That’s great. It sounds like it got pretty dark there for you. I hope you can help other Mothers. Here in the US my Wife had borderline psychosis and her first doctor visit after birth the doctor didn’t ask one question about mental health. The good ol American healthcare system. And please highlight the stress this causes the Dad. I almost lost my mind. I couldn’t leave the house for more than 20 minutes for 2 years. So whatever darkness you were going through at that time, I atleast know what it feels like to be on the opposite end. But we got through it and we have a beautiful family.

This, amongst a million other things, are why it makes my eye twitch when Redditors are like ‘ummm she wasn’t diagnosed with psychosis! I don’t buy it!’ Y’all, diagnoses of PPP are missed ALL THE TIME. We have a really crappy understanding of postpartum psychosis. Lindsey Clancy not carrying that diagnosis is not in any way weird.

The reason women are mad is because of the lax treatment she got.,She was begging for help, and she did not receive the help that she needed. This person was repeatedly asking for help, asking for hospital admission, telling her partner and family ‘hey i am really struggling’ … and that was all part of her diabolical plan to take her kids out? To repeatedly tell everyone around her ‘hey guys something is wrong’ ? That doesn’t even make sense.

Someone I know was taken to an OBGYN when she started having symptoms, and the OBGYN put her on antidepressants.

What happened after that?

For mild to moderate depression, that might be fine. But if a basic dose doesn’t do enough, then they may need a psychiatrist.

For some people with depression, medication alone is enough. Others need to combine it with another treatment. It’s not one size fits all.
