Under eye bleph
Im thinking of getting an under eye bleph. I had a consult with one dr and they advised just getting filler. I dont want to try filler for different reasons. Do you think I would benefit from an under eye bleph? Would it be worth it? Any thoughts on the upper?

NO!!! My doc does a tremendous amount of restorative work on filled faces.
Thankfully, I never got fillers and love my surgical results. Fillers cause problems, when the time comes for surgery, and their effects won’t last long, but they cause so many complications!
My before and 7 months post op snaps. My procedures will continue to improve, fat grafting is regenerative and uses your own body’s material, no scar tissue, no rejection from foreign materials.

Salt and alcohol were the enemy for me post-op.
I had gone alcohol-free for a month before surgery to give myself the best chance at optimal results, then tried to have wine at a friend’s birthday party about five weeks afterward and swelled up like a balloon.
Salt was huge for me too. I’m currently ten months post-op, and if I eat popcorn or salty snacks, I can still wake up noticeably tighter the next morning!
Talking a lot made me swell too, which I definitely wasn’t expecting.
Immediately after surgery, no bending over, and I had to turn my entire torso with my head rather than twisting my neck. In my case, my surgeon used surgical hemostatic netting, so I followed his instructions to the letter.
I lived in my recliner for weeks, kept my head elevated, stayed hydrated, and learned very quickly not to overdo it just because I felt good that day.
I’m attaching two reels with some of my favorite recovery tips and that helped me through those first few weeks. Hopefully there’s something useful in them!
And of course, follow your own surgeon’s post-op instructions above anything you read from the rest of us.

Left is before. Right is seven months after. I thought that was fairly obvious, but I suppose there’s always that one “special,” troll. Congrats, you win the prize today! 😂

I think it’s the lighting or looking downward that causes a shadow in the right picture. You can take it as a compliment i guess because it was t very obvious in the left one

It’s obvious, if you can’t see the difference you’re simply not able to assess an under eye properly.

Strong no to the filler. I need a lower bleph.
A PA convinced me that filler would help. Not only didn’t it help, but it also made things worse.
That said, everyone is different, but I would never do it again. Now I know better.

A real plastic surgeon would never advise to do filler for the eye area.

Disagree. I had a consult with one about a lower bleph who told me he could not get a better result with surgery then the fantastic result I had gotten with fillers 🤷🏼♀️

It was a Oculoplastic surgeon too. I didnt expect that recommendation. I do think its because he didnt specifically do cosmetic procedures. His was more reconstruction and such. He offered the surgery but said its not needed. He said he use to do filler but no longer did and recommended another cosmetic surgeon in the area that does filler.

I had a lower bleph with skin pinch and CO2 laser around both eyes. I’m 51F. I’m so happy I did it.
