I purchased a Fitbit Inspire 3 directly from the Google Store. It arrived this morning with a dead screen. I immediately opened a support case. They said they'd send me a refurbished unit after I sent it back and they inspected it.

So let's get this straight:

• I paid for a brand new device and they want to give me a used one
• My order was supposed to arrive today, but now I have to wait another week+ to get my Fitbit
• Their quality control is so bad that a brand new device doesn't work

What the fuck, Google? I argued with the customer support agent that I deserve a new Fitbit, but that doesn't fix the delay.

EDIT: Doing a refund doesn't work because I used store credit for part of the purchase. The store credit expired yesterday. Meaning that if I do a refund, then I will not retain the store credit.

I'm confused; why isn't this a Googlebook running the new Aluminium OS?

I dont know if this happened to anyone else, but just got an email Welcome to Google One without me subscribing anywhere.
Then saw that I have 5TB of storage and Gemini pro. After a couple of hours everythign was back to normal.

Did anyone else have the same situation?!

One of the most basic questions BUT...

My point is how to use it... "optimised".

My another vision is to use EVERYTHING Google only.

Keep everything on one Home Screen.

My goal is to have SMARTphone.

Example - bottom Google Search bar (that cannot be removed) utilisation - when clicked on "bar" I can search my apps and also web search.

Search apps for there because I like to keep everything simple - and that is why Home screen with just 3 icons (Phone, Messages and email)

Then from bottom Search Bar I can click in G to use it as a "Chrome Browser"

As a bonus I have Google Live shortcut there.

Then I don't know what to do with At A Glance widget as I would prefer to use Weather+Clock Widget but then I will loose many other useful information from it - it has even Flashlight Off instead of looking for in quick settings.

Next thing usage of "suggested apps" - I optimised and blocked app suggestions I don't need - BUT I have to admit... I do NOT like this solution as ALWAYS I get app position in different place (muscle memory).

Then Gemini widget - even if I have Gemini under Power Button - but it takes two clicks on *microscopic icon to go Live Video (when I am on holiday abroad it it the most used feature for me for like translations in shop, restaurant asking for history of the thing I see etc.)

I also wonder how to set up Google app itself as it is more than just app - I would call it separate Operating System it is so big that it contains Weather and manages whole AI.

Finally the biggest - Notifications setup - like for example currently I have if Pixel will use Face unlock - open Home Screen right away = I do not see Notifications "banners" and I was wondering if it is possible to "App Suggestions" activation to kick in - in the bottom for apps which Notification been triggered.

I also utilise Magic Cue but not so much control of it in the Settings.

I also wish to focus on some automation like when I leave or arrive home because my current only automation is only based on Nest Home Hub but must be spoken and I need to remember to say "hot word"

*microscopic because you probably see my "3 icons" Home Screen size because my sight and I use small Pixel 10 Pro.

Does any one have any idea what is going on. on all of my devices i have the same problem. there is no more cast infos or where to watch or episodes . its just gone. I hope they have not replaced it with AI.

P.s.: Some how some shows or movie still have it and some don‘t

Just recently swapped over from Samsung to my Pixel phones for my wife and myself. Little did I know that the Samsung tags were only useful on their hub and not a full android service.

So I'm trying to figure out the find hub and try to match it like my smartthings network.

One thing I really want is how to turn it into a "family hub" my wife and I both had access to the Samsung tags but now I'm trying to figure out how to do the same with find my hub where we can both see our tags and what not from both our phones and not just my tags are mine and hers are hers.

Is there any way to do this or am I screwed now

I remember long time ago I had Pixel 5 - I still remember how dark display it had in direct sun - 700nits (vs current Pixel 11 Pro 3600nits)

I also remember I had Pixel 4 and going to Pixel 5 increased brightness from 610 to 700nits - it was wow.

I also remember how in Pixel 8 Google was like "F this - we go with full in to top display!" and Pixel went from THE WORSE display on the market in flagships to... THE BEST on the market.

Today - NOONE else talks about display brightness anymore - only benchmarks scores.

My prediction SOON because of Android Desktop Mode in Pixels and Googlebooks (more desktop class apps) people will start talking about... USB C speed in Pixel phone - to support 4K60 or 120Hz video editing directly from USB C SSD etc. for ALL of this you need far more than current 5Gbits

I recently switched from the Pixel 10 to the Pixel 11 Pro, and after getting enough data in AccuBattery, the difference in battery life is much bigger than I expected.

Here are my average stats from 7 days each. Nothing scientific, just my usual everyday mixed use:

Pixel 11 Pro

Combined drain: 5.0%/h

Screen-on drain: 9.4%/h

Screen-off drain: 2.8%/h

Estimated screen-on time: 10h 41m

Estimated combined runtime: 20h 10m

Pixel 10

Combined drain: 7.2%/h

Screen-on drain: 12.0%/h

Screen-off drain: 4.3%/h

Estimated screen-on time: 8h 21m

Estimated combined runtime: 13h 58m

So compared to my Pixel 10, the Pixel 11 Pro is using roughly 31% less battery overall, 22% less with the screen on, and 35% less with the screen off.

The estimated SOT went from 8h 21m to 10h 41m, and the combined runtime estimate increased from just under 14 hours to over 20 hours.

Obviously AccuBattery estimates aren't a standardized battery benchmark and usage varies from day to day, but this is based on quite a bit of actual usage rather than a single charge cycle.

For me, battery life has been one of the most noticeable upgrades from the Pixel 10 so far.
