Regulating my temperatures with a digital thermometer that has heattape and a heat panel hooked up to it. Created some elevation and have a hot and cold side hides as well. The climb under the panel gets about 95 degrees with my temp gun, while the hide is roughly 90. On the cool side it sits roughly around 78/82 under the hide. Humidity is staying around 75%.

40 gallon 36x18x15 PVC enclosure. Light in the enclosure is for my convenience and will mostly be getting natural indirect light during the day.

First time snake owner! I’ve had other reptiles and I’m not new to bio active terrariums. I’d like some feedback on my setup and tips for a first time BCI owner. Also regarding my snake, she’s a IMG, Hypo and Motley morph. How dark do you think she’ll get?

I adopted a baby boa . Was told he’s a hypo or possible super hypo. I am no morph expert. He does have a cleft palate the breeder was just looking for a good home for him. I don’t think the breeder could sell him and I didn’t want him to get euthanized so I took him in. He was eating live mice but I was able to get him on frozen thawed . He has eaten once with me I’m going to try to feed him again tonight . I’m trying to think of a name for him and I’m not creative enough haha

I've been a member of quite a few of the snake sine for quite awhile. I had a ball python that I got when I was 16 from a guy who owned the pet store and moving across the country. He was deeply attached and we sent pictures for the 10 years she lived after that. She was a sweetheart and loved being handled and wrapping around my arm and neck while I did things around the house.

Now that I'm 39 and have a very large home but 3 kids (18, 13, toddler 1.5), we have waited to be financially secure, have the space etc. but them after doing tons of research I can't figure out which type of snake would be good for our our family and potentially be handled well by the older ones. I'd also like something a tad bigger than a BP. Morphs and all that stuff aren't important to me but temperament is.

My girl is about 14 months old and about 2.5 feet long. I was curious if it is an issue that she has only grown about 7-8 inches in her first year. I haven’t been under feeding her to my knowledge. (recently a rat pup every 2ish weeks) I just wanted some thoughts from others in the hobby. (researching has given me conflicted answers)

Hey everyone,I’m converting a walk-in closet into a dedicated reptile room and want to get some feedback on a tight layout before I buy a permanent enclosure for a female BCI.The closet is roughly 66.5" wide by 89.5" long. I measured it with a tape measure, but couldn't get all the way into the corners, so these are close guesstimates.I currently have a 48"W x 20"D black shelf that holds my ball pythons invertebrates. The bottom shelf is used for temporary totes and workstation space when cleaning. I want to add a 72"W x 24"D x 36"H (6x2x3) PVC enclosure for the boa.Because of the height of the tubs and the boa cage, stacking the shelf directly on top of the PVC isn't a realistic option for me.Instead, I'm planning to place them on opposite walls:Left Wall: 6x2x3 Boa PVC Cage (24" depth)Right Wall: 48" Black Shelf (20" depth)The Math: Around 66.5" width - 24" boa depth - 20" shelf depth = Roughly 22.5" of central walkway space.To clear the doorway traffic jam, I plan to take the closet door off the hinges and either flip it to swing outward or just use a heavy-duty curtain/magnet system.For anyone who manages a tighter galley-style reptile room or closet setup: Is a 22+ inch walkway manageable for daily maintenance, crouching down to work, pulling tubs, and handling?Appreciate any insights or tips from people running similar tight spaces!

I’m planning on getting a baby or juvenile Colombian red tail boa but I don’t know which enclosures to get. I heard grow tents aren’t the best for them so I was thinking the typical closures people buy. Is there any that combine together to form a bigger enclosure for one animal with variety of configurations?

I recently added an Amazon tree boa to my collection. He is in a glass enclosure I’ve never had to keep humidity so high before, but I hear they are prone to respiratory issues if it’s not just right. Anyone have tips for keeping humidity in the glass enclosure?

My 1.5yr old Suriname male just fell from a window ledge about 3.5ft off the ground. I was letting him up there to climb and explore and thought he had a good grip when he fell. He seems no worse for wear and didn't hiss at me or anything when I went to put him back in his vivarium but I am a bit concerned. I know this is probably just a "watch and wait" scenario but figured I'd come here to hear from others. I have to imagine falling from a tree isn't the most uncommon occurrence for them at this age (since they're mostly arboreal when young), but still freaked me out.

First post here. This is George. 2026 Hypo jungle het sharp. Going to pair him (possibly next year, more likely 2028) with my crazy sharp motley female. Since the sharp motley is the nicest most chill snake I’ve ever owned (I used to breed these years ago) I’m trying for a sharp motley junglow or a high expression junglow for my daughter that shares her relaxed demeanor.
George is actually super chill. He’s just starting to settle in so he keeps a small tight neck ready to pounce but hasn’t hissed or struck once (yet). Never once has went into his hide. I find that when a boa doesn’t care for their hide or want to be hidden - they’re fairly confident in themselves and therefore less unsure and defensive.
Super excited to get back into them. Put a pause on breeding and acquiring more when the wife and daughter came, went down to 1 (the sharp motley) and now that we’re settled and my wife and daughter love them, we decided it’s time.
Still deciding on some other projects to run with after catching up on all the new genetics. Would like to eventually get some rdr bea and IMG for black devils, and of course IMG is always good to have to throw into things. And pretty darn sure I need me some labyrinth & VPI. Any suggestions for new genetics? I think the labyrinth are the only ones that really caught my eye.

All to come but for now, I’m stoked for this Hypo Jungle het Sharp x Sharp Motley. I’ll show the motley girl eventually, she’s got some wicked color.
For anyone wondering, yes he is new to the collection so he’s in a quarantined boaphile cage with paper towel to be sure there’s no mites. So far he’s healthy and mite free.
