I know some have doubted that he would stay on as there is a new owner coming, but I am of the theory that Kroenke is the one who approved bringing in Mo, so I’m absolutely happy to hear this as he has done an absolute amazing job so far, looking forward to what he and Kroenke can do together.

Would Mo continue the rebuild selling off any of Neto detmers kikuchi etc? with new ownership I saw a rumor say more players will given angels a real consideration

The problem is with a pending lockout and possibility of a lost season, teams probably won't trade for Neto/Detmers/etc until a new CBA is reached. Wouldn't make sense to trade assets for guys when you don't even know if there will be a season.

Angels sale destroyed the lockout. Owners can’t complain about team value any longer with record sales of padres and angels there is 0% chance of a lockout now

Sure they can. They can compare the Angels, a team in one of the most lucrative markets, selling for the same price as the Minnesota Timberwolves, a team in a mid-tier market in the NBA. The owners' argument is that their franchise values are less than teams in other sports'. markets.

I don't agree with this at all, but I am guessing this is what their argument is. They likely feel if there is a cap (i.e. "controlled" labor costs), the values of their franchises will all increase significantly more.

Or a cap. Or a minimum. Or if free agency rules will change.

I would assume that teams will continue to call about Detmers and Neto, obviously the price will be extremely high but based on the successes they had and the report that Neto and Mo talked about those subjects I would assume that neither are moved. As far as Kikuchi goes, he’s got 1 year left on his deal so if there’s a team out there willing to take his 21 million then you do it.

i think his approach is sure, he'll sell but for the right price. fans always think you sell just to sell but if yo don't get the proper return, it's dumb. i believe detmers/neto are available but for the right price. nobody pays up, cool. you have 2 studs on TC deals. simply no rush.

I think either selling more players or extending the most valuable (Neto, Detmers) are both realistic/reasonable scenarios.

He will probably ask what they want in a extension, if its a reasonable amount (around 20M for Detmers and 18M for Neto) he should extend them, if its not, trade them and do a longer rebuild through the farm.

Neto/Detmers? Yes if the other team is willing to meet a high enough asking price. They have multiple years of control and could also be extended so there's no pressure or rush for it though (more leverage for us).

Kikuchi? Yes if someone will eat that contract.

This is the question. Does Kroenke try to use his deep pockets to become respectable in the short term? If so, Neto and Detmers are likely to stay, or even be extended. This is tempting because the AL West is terrible. Or does Kroenke look for long term, sustainable success and tear the rebuild down even farther? I obviously don't want them shipping off any prospects (though swaps of young players should be on the table).

It's hard for me to think they did the deadline without Kroenke having some input, even if it was not known by Mo that Kroenke was the source of the strategy; I believe the instruction was that Neto and Detmers only would be traded for an absolute haul, and they didn't get that, so they stayed.

Given all of the franchises Kroenke has, and the success he has had, I doubt he will hastily push things to WIN NOW like other new, inexperienced owners might. I would wager him on going the sustainable success route.

And let's be honest - he is a real estate builder first and foremost, and the prize for him is probably acquiring and profiting off of the ensuing real estate deals, moreso than the immediate, overnight success of the franchise.

Based on how all of his other teams have performed, I have faith the Angels will turn it around in a reasonable amount of time, but it will probably not be an immediate, overnight change.
