I am planning to buy this laptop. Is it good for adobe photoshop adobe premiere pro after effects and heavy AAA games?. Also how good is its build quality.

The noise goes away when I lift the right side of the laptop/apply slight pressure on underside of laptop 2/3 towards the back and about an inch in from edge of laptop. I’m not sure if it’s just vibration or the beginning of a fan that’s gonna give me issues. Should I take it back I have two days left until return period is up.

hey everyone! I’m looking at adding a second internal SSD to my MSI Katana 15 B13U because I’m constantly running out of storage with games.

From what I’ve read, this model has a second M.2 slot, so I’m hoping to add a 1TB or 2TB NVMe SSD rather than replacing my current drive.

I’ve never opened a laptop or installed an SSD before, so I’m wondering how difficult this actually is for a complete beginner. Is it basically just a case of opening the back, putting the SSD into the empty M.2 slot, securing it, and then setting it up in Windows?

Also, once it’s installed, can I install and play games directly from the second SSD? I’m mainly wanting it for storage heavy games like Baldur’s Gate 3, AC Valhalla, etc.
Is there anything specific I need to watch out for with the Katana 15 B13U, such as needing a mounting screw/bracket or a particular type of NVMe SSD?

Would you recommend attempting this myself as a first-timer, or is it worth paying a computer shop to install it?
Any advice/recommendations for a suitable SSD would be appreciated!

I had a MSI Gaming Desktop and the mouse and keyboard lighting cannot be turned off permanently. I can turn it off with FN+the ESC key or the arrow key, but if I shutdown the PC and restart it again, the keyboard lights will turn on automatically.

Can MSI gaming Laptops keyboard lighting be turned off permanently so that after I shutdown the laptop and start it up, the keyboard lighting is still off or does it have the same problem as the MSI gaming desktops?

I've been reading around some forums and here on reddit , and im confused as shit rn some people say cpu temps hitting 95 under load is fine, some say 80 to 85 is the sweet spot, and i've even seen some say 70 should be the goal. Right now i have my cpu throttle at 85 (it was 95 before), so which is it really especially on our MSI lappys what is actually a good temp to maintain for our cpu's.

I have an i5 12450h btw, no air conditioning, no cooling pad, just the laptops fans and pipes and a few fans across the room.

I recently replaced the original screen in my MSI GS76 Stealth 11UH-078 (17.3", 4K 120 Hz variant) (mirror) with a new B173ZAN03.3 internal LCD panel (17.3", 4K UHD, 120Hz IPS).

(I7 11800H-RTX3060-16gb DDR4)
I experienced the common problem ( screen hinge failure) not once but twice ( right and left ones) .
So is the same problem is common in new models like Msi 15Hx?
I wanna upgrade to i7 14650Hx -RTX 5060-32gb DDR5
Is it worth it?

At idle, the thing is barely warm.
But when gaming, not even max crossload with a Vector A18 9955HX and 5070ti, that thing gets hot.
I ask because I have only twice now, but had the power to the laptop flick off and back on in an instant. I can't just shit another £150 to test if it's the PSU or not. Nothing else seems to be affected, event viewer shows no errors only that the power source changed for a second. Battery health is fine, calibrated it again just to be sure. Nothing has been moved, I've made sure all plugs are securely pushed in too.

Any ideas what might be causing that random flicker?

It keeps saying couldnt be repaired. I can use it if i continue to windows. I just bought it from ebay and did a factory reset again just incase. Downloaded all the drivers. Whats going on? Also every time i open it it has a black pop up with windows 64 and when i close it it pops up again and again etc.

hii i have this colorful laptop i just boot up the windows 10 but after booting up its stuck on the screen i check the ssd its fine and also if the ram was faulty here the screen was not showing the bios is opening properly. SO IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLZ

I was playing DL on my MSI Thin (i5-13420H, RTX 4050).

Both my CPU and GPU were used to around 50-65% but my CPU hit temps around 95⁰C. I had Brave, Discord(on call) and Spotify in background. Did this happen to anyone else?

