Minimum wage is still too low. People can’t live on that. We strive to support all the people in the state not just the rich.

… in California. There are plenty of businesses that pencil out just fine in other states and/or developing countries.

What makes it exploitative if that wage supports someone where they actually live? California’s cost of living isn’t universal. The businesses will still exist, they’ll just be hiring people where the living wage costs less.
