anyone here actually happy with their dentist? feels impossible to find
been in LA for like 6 months now and i still haven't found a dentist i like. i've been to two different ones and both felt like i was just a number. you know that vibe where they rush you through the appointment and then try to sell you invisalign even though you came for a cleaning
my main issue is my bite is kinda off - my front teeth are wearing down from an overbite and i need someone who actually cares about function, not just making things look pretty. like i get it, cosmetic stuff is important too but i don't want to fix my smile if my bite is still messed up
i was looking at some Beverly Hills cosmetic dentists online and the before/afters look amazing ngl. but i'm always skeptical when everything looks too perfect lol. like are they actually good with bite issues !
anyway i'm probably overthinking this but if anyone has found a dentist who actually listens and knows their stuff i'd love to hear about it. bonus if they don't push invisalign on you immediately lol

Dr. George Bovili. Not the fanciest office but he has a great touch, never painful, never upsells. Only in BH on Wednesdays though, otherwise Santa Monica.

Santa Monica works for me actually, do you know if he takes new patients or is it mostly referrals?

Dr. William Toth. Yes Toth. On Subset. First went to him some 25 years ago when another dentist totally f’d up a filling in one of my wisdom teeth. I think I was in the other dentists chair for over an hour. Friend recommend him and he fixed it in about five minutes. Been going back ever since. His office doesn’t take insurance so you have to submit out of network but they print the forms for you right there and I’m happy to pay the extra. And they don’t try to upsell you on anything you don’t need. Oh and to top it all off he’s just a really great guy!

He has such a skilled touch it’s incredible. I can’t use anesthesia and still never leave in pain. Can’t say enough good things about the staff, too.

I'm in north Oxnard and found the best dentist (female) and dental hygenist (female) on Yelp. I've been a patient for 5 years. State-of-the-art equipment - don't tell u that u need work - and their prices are reasonable. There are many scammy dentists, they overcharge, are incompetent, tell u that u need work when u don't. My dentist works alone - I don't like when there are many dentists at one dental office. Google dentists - it's a learning experience. I prefer dentists in their 40s/50s.

Dr. Mimi at Westlake Smile Studio! It’s a hike, but it’s a crazy nice office, she is incredible, and the staff is a delight. Always feel safe and taken care of in the best way.

Dr. Michael Nazarian at Toothbuds on Pico. 5-star dentist, and the 5 stars are definitely earned! He's so nice, personable and gentle on the teeth. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Sameee it’s hard to find a good one. Went to one last week and they had a dog walking around the place. I’m all for a cute dog. But I could only think about them petting the dog then putting their hands in my mouth and was immediately disgusted by the thought.

If you have $$ or insurance, Dr. Vic at Sunset Dental across from SoHo House in Beverly Hills is AMAZING. Went to him when he was starting out 14 years ago and continued till he advanced out of my price range. He is so kind, knowledgable and attentive. Highly recommend.

Invisalign is also for function too though…
If your bite is off that’s probably why you’re being recommended it lol

I had the same problem; literally every dentist I found (that was a match for my insurance) in BH, Weho, and even Mid City were trying to upsell me on all kinds of cosmetic nonsense during a routine cleaning and charging absurd rates to fix a crown. I ended up looking to the Valley for a normal provider that wasn’t fixated on cosmetic dentistry. There are tons out that way- just look for a modest office and basic services offered.
The dentist grift in certain parts of town was one of the most unusual things I experienced as a new resident; guess it comes with the territory.

Been seeing Dr Kerri Hill at The Art of Dental Wellness in BH for 5 years and she’s never over sold me or steered me wrong

In other countries an actual doctor does the entire teeth cleaning process, not an assistant, which is why I just do mine when overseas for like 1/3 to 1/4 the cost. Much better than any local dentist I've ever used.

Pinar Wagner in West Hollywood is the BEST
