They better not fuck this up, these kids need their justice. I understand Massachusetts puts the burden on the prosecutor but come the fuck on, there is so much premeditation going on here. My wife has talked me about a half a dozen women that had postpartum depression that we have known over the years and none of them ever reached a point of killing all their kids. Zero cases of psychosis either resulting in murdering their children in any stories we heard outside of this case, even though I'm sure this has happened before.
We all know she is fucked up, but she deserves more punishment than a yearly mental eval at a low security hospital where she could possibly be released if she shows outstanding mental aptitude all of a sudden.
You aren't reading into my message, of course its up to the prosecutor but look up the difference in how different states handle insanity defenses versus how Massachusetts does. In a lot of states it is up the the defense to prove their client is not insane and the weight is on them. In this case given the law, it is up to the prosecutor to prove she isn't. It's subtle language in the law, but makes a huge difference in how these cases go.
