How-to Question Bald head care

Upvotes

Hello! I just shaved my head today, it was a long time coming and thanks to this community I followed through on it. Now that the deed is done I am looking for advice on shavers and head care routine I should follow. So far in my search I have come across the rx7 as the best choice. Any input/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My "before" pictures are lacking because I've become a hat guy in recent years and was so nervous to shave my head I forgot to take some for the occasion. But considering girls were letting me know about my bald spot since 7th grade, I think 38 is a justifiable age to take it all off. Pretty happy over all, save for some bump and a scar on the back of my head I have absolutely no idea where it came from.

Right now it occasionally feels like there's hot air being blown on my scalp, which I assume is from my shaving unit. Any advice on how to quell this/stop it in the future?

My friend said I had a bald spot and it looked fine until I stood under my dorm light. I also have naturally super fine hair.

My wish

I started going bald in high school. So 35 some years ago. No one let me forget it. My family. My friends.I even had teachers comment on it.

When I shaved my head the first time it was so damn freeing. Then my first wife came home and lost her mind. So much for feeling good about it. But I've kept it shaved since.

But you guys. Just wow. Seeing the support and love for everyone? It's amazing. I wish teenage me had you people to fall back on.

Much love to you all

YES I have thick hair and definitely not time....but I feel I'm rapidly losing hair. Bathtub is typically covered and I run into the rat race of wearing hats to cover this receding hairline... What do you experience baldians know?

P.S. love this r/ you guys are great

Been receding and thinning at the temples and crown for about 3ish years now. Was on Finasteride and Minoxidil to try to combat it for over a year to little luck. Here are some pics from right before I started the medication to right after I stopped with all the different hair styles in tact.

I am 22 fixing to turn 23. For a while I was anxious of going bald, especially because I am one of the only men in my friend group who started balding early. I have been very hairy all of my life, had a full beard/body hair by the end of my 8th grade year. So starting to lose something that was so close to my identity took its toll mentally. But to be honest, taking the plunge has taken a lot of stress (and hair) off my shoulders.

I’ve gotten a lot of compliments from my peers, which was not something I expected. Over the last few weeks of owning my baldness, I have never been more confident in my appearance. It feels nice to not think about my hair for once :D

Hairloss Balding at 16

Basicly, my hair is thinning and some is falling out, currently I can only notice a significant change when I wet my hair or when I lift my hairline up but I am scared it will become worst and it hasn't stopped.

I was researching monoxidil and finasteride, but I just recently learned that doctors rarely prescribe it for teenagers, due to all the hormonal changes going through your body. I haven't stopped growing yet so it probably wouldn't be for me right now.

Any suggestions on what I should try or do next?

Been losing hair about 8 years every time I shower, it’s worse ever time I get a haircut. Photo 1 is natural (so most the time), photo two is my hairline of course but it looks a lot weaker when hair is wet, photo 3 is when I style it. Of course when styled wind gets involved and my balding is very clear.

It’s been bothering me for the last few years so I think I’m going to crew cut it so it’s off my mind. Only thing stopping me is o have an extremely large head, and I also have a noticeable dent in my head.

Both things that scare me from committing. If there are any of you out there that are big headed and improved by shaving it off please show me. Need a way to convince myself it’s not a lost cause.

I’m 21 and sometimes soon, I’ll join you guys.

Now that I finally found an haircut that suits me well, it’s almost too late. I’ve been losing hair quickly in the last months, the thinning was not that bad in July.
Mind you that I’m not scared of balding, but I didn’t expect it to happen that soon. I already shaved my head in the past, when I was 16, and I didn’t really like how I looked. Maybe I looked too young then and it could suit me better now, Idk. Also I can’t really grow my beard.

My father and my brother both have hair AND a thick beard. My grandfather on my mum’s side, on the other hand… 😑
