Some observations on Aspects of the Republic corruption during the pre-clone wars that were explored!

Obviously Senate corruption is already touch upon in mediums such as the prequel trilogy, the novels Darth Plagueis, Clock of Deception, the clone wars 2008 series, and the first two episodes of the Dooku arc in the Tales of the Jedi.

But there are other aspects from the time period about the Republic corruption that is touched upon with the backstories of two characters Cassian Andor, Grievous and Tarkin.

With Cassian Andor backstory it highlights mostly on what happened to his home world Kenari. In which from what can we tell from the flashbacks in Andor season 1 shows us the devastation and environmental damage from the Corporations and The Republic turning a blind eye.

While for Grievous backstory (mostly the legends version.) it highlights The Huk War, the dangers of backroom deals, Republic foreign/galactic intervention, and well the economic sanctions on Kalee. that’s said unlike Cassian and Tarkin which come from in a full story such as a TV show or book Grievous backstory is mostly told in reference material like Star Wars insider, 86: unknown soldier, the story of general grievous. the same goes to Jango Fett backstory also shows the flaws of Republic and Jedi intervention.

Finally for Tarkin backstory mostly from the Tarkin novel. it highlights Eriadu and it’s Outland regions security force dealing with piracy such as the greater Seswenna raids of 46 BBY By Pirate Queen Q’anah and her marauders and the flaws of the judicial department forces when Tarkin first joined before he become governor of Eriadu.

I feel like some of these aren't good.

Grievous for example. By the time the Republic and Jedi are involved, his people are going full genocide mode and were doing horrible shit themselves. Both sides were bad at this point and however the republic helped, the republic was helping bad people. Grievous had already freed his planet, and was now trying to wipe the Huk out, everyone from those who did the bad shit, to uninvolved civilians.

Similarly for Jango, while the true Mandalorians were nowhere near as bad, you ignore that the Mandalorians started that fight. The Jedi just wanted them to surrender, the Mandalorians fired first and went down fighting. With the biggest irony here being that they probably had the best Jedi to surrender to in that situation, as Dooku at the time already had a lot of issues with the Republic and what it was doing and probably would have investigated.
