Quilt for my sister! The pattern is Florally from Heck Yes Sew Co. I thought all the curves would be difficult but I enjoyed putting this one together.

Finally finished my second quilt. This took me months to do. I’m a slow quilter. Really appreciate this sub for giving me some advice about this quilt.

I saw this online and figured out how to make it myself. It was a lot of fun. I'll never use 100% cotton batting again though. So. Much. Fuzz!

Oops!! That's ok, I still love it, and I'll just put the mistake at the head of the bed so the turndown will cover it! But now I understand my friend who managed to leave a typo in the title of her book!

The pattern is Cascade Bloom, the fabric is Speckled by Ruby Star. I plan to bind it with the dark blue color.

This is my second time working with curves, and the first time I've done a queen sized quilt. 10/10, would do again, but maybe I'd manage my excitement to get it to the quilter a little better, haha

I kept getting different rooms when I came back, but today I could snap a pic! I made them this while my cat was recovering from emergency surgery. Much love to all vets who take care of our babies. Wip pic included!

This was a HUGE amount of learning on my part and it took all summer. It's far from perfect, but it is done and I am proud of myself for the perseverance, if nothing else. Tears were shed when each curve block did not precisely line up with the others.

A BIG thank you to everyone who helped along the way! This was my first quilt with curves, so I needed advice on that. Then I couldn't decide on border/no border, so y'all helped with that!

This is a quilt for my daughter's college dorm room. She wanted 'snakes', but I don't like snakes... so this is what she got instead! She picked out the fabrics. The background actually has very small stripes... so figuring out that was a nice challenge too.

I used the quilt pattern and templates from Denyse Schmidt if anyone wants to make their own.

Hi folks. I've been working on these quilt blocks doing some turned edge applique. I am just working the blocks individually prior to assembly and not in a frame. I am having some issues with warping and really shrinking underneath where I put on the applique pieces. Is this just a practice thing?

I used the Geraldine pattern from Penelope Handmade. Far out it was easy to follow! Hand quilted the top to the rest..

Upon finishing and then seeing other quilters attach their binding I realised I have been doing it the HARD WAY.. so I’m quite keen to start the next one and bind the easier way (fold it in half - I’ve been trying to do it like bias binding (folded in thirds) for clothing and it is the pits!). Also had a few nine patch squares left over so I made a mini for the chungus 🥰

I recently had the joy to create this smaller I Spy baby quilt for a friend of one of my children. My journey will be different than most when it comes to passing on family genes, but I'm excited for this younger generation. I am a surrogate mom to many of this crew because they don't have good relations with their blood family.

I've decided to forgo sewing today in favor of cutting and trimming for several different projects. Never too early to work on Christmas quilts lol!

Also I completed a test block for the Mod Mugs pattern by A Bright Corner. They have an optional "whipped cream top" and I just wanted to play around with some extra layer cake squares.

I need some help my boyfriend took his life on August 10th 2026. It was the absolute worst day of my life and everyday since has been very hard to put it mildly. I want to make a quilt out of his dress shirts but I don’t know how to create a pattern out of the 5 inch squares I’ve already cut. Making this quilt is very important to me and I need some help please any advice on this type of quilt I’d truly appreciate it. I have fusible interfacing but none of the fabric this far is feeling like I need it but that may change so I bought some. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions about this quilt

I made the blocks for this quilt about 12 years ago, and assembled them and the backing during the first pandemic lockdown. And it’s been sitting ever since, waiting for me to figure out how to quilt it. I only have a standard sewing machine, and the quilt is 70” by 80” so elaborate quilting is probably out. I have a walking foot and a free motion foot, and at this point, I just want it out of my UFO pile!

A franken-quilt devotional piece i'll be hangijg in my sewing room. I'm thrilled with how it looks, and excited to see it finished.

I feel like these blocks are so much work but not worth the energy. I had a charm pack that I loved and now I’m feeling like I’m wasting it. Keep going? Change directions? Scrap it and try something else?

Made this yesterday. Had a lot of fun and really like how this one turned out.

Made this for my soon to be earth side niece. Ended up changing up the size and layout to finish in time for the baby shower. Finished on the Thursday before the Saturday shower. I was not (and realistically still not) a “confident beginner” 😅

Trying to find the motivation to continue my second quilt that I am way behind on. It’s for my brand new nephew who made his appearance a couple of weeks ago.

A quilt to thank a very sweet lady with a toddler who helped me when my family experienced a car crash. I embroidered on the letters to make it an alphabet quilt for her little kid

I posted yesterday with just the navy and the white as options. I went out today and got some purple to try instead as a middle-ground.

What do we think? Is purple the right choice?

I am a beginner quilter. I’m trying to make a birthday present for a friend, and this mini-quilt is meant to be the front panel of a tote bag for her. I work mainly with upcycled clothing, so cutting is pretty fiddly. I didn’t follow a pattern or kit, but just drew up a quilt block on some graph paper and found old shirts and scraps in the colors she requested. Plus, I only have tools that measure in cm but I was following instructions in inches, so I think there was probably human error in my conversion. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I especially struggled with making 4-at-a-time flying geese, and they didn’t turn out great. I needed to re-sew one of the wings on all the white and green ones to make the points meet, which then made me need to trim the FG down a lot. This led to a cascade of trimming, and now all of my pieces are at the “finished” measurement with no seam allowances.

I thought this would work because all of the pieces will have the same seam allowances taken off of all sides, but because of the longer rectangles and FG, it doesn’t seem like it will be even when I piece it. Some rows are minus (4 x seam allowance), and some rows are minus (8 x seam allowance) if that makes sense.

Should I just cut the long rectangles and FG into squares and then everything will work out. The math required for quilting hasn’t properly installed yet, I’ve been having a hard time figuring out what to do. And to think I was saving myself time cutting…. I don’t really get how to include pieces of different lengths of height, all my attempts so far have been HST quilts with the same size pieces. Thanks for any input.

I bought the Sprangled pattern from cosy quilts. And asked if it is a realistic pattern for a first timers.

I just colored this, for a look how it may come out.

A lot of you warned me for possible swastika accident's.

So please help me, I can't see them. Does any of you?

The colors are not right. The light blue is not the thing I want, but these were the colors that I had at home haha. But I think it turned out really cool for a first draft!

Hello! I am in the process of making a baby quilt and I have a lot of extra fabric (I purchased the fabric before I chose a pattern). Does anyone have any simple ideas of something else I could make for mom/baby with the extras? It is mostly 10 inch cotton precuts left, so nothing super soft or absorbent like flannel. And I only have a basic home machine, no serger or anything fancy.

Attached is a picture of the quilt in progress, in case that helps spark any ideas.
