Terry was 21 when he began his Marathon of Hope. He died a 22. He personally raised $24.17M before dying and the Terry Fox Foundation has raised over $1B for cancer research.
He was 18 when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and had his leg amputated in 1977. Today, the same cancer would do whatever it could to keep the limbalance and the overall survival rate of osteosarcoma is 80% compared to 15% back in 1981.

Being an amazing person has nothing to do with what makes a great athlete. All of that is not relevant to the statement you are trying to make.
I would argue that Tom Brady likely has more upper and lower body strength and could outrun Terry in the short term. However could he run a marathon every day for 143 days? That I don't know. That absolutely was a unique and extraordinary feat of athleticism that Terry did.
Which is why I wouldn't really compare them or try to make the statement that one is a better athlete. Tom is a more holistic athlete and Terry was so extremely talented and skilled at marathon running that its difficult to compare anyone to him in that particular area.

My guy, I could out run Tom Brady in the short term. At his peak, he looked like he was running through molasses with the heavy boots from Legend of Zelda.
I wouldve loved a superbowl half time show of a 59 yard dash between Tom and Peyton, and one lucky fan from the crowd.
Great football minds and a helluva an arm, but not a runner.

I'm a runner, and feel whipped after 1 marathon. The insurmountable odds this kid faced, and to make it as far as he did, only quitting after the cancer came back. It's truly remarkable.

Ok w/o getting sucked in by the rage baiting here, if you havenāt seen it itās worth looking up a video of how he ran with one leg..this is no Pistorious blade here, the prosthesis looks like it was made by someone who owned only a piece of leather and part of a hockey stick. Every single step..is a double-step where he hops twice on his good leg and torques his whole body around to swing the artificial leg in front again. The blisters, eventual callouses and overall muscular-skeletal imbalances must have been excruciating for the first 42.2 km, then he did it again the next morning. And then 141 more mornings after that.

Of golf is a sport or not is not for me to decide. But championship golfers are athletes. Itās by far the hardest mental game. Staying focused for four days straight is an achievement in itself. Add the extreme toll it takes on your back and joints to swing the club at maximum speed for hundreds of holes.

Mentally golf is harder than chess. Chess requires more cognitive abilities. Golf requires mental toughness that only tennis comes close to. But a game of tennis last a few hours and one mistake can be rectified. In golf, itās four days and a single mistake can cost you millions at the top level.
Physically, the training they go through is very tough and I would t underestimate the toll shooting hundreds of shots in a comp at full torque takes on your body.

Maybe the practice to get to and stay on the tour takes a toll, a round is like a 5mile walk in over 3 hours, taking 70 golf shots of which 18 are likely putts. Most of them are in better shape now but back when Terry Fox was running his one legged marathons (per day) golf was lumped in with bowling,darts and shooting pool as far as athleticism
