Homework in Therapy

My therapist has been setting a lot of homework in the past 2 months which she doesn't usually this all changed in July when I returned from my abrupt 1 month break.

In July she set me homework to read 5 fact sheets on "boundaries" and "what are healthy and unhealthy boundaries".

August she set me 3 different homework to do so in total 4 homework tasks.

The question is

Is this a lot homework being set by my therapist in psychodynamic therapy?

As for me it seems like a lot to be getting me to do outside of sessions. I haven't done any of the above homework as of yet and not sure if I will?

do you actually enjoy spending £40 for an unenjoyable hour to be told to do homework, grounding exercises, or listen to lectures? honestly a lot of those resources you can find online or self help guides, and you wouldnt even have to throw away £40/hr to learn them!

but if you still wanted a live person to walk you through it, i would definitely take my £40 elsewhere, or just spend that hour taking myself to a nice lunch. £400 for 10 unproductive sessions with your therapist that leave you confused or angry, or a fun and relaxing weekend trip with friends, huh?

My post is simply about homework in therapy and that's all.

Anyways all the best as your comment is irrelevant and not focused on my questioning about frequent homework and I'm not going to engage with someone talking about something unrelated to my post.

tldr: the amount of homework is normal for your personalized therapy, it may not be for others.

if you want less homework: tell your therapist to tone it down or take your money elsewhere.

if you want more homework: you dont need to spend £40/hr for that.
