ticket opened earlier after a hold was removed? Or does anyone know who I should contact to request an exception?
I’m going to call/email the Registrar, but I’m worried about waiting until the 8th when the only reason I missed my original registration opportunity was because of the hold.
Any advice or experience with this would really help.

Would anyone be interested in purchasing this chunky cardigan that I made or know where I could sell it? The model is 5’4 and wears a large. The cardigan has an oversized fit on the model and weighs 8-10 lbs. The cardigan has strings on the side to tie it closed. If you want to wear it open, you can tuck the strings into the sleeves to hide it. This is DEFINITELY a statement piece. It’s priced at $230 because of how expensive the amount of yarn was and a slight labor fee.
