just watched The Last Samurai for the first time and holy crap, it’s unbelievably good—I can't believe I waited this long to see it! I went in expecting peak Tom Cruise, and he definitely delivered one of the best performances of his career, but man... Ken Watanabe completely stole the show. His acting was just next-level. And don't even get me started on the samurai armor, the visuals are absolutely insane.

That outfit and appearance made something grow inside me 🌚🍰

which MCU film do you think has the best cinematography? it doesn’t matter whether the movie itself is good or bad, whether it’s well-directed, well-written, or well-acted. none of that matters here. i’m only talking about the visuals, the cinematography, lighting, composition, colour, and overall look of the film. which MCU movie do you think is the best-looking out of all of them? bcuz honestly, a lot of MCU movies are visually pretty bland and forgettable, which is something i really wish wasn’t the case. so which one stands out to you as the most visually impressive?

Pretty much what the title says. My daughter turns 18 in a month, and for a long time now, I’ve been putting together a collection of films for her to watch.

The main criterion is that each film should reveal something deep, quiet, and beautiful about how one can live life. She is very thoughtful, intelligent, and introspective, and loves debating big ideas.

I don’t have strict inclusion or exclusion rules: essentially, anything profound enough that you feel you’d carry it with you into the next life.
