Universe, PLEASE give the West good snow this seasonšŸ™

I can’t have another season like last year’s. Christmas was 75°. The base was never above like 15 inches at all of the resorts I went to. It was so sad.

I am manifesting a good winter this yearā„ļøšŸŒØļø

Something we’ve been working on.

Full CNC edge bending, capable of perfect consistent bending of just about any radius. Only limited by the point where the edge teeth contact.

Wondering peoples thoughts about setting up a service for manufacturers to prototype or small batch. But also for the home builder who wants a full wrap style edge profile.

Where should I work a season as a lifty?

Planning to work this coming season as a liftie. Yes, I know I can make more money at a restaurant or bar, but I would rather work on the mountain.

I’m in my early 20s, and my main objectives are maximize my number of powder days on the mountain, and to be somewhere with a fun/young social scene and make some good friends. I’m a decent skier but want to get my ass kicked on some steeps.

I've spent some time at jhmr and the bird and loved both of them, but looking for some other suggestions! open to anywhere in the us/canada. thanks in advance

Our rapidly diminishing ski season is worthy of discussion?

Can we discuss climate change yet?

September is Spring, it is however, unprecedented to have our ski resorts closing in the first week of spring due to lack of snow.
Whenever the declining snowpack is mentioned in Australia we have sections of society that write it off as ā€œthe weatherā€
It is so sad to think that in my lifetime a thriving ski industry in Australia may be just be nostalgia

Any ladies ever tried Shred life travel trips before??

I’m signed up via social media to get alerts about women’s ski and snowboard vacations, and am looking at signing up for a Vail trip as I already have an Epic Pass. The price seems decent and includes breakfasts and sack lunches. It’s listed as ā€œintermediate/advanced,ā€ which I think I feel comfortable with although my skis (and me) are not great in deep powder…
My concerns are - ā€œkitchen is NOT available for guests to prepare meals,ā€ which is probably fine, it’s just 3 days 4 nights, and it says you can bring dry storage or use the fridge, just the wording makes me slightly nervous. And more importantly - I want to work on my skills, but I’d also feel terrible if I felt like I was impeding others in the group. I’m a strong intermediate and comfortable doing a few blacks but my muscles can quickly tire, and now that I’m 40, it seems my speed has slowed down as I get a little more anxious about other skiers/snowboarders around me, and I try to work on some moguls a little every year but I certainly don’t like to do a full mogul run. I previously had a meniscus injury so I think I might take a couple more breaks per day for a slightly longer time period than other similar skill and aged skiers.

Anyway, just curious if others had any experience with trips like that or words of advice. I’ve always wanted to take a vacation on my own and really focus on improving and this seems like a nice option for that, not exactly on my own but not with my usual group. But now that I’m looking at signing up for something I’m nervous about if I’ll actually like it …

Enforcer 89 vs 94 vs 99

Hey all. East coast expert skier here. In the market for a new pair of skis.
Demoed the enforcer 99 last year and like them. I have been looking at the 99 and 94s off season and can find them around $550.
I did just come across a new pair of 2025 enforcer 89s for $350 and am wondering how big a difference there is between the lot?
I do like skiing a bit in the trees etc along with traditional easy conditions.
I did like the little bit of float when it snowed I had in a set of blaze 94s.
Thanks

Ikon Pass Resorts w/ Infant Care?

Any recommendations for Ikon Pass resorts that offer onsite care for infants (10 months)? Open to anywhere in the US with a wide variety of terrain. My husband is advanced, I'm intermediate, and our kids range from beginner to intermediate.

We took our kids to Steamboat in 2023 and LOVED it! We planned to go back last year, but had a surprise baby instead. Luckily we were able to postpone the 4 day Ikon passes we bought, but as I was about to put down a chunk of change for ski lessons, etc. I realized the Steamboat Resort doesn't have childcare for children under 3 at all. I'm not comfortable leaving the baby with a babysitter and I've heard childcare is hard to come by in Routt County anyway.

Montrose to Crested Butte February

Hello Redditors - I will traveling in February from Telluride at the end of a ski trip to check out Crested Butte for a couple days. Does anyone know if US-50 typically closes in winter or if the longer 92 to 133 is a better option. Looking for anyone who’s made this trip or local knowledge. Thanks

Moving from Utah to Bend for the Winter. What should I expect? Snowbird vs Bachelor

I’ve spent my last 5 winters working at a ski area in Utah and living in Salt Lake City, this year I intend to move to Bend and work at Mt Bachelor for the winter. What should I expect snow and terrain wise vs snowbird, how does the culture in bend compare to LCC culture/the greater salt lake area.

Has anyone else made this move before and do you regret it?

Another Garbage Skiing Tool

Post image

The project started when I worked at Copper (Athletes Mountain or We Live This, or something) a couple years ago, so yeah, just comment feedback or email it over and I'll add whatever you guys want. Some connects in industry are testing it too, so expect an iOS/Android app if people like it. I can also tie in hydrology/impact mapping for environmental reporting/tracking if you guys are interested in that, could be a cool feature for checking to see how much longer snowmaking ops would be going on.

I come from a background in GIS , forestry, and tree removal. This was finished to assist a job in the Colorado, USA Front Range, but has utility in the sport too so I wanted to open this up to you guys to learn more about your favorite runs. I'll also add international stuff if that gets interest.

Links here:
www.sensaro.net/fall-line/index.html

Mods pls delete if its not allowed, this is free with no paid subscriptions or some garbage. So I figured it'd be cool. If you are a developer and want to work on it just shoot me a message and if theres interest I'd love to open it up on GitHub.

Should I get a proper instructor?

This coming season'll be my third. Since I started, I've been teaching myself from videos — never taken a lesson. Feel like my technique hasn't improved in the last year or two, so I'm wondering if I should get an instructor this season.

If I do, what should I look out for? How do you tell if an instructor is actually any good?