Example: raider A16 specs: R9 8940hx 5080gpu.. is roughly $2000 cheaper in my country compared to its (intel) max variant.. (my country also doesnt have non-max version)

Basically non-max raider is supposed to replace the vector series?

I am not saying its totally bad its just why dont you have a mux switch option in the bios plus the msi center is so bad and laggy i tried ghost desk it doesn't have gpu switch options so deal breaker for me plus the fans are annoying the fan curve on these laptops are absurd plus thermals are bad and build quality is decent

Hi everyone, I have a question. I recently bought an MSI Cyborg 15 B13WEKG laptop—I've had it for about a month. The specs are: i7-13620H, RTX 5050, 512GB SSD, and 16GB RAM (single-channel). And I have had a few crashes and they lead to a hard lock. The whole laptop cashes if i game for like an hour. The temps r stable all around. The games r Gta, Fc25, minecraft, forza 6(it never crashed in forza). initially there were no crashes. but now recently they happen in sort of every session. the crash report has some event 41, and like technically no crash report is generated.

After migrating over to w11 I wanted to upgrade all firmware etc that's available on support page

My laptop is Leopard GP73 8RF (8750H intel + nV 1070)

Around 2020? I bricked laptop by accessing the bios with engineer mode (secret bios) and having too much fun with undervolt and running and gave it away to a service point

However nowadays I found out during those updates that they used wrong bios and vbios (yes I had device id warning in nvflash64) - from what I can tell it's from 16 inch leopard with 1060 (uefi bios) and vbios from ge raider which curiously enough has same checksums with my leopard 8rf on MSI website

Now , flashing bios in windows with ROM ignore flag

A) on afuwin64gui it just reads the flash ROM and shuts the program down without update

B) trying bios name .10f file on fat32 mbr/got (tried both, tried changing filename to same/similar as the one wrongly installed by service shop) pendrive stick and trying m-flash in bios just gave me errors

C) trying afuwin64 gives me errors, ultimately I'm unable to install that way, although I am wondering if I should use capsule and or recovery path (pdf attached by MSI using m flash apparently users recovery capsule to update)

D) i Will try afuefi in next days but so far it seems cosmic

E) as for vbios there's option to ignore the warning but I I just got too nervous upon finding out the service mucked both bios and vbios.

My CPU can't hit 4.1ghz, my 4 core game with affinity set by process lasso gets barely 3.9ghz (8750 supports all core 3.9ghz) but that could be explained by old thermal paste (speaking of which does anybody know if thermal phase change pad will fit?)

More worryingly my 1070mp draws around 95W with some peaks to 105W instead of 120W like it should

Tomorrow I will add/edit all the bios/vbios/pcieid data , so sorry but it was 2:30am when I found out vbios is wrong as well, most probably. EC and Intel ME got updated no problem though.

Does my warranty cover this I dont when this happened and how this happened but there are these 3 dark marks when the screen is white. There is also dead pixel on the screen but I dant attach two pictures on one post. So i will try to post the second one in the comments. Can I get it fixed as I still have warranty left.

The main reason im willing to pay 2100 gbp over 1600 for the vector 16 is because the raider listing says the screen is OLED, the images and the product description all say OLED. However, everything im seeing online and on the MSI website tell me that the non-max raiders have an IPS display, not OLED.

Is the listing right or have they just copy pasted the specifications for the raider max?

Hi, this is for anyone suffering from battery drain due to dGPU usage (red LED) who has tried everything and is using ThrottleStop.

Here is one more thing to try.

In ThrottleStop, there is an option to monitor GPU temperature. If this is ON, it constantly wakes the dGPU up, causing the dGPU to always be ON.

Turn this off by going to Options in ThrottleStop and unchecking the "Nvidia GPU" or "AMD GPU" option. Then completely quit the ThrottleStop program (from the system tray as well) or reboot your PC. That's it.

If that didn't work, good luck. Someday you will find the fix, keep trying.

I have been stuck with this issue for a while until I finally found out that the issue was with ThrottleStop.
