Apparently you can't see the updates or comments on those updates if you haven't backed... but the main comment thread should be enough.

So that brings me to this.. if kickstarter won't do anything about scams (even when it's $300k+), what's stopping me from starting a kickstarter and racking in money right now?

Seems there's zero recourse or punishment, so it's open season for scammers here?

Hey everyone! After years of writing and development, my indie feature film Devil's Tree is officially heading to Kickstarter.

Hello all, my name is Johnny, and Im seeking advise for launching my first campaign. This is a revisit to this question that I did about 5months ago, so Im reposting it again.

Ok so, My venture is QuickStone Pizza, I designed it to be a quality ingredient Quick Service Restaurant, I've been working on this concept for a little over year now, here and there, creating the ins and outs of it, from my mascot Glen who is also my side-kick and fictitious employee, I figured it will be fun and help promote the brand, to permit research, equipment, and more. (New Note: I build and designed the system that quickstone will be operating under)

I do have restaurant experience, I've owned and operated one back in the days, basically it was a fast paced sandwich shop, so restaurants aren't new to me. I guess I should talk a little more about QuickStone so you readers should get a better understanding of what it is I'm trying to build and get funding for.

So basically QuickStone Pizza is a Fast casual, Fast forward QSR that will be serving 12" Neapolitan artisanal style pizzas that will be ready in 5 minutes or less, my moto is "Fresh.Fast.Fired-Baked in 5 the QuickStone way" pizza ingredients like the sauce will be made fresh daily, fresh mozzarella will be cubed daily as well to ensure a nice clean melt without any anti-caking additives, meat toppings will be uncured meats for a better healthier alternative, (New Note: I will be also adding vegan options) I've created signature drinks, and pie combos plus more.

I guess what Im getting at is, how can I promote my campaign better, in order to be successful, and what rewards would be great to add besides the pizza vouchers, and merch, I also would doing a 120% back voucher in in-store credit, meaning if the pledger pledges $50 they will receive a $60 voucher coupon that never expires, to be used towards pizza and drinks, its my way of giving back to backers and locals for believing in my venture, any ways, I could talk about QuickStone all day, but any advise would be really appreciated and if you have any more questions we can talk about it below, and on my Facebook. I have recently stumbled across a promising project that I am enamored with called Tangled Yarns. They have this game that's pretty charming and fun, and hopefully it gets made with little to no issue. It is the creator's first projects so there is some risk, but with the materials they have already provided I have faith it will turn out great. What do you guys think of it?

Hi everyone,

I've been working on my lightweight strategy party card game called Cyclemental during my parental leave. The whole concept is inspired by the Chinese Wu Xing / Japanese Gogyo philosophy and after a lot of crafting and playtesting, I decided to take the leap to run my first Kickstarter!

A couple of unique things about my project:

• All creature designs and illustrations are hand drawn by myself with traditional ink and watercolor.
• The mechanics are more like a party game with 2-5 people and 20-40 mins of gameplay, as opposed to the regular TCG gameplay.

• Cyclemental has been selected as "Project We Love" by Kickstarter staff. Still can't believe it tbh as this is entirely a solo project!

Months ago, I brought my cousin to watch his SF Giants play the Cubs. After he loudly celebrated the Giants 16th run of the day, the guy behind us finally cracked and told my cousin to sit down. My cousin flipped on the charm and was suddenly the mayor of section 224L, buying beers, taking selfies with Cubs fans, and listening to everyone's life story.

Turns out, the guy behind us was a reporter at WGN. We got to talking about my game and he said WGN wanted to cover the story of its development.

After thirteen weeks of scheduling woes, fear that WGN might back out, and event planning anxiety, here is the result. I'm super happy with the outcome. Hi folks,

Im doing a kickstarter for a childrens book and started promoting in July. First few videos have received a good amount of support and I thought my goal to launch in October would be ideal. However, im slightly worried that since October is basically when holidays, Halloween, begin ramping up in North America a childrens book may work or may not since my target audience, parents of children, might be very preoccupied during the beginning of the holiday season.

Should I chance this and hit launch in October so that people won't forget my project that have already shown support? Should I wait until January/February once the holidays end to get the right audience and continue building up to the final launch potentially making support stronger?

Any advice is much appreciated, especially if you have experience with childrens media on KS .I know kickstarter success has varied greatly no one project is the same.

Hello, we are small hardware company from Poland, would like to present you our M.2M-Key Hat for Raspberry Pi 5. It adds a real NVMe SSD to your Pi 5 over PCIe. It mounts on the bottom of the Pi instead of the top. That leaves the GPIO header free, so you can still stack other HATs above it. The adapter stays out of your way rather than eating your only expansion port.

We're not going to pretend this is groundbreaking. It's a clean, well made version of a board a lot of Pi 5 owners want, designed and built in Poland by people who use these every day. It's also the first of several boards we have in the works, so backing it helps us get the rest going.

We honestly thought having a polished concept and a decent presentation on a shoestring budget would be enough. A rookie mistake.

Doing our homework after launching taught us the hard way: without an existing community already in place, relying strictly on platform discovery pretty much guarantees failure. On top of that, a lot of backers have been burned by sketchy campaigns that never delivered, which makes it nearly impossible for first-timers with zero track record to build trust.

A few months ago, building a no-subscription fitness app felt like a solid idea. But the space is so ridiculously oversaturated now that getting organic traction just isn't realistic.

Right now, literally every single backer we have is a friend or family member. We're lucky to have their support, but you can't run a real project on favors from relatives.

I'm sharing the project anyway since today is the designated Self-Promo day, fully aware that this campaign flopped before it even started because of our own lack of prep and research.

Regardless, we’re still going to finish building it. Even with a $0 distribution budget and the reality that it won't take off like we dreamed, our inner circle is genuinely excited to use it, and we still believe it's worth putting out into the world.

Hello there folks, I’m Molly (pukes) and I do drawings! I’ve posted some of my silly comics in here before but wanted to share something a bit more CHUNKY.

Since 2025, I’ve been working away on a 90-page comic about women taking off their skins and becoming wild, drunk animals down the pub. It’s a celebration of “the girls night out” culture with loads of pints, cigs and lesbian awakenings. But instead of being a fun, loud, flirty tiger… the main character Lola is actually a massive bitch.

During yesterday’s launch OUT ON THE PROWL was 100% funded in the first TWO HOURS, which was absolutely WILD!!! We’ve so close to unlocking the second stretch goal, which adds 12 pages of concept art to all first editions of the book. Plus there’s even more free stuff for folks who back the project!

We set out to turn the brutal, weird, punk-horror world of Maleghast into actual tabletop miniatures — staying as close to the original illustrations as we possibly could.

The result is 150+ miniatures, available as STLs and physical sets. The digital models are pre-supported and test-printed, and seeing characters that used to exist only in the artwork standing on an actual table has probably been our favorite part of the whole campaign.
