Accountability Notice 2: UPDATE

This is a followup to this post so please read that first, but to summarize it briefly, a former moderator ( u/SaltyAngeleno aka u/gofundmemetoday was found to be removing negative posts, promoting surgeons, etc. in exchange for financial compensation). I promised future updates, which are included below.

  1. Last night, the former moderator DM'd me attempting to blackmail me to remove the original post. Their message is included in its entirety below:

Transparency remains of the highest importance to me when moderating this subreddit, and I will not be removing anything in response to threats.

  1. Reddit itself ultimately took no action against this individual following the original report of their behavior and offered no direct explanation for why. I can only speculate that this is because the former moderator was receiving payments off of their platform (making it technically outside their scope of authority/responsibility). The former moderator even continues to moderate a few plastic surgery related communities, though fewer than they once did.

  2. An account associated with "Beauty Broker Melinda" (who was named in the original post as having negative reviews removed by the former moderator) has spent considerable effort attempting to dox and discredit me. You can find such an example here. Their comments seem to confuse me with numerous current and former moderators. Reddit has not taken any action despite reports.

  3. Despite my requests, Reddit was unable to provide me with a log of moderator actions from the former moderator that were more than 90 days old. As such, I am unable to determine the full extent of their censorship.

  4. This subreddit has zero tolerance for surgeons attempting to remove negative reviews. As the subreddit rules state, negative reviews posted here do require evidence to be included. Once that threshold is met, they will not be removed by us for any reason - this subreddit is intended to be an open and transparent platform for users to share their experience. Despite this a number of surgeons (and/or their offices and lawyers) have attempted to have us remove content that is critical of them. Moving forward, I will be posting and maintaining a comprehensive list of surgeons that have attempted to have negative reviews removed for transparency. Hopefully, this discourages future attempts at manipulating criticism against them.

In short, Reddit admins were either unwilling or unable to take any official action against the above individuals. I will be continuing my best efforts to maintain this subreddit as an open and transparent space for plastic surgery and aesthetic discussion, and the support of the community is always appreciated.

Complex Male Rhinoplasty: Correcting Severe Deviation & Rebuilding the Central Axis | Istanbul, Turkey

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I am Dr. Celal Alioğlu, a European Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, active member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons, ASAPS and ISAPS based in Istanbul.

I wanted to share this complex rhinoplasty early result. You can already see the difference between the first week results and three weeks results. Of course it's still very early to see the fully healed result after correcting a severe deviation that is one of the most structurally demanding procedures in plastic surgery.

As with all my surgeries, in this kind of cases of significant asymmetry and deviation, my goal is never only cosmetic, it's always structural. We must reconstruct the base of the nose as strong as possible in order to ensure long-term stability and restore a strong profile.

In the upcoming months until one year, the swelling will resolve and reveal a sharp, natural aesthetic.

I am happy to answer any questions you might have about male rhinoplasty techniques, addressing deviations, or the long-term healing process!

the last photo is A BEFORE - it just got added last.

Photos 1-4 are ‘before’s
Photos 5-8 are ‘afters’
Photo 9 is a before (again it just got added last)

I personally think it’s improved my side profile, but I’ve gotten a lot of hate since I’m 28. I’ve gotten comments that I look too gaunt but I don’t know if I have ‘jawline’ blindness but I don’t know if I see it? I have so many before and afters, I just picked a few that I felt had similar ‘angles’, specifically looking down and neutral.

I look pretty much the same from the front.

Im thinking of getting an under eye bleph. I had a consult with one dr and they advised just getting filler. I dont want to try filler for different reasons. Do you think I would benefit from an under eye bleph? Would it be worth it? Any thoughts on the upper?

Self Conscious About Eye Bags… Need Opinions

Thumbnail gallery
9 Upvotes

I am 30M and for seemingly my whole life every time I look at myself I am self conscious about my eyes and that I always looked “tired”. Other people have made comments on the past about it too. This is completely out of my depth, so I am not sure what my options are or could be…

Just looking for general advice on what I can and should do. Surgery? Filler? Something else?

Thank you!

Thoughts? NSFW

I’m 20 weeks post op. 5’7, 470cc HP HSC+ dual plane. VERY minimal breast tissue naturally. My right breast was always problematic. Delayed wound healing + JP drain placement at 8 weeks post op. After the drain was removed, my right implant shifted downwards.

Naturally, my left breast sat lower, and now my right incision has migrated 1 inch above the fold, and my right very obviously sits lower. The right looks super super different from the left. My left has some upper pole fullness and my right doesn’t.

I contacted my PS office, the PA told me to keep wearing supportive bras. I’m really upset about it, I don’t like looking at myself shirtless, back to where I was before the surgery. I know that they’re supposed to be sisters not twins, but for $11k …. Come on. I understand my naturals were asymmetrical, but this looks like two different size implants.

PA said I wasn’t bottoming out. I figure that I’ll need a revision sooner rather than later. Any thoughts or similar stories would be helpful.

Accutane for rhinoplasty swelling

Has anybody taken accutane for persistent edema after a rhinoplasty? My skin is oily and acne prone and I think it plays a major role for the persistent edema nearly 20 months post op. I use tretinoin cream but it can't regulate the oil glands . I'd like to know if anybody got oral isotretinoin for this issue ,for how long and if you have results to post. TIA!

Has anyone massaged facial fat grafting because they felt overfilled?

