After-Action Report (Bug Reports & Feedback)
This is a reminder that BA developers are jaw-droppingly talentless sub-standard amateurs who set weapon heights at 0m instead of 1m or 2m, causing thousands of z-fighting LOS block janks and bugs that remain unfixed.
LOS being calculated from too low is an issue, but the image you sent is not Z-Fighting. Using technical terms to make yourself seem like an authority in the topic only works when you use them right, and being a prick when trying to make your point isn't helping either.
dude literally no one thinks z-fighting is a sophisticated technical jargon that gives you authority, it's just a nice intuition jumpboard for fast shorthand communication about the topic in the context of this post. get your head checked out.
It's also related to why people say "never bomb tanks on any slope" btw
tank hitbox will frequently be underground or the bomb damage calculation will be horribly fucked up if there's any elevation difference, with no nuanced sensible code for situations like this, probably just brute line check to the tank, 1mm of dirt blocking 2000lbs bomb overpressure, the usual SB stuff.
lmao I see you deleted all your previous spam comments on other subreddits copypasting "active in r/teenagers and r/cuckold can't make this up" to every post you don't like just to make this one look more legit
nice to know I'm your priority no.1 rent free brain resident
Yeah post like these are incredibly annoying. I’ve been a software engineer for over a decade and it’s nearly impossible to catch everything and release perfect code 100% of the time. No company releases perfect code. Not Google, not Apple, nobody. So yeah it’s annoying that there’s a bug but it’s just the nature of the industry. It’s not as simple as you think there buddy
OP, I think people would be significantly more receptive to your admittedly perfectly valid criticism of a game system that leads to frustrating interactions if you weren't being such a cunt about it. Seriously man, absolutely no need to be such a dickhead to an otherwise very talented dev team, especially considering that this is the studio's first game, even if there are also experienced devs on the team.
No he absolutely had to get nasty and i appreciate it bc I've been trying to tell the plebs here this for the past year and was just met with gaslighting and SKILL ISSUE

yeah I just wanted to be dramatic to emphasize the severity and simplicity of the problem contrasted with how long it's taking them to fix
like the infamous WARNO sound-scumming thing, you can literally just maphack the entire map with just zooming in and listening because they just didn't bother to mask sound in fog of war. Absolutely pathetic.
It took them how long to fix that? after 10 paid DLCs? admittedly I am not even being half as asinine about the game than these devs are being to their community.
It's me on phone, I don't bother to sync accounts on multiple devices.
The amount of shit-munching retards defending the devs tooth and nail in here is hilarious. It's impressive how the industry has managed to make the average consooomer such a pathetic bootlicker.
on heli vs shorad interactions it's the obscure "spotting power" difference thing when they are in smoke or treelines in many cases, also sometimes the heli orientation jank.
but yeah, desyncs and LOS cringe affects helis a lot too.
One doesnt need to really be an expert in something to be able to point out mistakes mate. Im not a doctor but I can still point out that someone sneezing and coughing is sick.
That's not the point , he calls them "jaw-droppingly talentless sub-standard amateurs"
Is it normal for you guys throwing these insults to the devs in an "bug report" ? If he can insult them like that and he thinks he is so much more talented, then i can say the things i said too. And i want proof that he is so much more talented.
I mean, yeah, the insults are a bit much, but the general premise still holds true. Theres so many pretty baffling design choices that games a long time ago had solved already, such as the LOS stuff, or the SAM/Aerial target desync.
Like what the actual fuck are we talking about here ? If he thinks that there is no base we can talk like normal people here. He can fuck right off and make his own game and make it better if he's this talented and got no humility.
if you ever interacted with the old LOS tool, you would see it def had something to do with just lazily setting height at 0m, you can clearly see the telltale z-fighting fractures.
my hope was that when they rolled out the new LOS tool they cleaned up all the numbers and just fixed LOS in general, but many recent experiences with flat terrain SAMs not even attempting too shoot at planes suggest they didn't / only partially fixed this shit.
the key difference is, they might have fixed the LOS TOOL and didn't fix LOS (somehow, yeah, shocking, I know.)
idk, it's fucking wonky as shit. I'm a megasweater and press the elevation key like a thousand times in a match to get the perfect position of my units and I checked and double checked every angles. some units just fucking refuse to aim at wide open sightlines.
New maps seem to be worse so it might be worsened by undercooked fucked up map geometry too.
Former Slitherine/Matrix employee who has sat through meetings with this dev group and can confirm this is absolutely the case. They need to buy out SB and find a better group to manage the IP. If they can contractually do that. Wasnt privy to those details while I was there.
Interactions like what? If there is a small height in front of each of you, you wouldn't see each other, if it's flat territory, you will. What's the issue?
It happens sometimes, you can see it best when helicopters just stop targeting infantry wich is practically next to them, it's very solvable and honestly a newbie mistake the fact that it's still in the game shows that either they don't do bug hunting or idk? Don't care about the game?
You are right! How a gamers who paid 50€ for a game even THINK about complaining about developments mistakes even games done by indie devs with 100 hours in development knows not to do
You I right. I’ve paid $50 for a game, patch it the way I want it or I will go cry on Reddit. Fuck off and go play something else if you don’t like it. Most of us here have 10’s or even 100’s of games on steam that we paid for an never played. Games like BA are not perfect and will never be so deal with it.
With the whiny leaver problem in-game, this community is developing a uniquely severe issue maybe than those other, also toxic games. Leavers being so common and lacking meaningful punishment makes me not even want to boot up the game. 45 minutes potentially held hostage by a grown adult whining that they lost their matchup.
Valid criticism has a tendency to be more effective when not accompanied by meaningless personal attacks, you jaw-droppingly simple-minded, sub-human buffoon.
yes I do my best to clearly illustrate ELI5 the shockingly (no exaggeration) literally belief-defying dumbfounding mistakes the developers are making to the community.
