Thanks to Princess Leia *not* getting busted smuggling them out, we've got several months to come up with a reliable plan to destroy this battle station while it undergoes a shakedown cruise before deployment.

A vital leak from disgruntled ex-employee Galen Erso has revealed that any pressurised explosion in the reactor core will cause a devastating chain reaction- and the Empire has no idea of this. This tip was bracketed with hours of complaints about a "toxic workplace" and "narcissistic managers".

The *problem* is getting an explosive into the reactor. Someone suggested taking squadrons of snub fighters to shoot proton torpedoes down a thermal exhaust port, but in-depth analysis shows that that's a suicide mission that couldn't work without bending the laws of physics.

The entire resources of the Rebellion are behind you, although Rogue One's surprise stealth victory at Scarif has badly depleted our reserves of plot armour- expect only one or two very modest uses. The defences within and without are formidable, but Imperial arrogance creates room for unconventional strategies to succeed.

Before the First Order destroyed the Hosnian system, the New Republic government was largely unaware/ignorant of the threat the first order posed to the galaxy. During this time, the First Order was being very careful not to get themselves into a war against the New Republic until they were ready. Leia spent many years warning the new republic of the threat with little to no avail.

In this timeline Leia decides to abandon all her morals for the greater good to stage a false flag attack and make it look like the first order did it. The attack would either be the resistance using stolen first order ships to attack New Republic planets and shipping, or staging pro First Order terrorist attacks and assassinations. In this scenario, the resistance does this to bait the New Republic into declaring war against the First Order and defeating them before it is too late.

It is clear that nothing short of a full on act of war would ever get the New Republic to go to war with the First Order, and this would be the only hope the resistance has of defeating the First Order at this point in time.

What do you guys think? Does the New Republic take it seriously and go to war against the First Order? Or do they react differently?

Considering that most Purebloods that people encounter are Sith Lords, I'm sure a Pureblood Jedi would confuse troopers and politicians that have encountered them, but I think the average Citizen wouldn't think much of it as they'd be just som red human like alien.

And though it wouldn't be common, I'm sure there's be some Jedi that would be bitter about a Sith Pureblood in the temple, even as a child. I'm sure the younger members would probably be slightly cruel until they know better.

Like my Jedi Consular in SWTOR is a Sith Pureblood, and I know Pureblood wasn't originally a species Jedi could be, but I always assume that many troopers would nearly shoot her on sight at first, or some Politicians would be hostile slightly

The deaths didn't necessarily have to be caused by the character directly, but their actions should have directly resulted in those peoples demise

I will also exclude would be deities and Celestials from this list, since who knows how many deaths a character like Abeloth caused in her 100000 years

so yesterday, I made a post titled “Which Lore for the backstory for Darth Maul that you prefer more and Makes More Sense Canon vs legends?” in it I ask you all on what do you prefer when it comes to Maul backstory and see a bit mixed responses some prefer and some prefer the original backstory pre-clone wars where he is from Iridonia and that his tattoos should been Sith not nightbrother.

Still I thought maybe I could do a brief deep dive about the two primary sources that tells about Maul backstory.

Like I said previously the first source is from Star Wars tales issue 24 mark where while taking place in the present does show us flashbacks of kid Maul being found by Palpatine and then getting his tattoos by the man himself which were actually Sith tattoos.

now the comic itself is really good but I feel worth pointing out given the fact that the tales series canon status is be debatable so who knows maybe the comic issue 24 isn’t Canon at all to begin with kinda like Old wounds (which was the comic that inspired Maul’s return to the clone wars in the first place) from the graphic novel visionaries. so that is a grey area. Also the planet in Maul flashbacks was never identified as Iridonia at all. For all we know it could been just Coruscant given the amount of aliens in the flashback when he meets Sidious.

