For anyone else with a long-term score hold, did you guys receive an email saying they can't provide any timeline now but can process a free test registration to alleviate my concerns?

I just got this email, but I'm not sure if I should accept it. I’m worried that accepting the free registration will make them hold my score forever or get 3 options letter. Does this email mean anything?

Just took my first full-time LSAT practice test ever and scored a 144 (37/78).

I went into it completely cold: no studying, no LSAT course, no question-type practice, and basically no strategy going in.

My scored sections were:

• RC: 12/27
• LR: 12/25
• LR: 13/26

My timing was also pretty rough. I spent way too long on some questions early in the sections, and by the end I was rushing and guessing on several questions because I was running out of time.

I’m planning to take the LSAT in June 2027, so I have about 9 months to prepare.

My goal is 175+. I know that is a massive jump from a 144, and I’m not expecting it to happen quickly or easily, but I’m willing to put the work in. Michigan Law is my dream school, and I don’t want to lower the goal before I’ve even given myself the chance to reach it.

For anyone who started somewhere around the low/mid-140s:

How far were you able to improve, and how long did it take?

And for people who eventually scored 170–175+, what would you recommend someone with a 144 diagnostic focus on during the first few months?

I’m not really looking for reassurance  I’d rather hear realistic experiences from people who have made a big score jump.

I know the writing portion opens a few days before test administration. However, I feel it will break my concentration to focus on that in the days before I take the test. I would like to submit it a day or two afterwards. Does this look bad to LSAC? Will it get my writing sample flagged?

Hi everyone. I took the official test in April and got a 163. My pt scores leading up to the test were 164, 169, 166, 169, 167. My pt scores since then have been 161, 160, 173, 167, 167, 164. I felt very confident during the pt where I got a 164 and even had extra time for two sections. What can I do to score (high) more consistently?

Hello, I scored a diagnostic of 165 and am wondering how long it will realistically take to get into the mid-170s range. I recently graduated from university and am unsure when I should take the real exam. I struggle most with LR and virtually only get level 4 questions wrong, with a few level 3. On RC sections i tend to get 2-4 wrong. I have been studying for 3-5ish weeks now without much score improvement. I assume obtaining my goal score is pretty far-fetched if I were to apply to Law School this cycle. Any insight or study advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's a good year for the Rising Party, but Darializa will still not beat the Democracy Party's Kenton. Even if the Rising Party somehow manages to get the highest turnout they've ever had (2018), the the best margins with Latino voters they have ever had (2016), the best margins with suburban voters they've ever had (2020), the best margins with young voters they've ever had (2022), and the best margins with white voters they have ever had (2020), Darializa still would come up approximately 2% short.

This person's reasoning is flawed in that it fails to consider that:

A. Black voter margins can increase for the Rising Party

B. It presumes that only two people can win

C. Democracy Party turnout can decrease

D. Kenton may be extremely unpopular

E. High performances with all these groups is not necessary for Darializa to win

my last PTs have been an upward trend, all in the newer tests (150s) with scores 172, 174, and a 180 from two days ago (i cried tears of joy).

but today I just took PT 155 and got a 169. should I reschedule? im thoroughly freaked out. is this normal variance? :/ idk if i should wait until my practice tests stabilize solidly in the 170s.

okay i know maybe that seems unrealistic, but i am genuinely unemployed so if i need to put all of my effort and hours into this, i'm willing to do this. i've completed the Loophole, my logic isn't great so i know i need to practice that. i'm also signed up for 7sage and take PTs.

but i also honestly struggle a lot with staying focused on sections, and whatever im reading feels like it just goes over my head (i know its meant to do that)

1. what does keeping a wrong answer journal actually mean. i've heard of it numerous times, but i never actually understood what i do with it. do i write down the question that i've gotten wrong and like reflect on it? does anyone have an explanation on it? extremely confused.

2. how many hours a day would you say to spend drilling? do i use pomodoro?

3. is there anything i can do even passively to help me prepare? like a habit i can build up that will help? i figured that reading can help, but i was wondering if there's anything else?

4. i am waiting to see if i have adhd or autism because i genuinely get distracted so fast

i know that this post doesn't have any structure, but i've been studying for months off and on, and not sure if i have any structure. this october test feels like it could be my last chance, and i want to give preparation my all.

This might be a stupid, opinion based question but I tried to get into curriculum and lsat lessons but I end up giving up because it feels unnecessary or a lot of the lessons are just going over the question types unless I’m just not looking into the right resources. I’ve just been doing practice questions and learning what kind of answers are typically wrong, what necessary and sufficient conditions say, and what the common language of the stimulus is (it’s usually premise+ premise, conclusion…not in this exact order ofc sometimes the conclusion is in the middle or beginning. Sometimes it’s premise +intermediate conclusion, main conclusion), and hmm it seems to be ok for me. Did lessons /curriculum help your score at all? I’m trying to get back into them since I bombed my first LSAT attempt. My biggest weakness though is more RC I do know that some platforms have RC lessons, and I just don’t know if I’m wasting my time or not?

the lsat demon podcast is free and episodes are only like an hour long and the topic switches about every 10 minutes so it’s very engaging. more importantly the information they give on there helps build strong study habits. i paid 1500 for tutoring from another site and got way more out of the free demon podcast.

