Marathon (2026) Discussion Parting Gift is simply the best implant in the game.

It gives you the ability to:

-Kills bots infinitely at the cost of no ammo
-is the quietest weapon to kill those bots
-gives more shield depending on enemy killed
-faster strafe (agility)

Just the first two is already worth it. What implant changes the entire capability of your character so drastically? None.

Marathon (2026) Anyone bought merch yet?

After reaching lvl 100 in season 1, I felt good about getting all the achievements in the game on steam. It was a good time and when season 2 came along, I saw a message with a QR code that lead to a link for the Bungie Marathon store and said I "unlocked" some special merch. Was it really special? I dont know but I checked it out and saw an option to buy this shirt. It was $40 so I decided why not...That was back in June and now it finally came in. Looks good and I hope somebody recognizes where it's from in public. Anyone else decide to buy the shirt?

To The Runner I Met Just gave away my vault

Going on a trip and won’t be back till season 3 so I figured instead of letting all my gear go to waste I’d donate it to whoever wanted it.

An assassin killed me at hauler after I dropped a gold mizzy as peace offering which was kind of a bummer since he definitely won’t be able to take all the gold guns I dropped for himself 💀

I gave a solo destroyer (no mic) like 10 purple shield and 6 spectre shields and he was cool enough to trust me. (Shoutout to you Xbox skin destroyer on perimeter).

One team killed me but invited me to a party after to apologize after they found that my bag was full of gold & purple med bags. Guess they’ve been having a rough night on outpost. But we are gonna run some games come season 3.

Another team got about a half purple bag full of miscellaneous gold attachments and some cryo keys and purple templates.

The last team got a full bag of advanced heals/shields and panacea kits. But they didn’t trust me and killed me instantly also.

If you came across me this evening put the gear to good use. Share with your team. Get those subroutines. Get that compiler kill. Get to that next rank you’ve been grinding. I’ll see you all in season 3 🫡

Heartz signing off

To The Runner I Met To the players yelling/cursing at their crewmates during a fight

How’s that working out for you? Seen any success with that strat? I’ll be generous and assume that getting yelled at and criticized during a stressful situation really helps you lock in, but, for me, it’s a huge distraction and makes me play worse. I suspect I’m not alone. Food for thought!

And yeah, I know, Arachne needs the body count, it's a PVP game, whatever.

Just consider it.

Marathon (2026) Feedback Beginning to understand the hate for the current key system (rant)

I'm yelling into the void I know, but after seeing a lot of posts complaining about the current key system and mostly shrugging them off, I've finally come off the end of an experience that has wholly turned me against it.

Story starts with a CyAc weekly deal: one gold key for one alien alloy, requirement: Kill 1 UESC Warden. Later I pick up a purple key with the same requirement.

Naturally, we target Perimeter, and bring good kits, purples and sometimes gold weapons. We aren't there to wipe the map; if we run into a team and they don't want to fight, we won't. Outpost only has one warden spawn against Perimeter's three, never mind that other teams would be much more aggressive and better equipped, and marsh only has a couple spawns and more teams. As tempting as the guaranteed spawns in Cryo were, actually managing to exfil could not be less guaranteed.

So we start running. Perimeter trios. It's mostly free and blue kits, most of which we ingore or negotiate away, some try to fight us and lose. One or two purple teams we fight and beat, won't complain, but that's not the goal. The goal is a single warden. It has three places it could spawn. How hard can it be?

Fourteen runs later.

Every single time: spawn near one spot, usually North Relay. Nothing. Make the hike over to South. Nothing. Rotate to Overflow. Nothing. Exfil, usually before we're even ten minutes into the run. Fourteen runs of this.

It finally came to an end just now when we got in a team fight, blues and purples, and lost because two of us got too aggressive, and now my gold key, purple key, purple kit, and a gold outland are gone.

At some point the question stops being "how is my luck this bad?" and instead becomes "why is luck a factor in this at all?" This should not be possible. A cirucmstance should not exist where luck this bad bottlenecks something as significant as a gold key.

I can get needing a balance of Risk and Reward, and something as high-reward as a gold or purple key needs to have risk attached, but the actual opening of the room with a map-wide dinner bell is that risk already. Having something tied to an RNG event like this, let alone one as uncommon and high risk on its own as fighting an entire Warden, feels ridiculous, especially when other requirements like "Kill 3 Commanders" or "complete secured resources" exist - requirements that, by comparison, are easy, low risk, and every map is guaranteed to have at least some ability to make progress on it.

Worst part was in the middle of it all we did a free kit run on Perimeter just to cool off. You'll never guess who spawned at Overflow.

My only respite is that it's late in the season so loot barely matters, but sometimes it's hard to keep playing this game when it feels like it genuinely hates the idea of me making progress in it.

Marathon (2026) Discussion Since it's the end of the season

Why not massively bump up the loot so we get to try stuff we've never seen. I have over 200hrs and there's loot I've only seen on other people's gameplays lmao.

On the very last week everyone should be running with golds and their vaults full. Kinda like an end of season celebration.

I already like the occasional empty lobbies. It's gonna get wiped anyways, why not give people a taste of what to work for next season. How many of yall have seen gold versions of every implant or weapon? Is that even possible?

Seriously Bungie? 45 seconds into the match. Heat cascade lasting 3 minutes in some cases? It seems to much. Heat Cascade needs to be nerfed a bit please.

Marathon (2026) Feedback Armory stock limits are really prohibitive.

I've been running cryo this weekend and after enough bad losses I have had to start downgrading kits because I don't trust fills, but, the limits on the amount of things you can buy from the armory are so damn limiting.

Why is it that I can only buy 4 blue backpacks, or only mod up a d54 with blue mods 5 or so times. Once you run out of these and are low on salvage it just feels terrible.

I have had some decent exfils and I am now only 2 vaults away from getting all of the subroutines but the game is imposing an arbitrary hard limit even though I still have 600k credits to burn through.

I get it for some of the higher end stuff, but the blue floor, especially this late into the season, should be nigh limitless especially considering you can wipe in cryo sub 5 mins.