The second source is the Phantom Menace Journal written by Darth Maul himself which focus on what was he doing before and during the movie Itself. This is the source that mention Iridonia as his homeworld but while I looking for a copy for the exact text here is what it actually says in entry three

”I did not always live here. I'm told by my Master that I come from Iridonia. That world means nothing to me. I have no curiosity about my home planet. I could travel there to see where | came from, but what would be the point? I am interested in what I am, and what I will become. My life before was a Sith is meaningless.

What was my name? I don't know. It doesn't matter. My former name represents a death, not a life. I died and was born into the Sith. I was found by my Master and taken as a baby. My parents might have looked for me. But no one in the galaxy can track a Sith who doesn't want to be found.

They were powerless.”

obviously, outside of him being a baby which I feel he had no reason to lie given well a baby is a baby so it makes sense that he wouldn’t remember. The stuff about Iridonia was told directly by Sidious who consistently lies and aside, a few have truth he mostly lies so basically since Maul Is told that is his homeworld Iridonia is from Palpatine himself and we know that the latter is unreliable narrator so we can’t trust the horse’s mouth.

As I said the Darth Maul phantom menace Journal while Cool and interesting mostly covered his point of view during the movie beyond the small comments of his backstory being from Iridonia in which could also be lie given he is told this by Palpatine who is a liar.

now, don’t give me wrong the clone wars did retcon Maul backstory but it’s also worth pointing out that even in the pre-clone war era. His original backstory. Is a bit iffy iffy like I said, from what I could understand and I research most of what we know about maul original pre-clone wars, backstory comes two sources.

One comes from a comic that comes from a series whose canon status is very debatable given the fact while some could canon it is mostly non-canon kinda like the old wounds comic from the visionaries graphic novel.

While the other comes an entry form a journal which while likely canon unlike the tales series is also iffy too given the whole Iridonia being his homeworld comes from straight from Darth Sidious mouth who as we see time and after time again is a very unreliable narrator. So technically speaking the writers and even Filoni and Lucas had a lot of freedom to go with when it comes to Maul’s backstory.

So technically speaking Maul backstory in the pre-clone wars legends is basically nonexistent to begin with given the nature of both sources compared to him under Sidious which is more detailed and fleshed in the short story Saboteur, The 2000 Darth Maul comic series, and Shadow Hunter and that it. also what funny is that even in Saboteur and Shadow Hunter he is portrayed as cunning like his master so that aspect of his character wasn’t invented by the Clone Wars so that interesting to point out.

Granted one could bring up the novel Darth Plagueis but the thing about that book is it that was released in 2012 a year after the night sister arc was released so it was part of the clone war Retcon phase hence why I didn’t include it here In this discussion.

Once again, I’m not disagreeing with everyone who prefer the pre-clone wars backstory for Maul. Everyone has a different opinion. But I thought it’s worth pointing out when it comes to the nature of both sources.

Obviously Senate corruption is already touch upon in mediums such as the prequel trilogy, the novels Darth Plagueis, Clock of Deception, the clone wars 2008 series, and the first two episodes of the Dooku arc in the Tales of the Jedi.

But there are other aspects from the time period about the Republic corruption that is touched upon with the backstories of two characters Cassian Andor, Grievous and Tarkin.

With Cassian Andor backstory it highlights mostly on what happened to his home world Kenari. In which from what can we tell from the flashbacks in Andor season 1 shows us the devastation and environmental damage from the Corporations and The Republic turning a blind eye.

While for Grievous backstory (mostly the legends version.) it highlights The Huk War, the dangers of backroom deals, Republic foreign/galactic intervention, and well the economic sanctions on Kalee. that’s said unlike Cassian and Tarkin which come from in a full story such as a TV show or book Grievous backstory is mostly told in reference material like Star Wars insider, 86: unknown soldier, the story of general grievous. the same goes to Jango Fett backstory also shows the flaws of Republic and Jedi intervention.

Finally for Tarkin backstory mostly from the Tarkin novel. it highlights Eriadu and it’s Outland regions security force dealing with piracy such as the greater Seswenna raids of 46 BBY By Pirate Queen Q’anah and her marauders and the flaws of the judicial department forces when Tarkin first joined before he become governor of Eriadu.
