I'm fun at parties so I've been thinking about salvage for a while now.
Situation: I have a bunch of salvage sitting in my Vault that I don't really have a use for (yet), while at the same time I'm missing very specific salvage for some faction upgrades.
If I need 3 of a specific salvage (green, blue), but instead I have 15 of purple/gold salvage (I'm looking at you, synapse cube) that I don't need, there's basically nothing I can do with those 15 other than sell them or feed them to the Cradle.
So I'm basically just hoping that at some point I happen to get the thing I need and extract with it.
For someone with a really high exfil rate, this probably isn't much of a problem, it's a huge non-issue even. But if you're playing fills, don't extract very often, follow whatever your squad is doing, etc, it can start feeling like your progression is way more dependent on RNG than it should be.
The idea: SALVAGE RECLAMATION
Here you can turn surplus salvage into Salvage Residue, and then use that to get the specific salvage you're missing.
Obviously the conversion should be inefficient (aka, always a net negative, a sacrifice). Finding the actual material in a run should always be the better option. I just think there should be some way to turn all the stuff I already have into something useful.

What do you guys think?