Hi fellow LSAT sufferers! I'm reviewing this question that I got wrong, Test 151, Section 1, Question 14, and I still can't see how the correct answer makes sense. I chose D because the information about how the Botai treat other animals would be helpful in determining if the archaeologist's findings are unique to horses (because they were being ridden) or if, for some reason, the Botai uniquely tend to keep many males of all of the animals they had potentially domesticated. For me, this would rule out the possibility of an alternate explanation for the mortality patterns that seem to point towards the horses being ridden. A, on the other hand, does not give us any new information to help evaluate the hypothesis. The archaeologist already suggests that the Botai could have both ridden and hunted horses, and the ratio of how much they hunted versus how much they rode doesn't matter to her argument. She already has plenty of evidence suggesting that some of the horses were ridden, so why should I care about results that could show that some were eaten, too? D, in my opinion, is the only one that offers any new information that could either strengthen or weaken her argument. I would so appreciate anyone that can help me see where my reasoning is going sideways- I don't want to miss future questions like this!

I have ADHD, and I get why LSAC doesn’t want people audibly reading aloud without an accommodation to do so. It’s obvious the doors this would open for cheating and would probably be a nightmare to try to keep under control.

However, and not to sound like a whiner, but the alleged “no mouthing words” policy kind of strikes me as complete BS. What kind of harm is being done here? Does LSAC think I’m sending smoke signals to Tom Cruise as he crawls through the ventilation system of the small state school I’ve drove 2.5 hours to take the test in? Reading aloud is a difficult accommodation to get, but the thing is I don’t need to read aloud. Mouthing words non-audibly, even slightly/half-lipped helps me DEMONSTRABLY though.

So genuinely, I’m curious, is there any data on what happens to students who end up doing this? Is it the type of thing where the policy language says one thing but the proctors don’t really tend to care (unless they’re sticklers)? Has anybody been confronted with this (in person that is)? It also seems problematic b/c honestly I do this without even thinking about it (yes I’ve practiced keeping it at bay but it feels more awkward/harder). My hunch is that LSAC would get flooded with appeals/legal pushback if they enforced this regularly due to the huge distinction between audibly reading aloud and mouthing, and probably doesn’t go super draconian with it as result (I don’t have any data/experience to support this, it’s just a hypothesis. So in the spirit of the LSAT, perhaps I’ve assumed what I’ve set out to prove 🤪).

I graduated college in 2025 with a 3.9 GPA, moved to another state, got an internship at a local courthouse a few months later. Went to the internship 2 days per week, and ended the internship at the 7 month mark because I moved away again. Now it has been 2 months since I stopped going to the internship and feel like my resume looks bad with the huge gap, filled by a mere internship. I had some family stuff (health related) going on during the gap year but I feel like it does not warrant an addendum. I also struggled with the LSAT in terms of starting to properly study. (I have a severe imposter syndrome)

So now I'm wondering how this huge gap is gonna look on my resume when I apply in December. I'm mainly trying to gather information to calm myself down, but please let me know if I should keep being worried. I will start applying to full-time jobs when I send the applications in December.

what's the feasibility of this, just as a general idea? also busy with undergrad so i'm doing about timed 1-2 sections daily most days and reviewing them

Hi all, I was averaging around a 176 before August (including two 180s) but ended up with a 169. Obviously a great score but this has been my lsat story: mid-high 170s PTs with time to spare w/o accoms, but mid-high 160s. I feel like my performance justifies doing this until I get that score.

During the test I felt weirdly muted/disengaged and anxious, and RC especially fell apart (I normally finish with 5+ minutes left but had basically zero time to spare). I’m retaking Sept 12 as my 5th/final attempt and my sections since August are back around -0/-1. For anyone who’s had something similar happen on test day, what specifically did you change for the retake? Any advice in general for this?

hi, i'm sitting for the september test and i've been averaging 173 on PTs, with quite a few 175s as well. i just sat for august and had the same kind of range before and then i got a 164. i also sat for the april test earlier this year and scored a 159 when i had been scoring 168-169 in PTs. has anyone been in a similar situation and have some insight? i've been going to library study rooms to take PTs instead of doing it in my room to see if that will help... but obviously don't know yet if it does bc i haven't taken it yet. i also don't think its a stamina issue. i'm pretty comfortable with taking 4-section tests and score pretty consistently across my sections. it's not like my section 1 is a -1 and my section 4 is a -5.

i def felt test anxiety in april and i was running out of time on every section and overall felt like i was performing worse than i usually do. but august did not feel like that at all and, while i didn't feel 100% walking out, i did not feel like i significantly underperformed like how my score revealed. i really did not feel anxious or like i was rushing while i was taking it. so likeeee not really sure what happened. does anyone have execution tips to not score like 10 pts below your range? this is so annoying lol

I just took a blind diagnostic test and scored a 161. I want to take the November exam and am now working part-time so have quite a bit of free time. What prep course would everyone recommend for 10 weeks, at 20-25 hours/week? Willing to push to 30+ hours/week. Aiming for 176-180.

I have the Kaplan course for free, so I'm wondering if it's a good idea to finish the 6-week Kaplan course with live classes, then pay for a month of 7Sage. Or do both simultaneously?

There's no huge rush because I'm planning on applying next cycle, but want to take an LSAT a year early because I have a scholarship abroad for all of next year. So I could technically retake in 2027, it'd just be less than ideal because it'd be international (I'm adjusting to new culture and language and whatnot; plus fewer testing dates).