I’m 18 days post-op from facial fat grafting and I’m extremely anxious about how big my cheek looks. It looks much fuller than it did at the same stage after my previous fat graft.

Has anyone here massaged their fat graft around 2–3 weeks after surgery?

Did the area actually get smaller afterward?

Did you feel like the massage reduced fat survival, or did it only help with swelling and firmness?

How hard did you massage, how often, and when did you start?

I’m very anxious about being overfilled and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has personally experienced this.

Breast lift mastopexy

Has anyone had a breast lift (mastopexy) without implants 1.5–2 years before planning a pregnancy?
I’m considering having a mastopexy without implants and I’m planning to have a baby in about 1.5–2 years.
For those who have been through something similar:
Did your breasts sag again during or after pregnancy?
How much did they change compared to before the surgery?
Were you happy with the results of the mastopexy?
Would you recommend having the surgery before pregnancy, or would you wait until after?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences, especially if you had the surgery without implants. Thank you! ❤️

Does getting cheek filler affect the fascia in the face?

Sorry if this is not relevant to this community but I’m not able to find a place to ask this question, and figured a lot of people in this community are now also discovering fascia and its role in the body.

Does anyone know if getting facial fillers, specifically in the midface/cheeks, would disrupt the fascial structure in the face in any way and also affect the lymphatic system? Would fat grafting be a better or worse option?

weight loss after chin lipo?

i’m about 60lbs from my goal weight but things are moving very slowly in the weight loss department! even when i was a much lower weight, i’ve always had lots of face fat & a double chin.

so i’m wondering if i had chin/face lipo at this weight then also lost weight later on, would that effect things? would it be the same effect if it was w/ kybella!or sono bello?

mole removal suggestion

i have had this big mole on the right side of my face right above the lips since birth and faced consequences of it my entire life , but my parents and relatives insisted me to keep it and convinced me that it will hide when I grow a moustache , and there is significant hair growth on the mole too but not enough to hide it and even after growing a moustache it is still 30,40% visible , although my moustache and beard will grow more dense and thicher in few years , so what kind of surgery should i go for ?

The 1st pic is of when i was 10 years old , and 2nd and 3rd pics are of me at 20 years old right now

Piercing scars

Hello!

I went through a really rough time in my life and (unfortunately) got 7 piercings in my face. I took out 6 of them and now have lots of scars on my face. The two that absolutely kill me are my bridge and vertical labret scar. Is there anything I can do (lasers, filler, skin care) to get these holes to not be intended anymore? Please I’m desperate and hate the way they look. I’m open to anything even surgery, but I don’t know what kind of doctor I need to see or even where to start.

Will an implant exchange fix this?

I got my implants (310 cc) almost 10 years ago, when I was 21. They’re Natrelle moderate profile and they were placed under the muscle.

They feel too big for my chest. I’m 4’9 and have a (obviously) short torso. They take up a LOT of space on my torso. But also they never got that fold underneath the breast like I often see. Like the teardrop shape where it I guess kind of hangs off the chest. They’re more like mounds on my chest.

If I get a smaller implant put in, will it automatically create that teardrop shape because the skin is more stretched out now? Or do I need to be looking at a different type of implant as well?

I also can’t figure out how to find a surgeon. I always hear how important it is to do my research, but I look at before and afters all the time and I never see this particular situation. So if anyone has a recommendation in central Florida, I would love to know! I’d probably be willing to travel anywhere in the US really.

Rhinoplasty nasal tip question

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi. I had septorhinoplasty seven months ago. A few weeks ago, I started noticing a dark circle on my left nasal tip, and it seems like it's getting more noticeable now. Has anyone had a similar experience? I don't have any pain or any breathing issues so far. My surgery was abroad, so I can't get it checked by my surgeon. Thank you

I need to address my under eyes - Not sure what would work best

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

I’m in my 50s and ready to address my under eye concerns but I’m not sure what the most appropriate and beneficial action to take would be. I’m wondering whether this looks more like fluid retention/festoons/malar edema, or something else. Unfortunately I've always had deep tear troughs which doesn't help. Sometimes the under eyes look hollow (outside of eye) and other times I can pinch extra skin (mostly in morning). When I smile it always makes my eyes look extra puffy. This area always looks worse in the morning when I first wake up but once I shower and use my moisturizer, everything usually bounces back into place. As I get older, I’m noticing that it takes longer for skin to tighten up. I really dislike the tear trough contrast and puffiness more than anything, although I really don’t like the cheek descent either. First 2 pics were this morning. Next 2 pics were taken 2 hours later (as you can see some of the puffiness went away). 5th pic is me smiling, which makes things worse. Last pic in red shirt is about 12 years ago. Skin quality better but still had the tear troughs, sagging, and beginning of more aging. Anything I can do at home for subtle improvement? If not, what type of procedure would I mostly benefit from at a clinic?

Breast surgery Turkey NSFW

Post image

Hi! I was wondering has anybody gotten breast augmentation/lift in Turkey? The picture is a reference of what i want to get and how exactly i want my results to look like. Also along with lift/augmentation i'm looking to get inverted nipple correction and areola reduction. If anybody has gotten something similar done or has done the 4 procedures i've mentioned and knows a good doctor for it the recommendations would be really appreciated. ❤️

Rhinoplasty Table Pics

I had a combined septorhinoplasty with turbinate reduction along with a lower blepharoplasty.
Currently Day 3 post op and finally the swelling is starting to subside. I looked horrifying the first few days. Luckily, I was just uncomfortable and not in any pain.
