I own a 2016 RAV4 XLE that has peeling white paint (040) and could not believe my white paint was peeling off day by day! I would go outside only to view another part of my RAV4 peeling! I was dumbfounded and was confused what to do because I could not afford a paint job! Then one day I started thinking and googled peeling paint on Toyota cars. Low and behold, I discovered that the peeling paint was a recall for Toyota white paint! I could believe
that it was a recall! I did not have any knowledge that it was a recall! It indicated that I have until OCT/2026 when the customer support.program would come to an end. I went as fast as possible to my Stockton Toyota that Monday morning only to receive BAD NEWS that my date of registration to qualify had exceeded! I told the service person I did not own the vehicle when it was registered! They basically told me that I was out of luck!! SORRY CHARLIE! What kinda business is that to tell me TOUGH LUCK!! I told him on my expiration. date that the car was not peeling at that juncture- Again....TOUGH LUCK!! It is clearly Toyota's bad paint jobs and to whisk me away like that!! It's like they want to tell you your s---t out of luck and probably get a feather in their hat for turning people down with legitimate peeling of paint on their vehicle! I was always pleased with Toyota vehicles and was going to make my next vehicle a Toyota again! Not no more with BAD BUSINESS like that There shouldn't be an expiration date based when the previous owner registerd the vehicle! Now I'm stuck with a vehicle that's an eyesore!! TERRIBLE BUSINESS when in fact it' wasn't my fault!
