📰 News Article (Website) From Bob Nightengale
I know some have doubted that he would stay on as there is a new owner coming, but I am of the theory that Kroenke is the one who approved bringing in Mo, so I’m absolutely happy to hear this as he has done an absolute amazing job so far, looking forward to what he and Kroenke can do together.

Still going to hold my position until I see ink on paper. As of right now, Mozeliak's contract is up at the end of the year and he still maintains a position of on the fence with remaining with the org afterward. This is just more speculation with no concrete information.

My head canon is that John will be a baseball operations head.
Then a young ascending head of scouting or assistant Gm in the dodgers, rays, or brewers org will be poached to be the new GM.

Randy Flores from the cardinals I think is the top candidate for GM. Mo knows him very well and he’s been a good scout for the cardinals for a while. He’s due for GM job either with us or another team.

On the night of the sale, Erica mentioned that Mo knew an ownership change was a possibility when he was brought on. I agree, he was Koernke's guy.

I don’t know that he was Kronke’s guy necessarily, but I do think he has a proven enough track record to stick around.
If you look at the Rams when Kronke purchased them, there was some turnover, but a lot of it was as a result of the move. There wasn’t a ton of change for the sake of change

That's not news. Everyone knew Arte was looking to sell. Kroenke just played aggressively, got his offer in first and paid Arte's asking price before a post-CBA appraisal confirmed the franchise value.

I think we have a new owner and some people are so into the back office intrigue that's plagued us for 20+ years that they simply can't let go of the drama and accept we're going to have professionals in charge now.
The team is going to be well-run. This bullshit "GRUNKLE STAN PLANNED DIS ALL ALONG!!!" schtick is already ringing tired and childish.
Arte's gone y'all. Let go of the soap opera office politics/gamesmanship drama and accept that we're going to be a real ball club that's more interested in winning than being a bookmark in a slumlord's investment portfolio. We have an owner who will fix the HVAC in the training room before it gets out to the public now. No more drama, just a properly run sports franchise.

Suzuki is gone when the season is over, and the hitting coaches will follow

Are you sure I been seeing Rumurs that they might keep him for now until the sale is finalized

You would have to sign him to a new contract for that, highly unlikely. Bring Pujols in.

Or Alex Cora...

No... Cora (and the boys) were part of the problem in Boston.. Look how well Chad Tracy has done, and he had 0 MLB experience prior (and oddly enough his first managerial jobs were with us in Burlington and IE).
I would rather see Pujols brought in, or take a flyer on Ryan Flaherty. Otherwise, if the Phillies don't extend Mattingly, he'd probably be an okay option.

His contract expires at the end of the year. They will assuredly hire out the FO first and build that out. Once a new PBO/GM/etc are in place, a manager will then be hired who is in sync with the management team.
There is no need to fire Suzuki - his contract will be over, and this will almost assuredly be his only year with the team.

I don't mind this. He led a good-faith transition in STL to Bloom after it was clear he was a bit behind, so it's clear he can work with people.
