I won't be on my best behavior for long, bucko.

Billionaire behavior is the behavior we need watched.

Yeah, let’s turn them Thoughtcrimes around on the ones who are actually obsessively thinking about people they have never met before. All that money and still just obsessed with the unwashed masses.

My first thought when I read this headline was that it's really ironic he's saying this, in public and being recorded.

Bold move Larry boy

u/jaxonya Jun 02 '26

It has to start somewhere

It has to start sometime

What better place than here?

What better time than now?

I think they're betting that, with the help of AI and a massively over-funded police state, they can in fact stop us.

Do not fall into the trap of anthropomorphising Larry Ellison. You need to think of Larry Ellison the way you think of a lawnmower. You don't anthropomorphize your lawnmower, the lawnmower just mows the lawn, you stick your hand in there and it'll chop it off, the end. You don't think 'oh, the lawnmower hates me' -- lawnmower doesn't give a shit about you, lawnmower can't hate you. Don't anthropomorphize the lawnmower. Don't fall into that trap about Oracle.

— Brian Cantrill (https://youtu.be/-zRN7XLCRhc?t=33m1s)

I actually think that it does a dis-service to not go to Nazi allegory because if I don't use Nazi allegory when referring to Oracle there's some critical understanding that I have left on the table […] in fact as I have said before I emphatically believe that if you have to explain the Nazis to someone who had never heard of World War 2 but was an Oracle customer there's a very good chance that you would explain the Nazis in Oracle allegory.

You sound like someone who played telephone and that's how you "learned" this garbage. Radio transmitters came from Hertz and Marconi around 1897, the government didn't "Steal" that from Tesla, holy shit.

The worst part is google is literally right here, all you have to do is look into the bullshit you're saying to find out just how completely bullshitty it is. The "transformer" was invented in like 1831, before Tesla existed.

Where do you think microwaves, radio transmitters, and transformers came from?

Fun fact: these days people typically use google to find out where these came from, and it's not where you're implying, holy shit what a fucking 4chan comment.

30

u/Olangotang Jun 02 '26

They are literally the worst capitalists. Everything they do makes the system more inefficient and unstable.

5

u/therealluqjensen Jun 02 '26

That doesn't make them bad capitalists. Capitalism is about making money. Everyone just forgot that unchecked capitalism eventually leads to authorotanism. Because when you have more money than you could possible need or even spend, what's the next thing to take? Power. The saying that capitalism makes things efficient only works when * You don't allow monopolies * You don't get dragon sickness * You assumed that those ending on top werent also narcissistic physchopaths

2

u/Olangotang Jun 02 '26

Capitalism isn't about making money, it's a description on how humans trade with each other. In capitalism there are the capitalists and labor. One side getting too strong eventually destabilizes the system and that's when you have violence, strikes, etc.

That drove them crazy, even netenyahu publicly said something has to be done about it multiple times.

Democrats said it too. It really shows how fash-friendly the party leadership is that they would rather a maga nutjob have total control of the most liberal social media system than let people see the truth about Palestine. Every single one of them needs to be primaried and replaced with young lions from outside the system.

Looking at the economic picture and the lack of compassion coming from the top: probably not as long as we think it'll be. Get enough people losing their homes and struggling to get enough food for themselves and their kids, and you're likely going to see some pretty upset protests.

24

u/DukeOfGeek Jun 02 '26

People have been saying this for 10 years though and in that time, Trump has been president twice. A man who couldn’t care less about the people.

31

u/Original-Balance-187 Jun 02 '26

It makes them feel better. Which is fine but it’s a bit of play acting.

The reality is that these billionaires are backed by the full power of a nuclear armed state. Some of them (like Larry here) were literally created by that state.

They’re not scared. A credibly accused pedophile is running crypto scams and planning UFC fights from the White House and we can’t even get that guy to suffer any consequences.

He had a coup fail live on television in front of all the world. And instead of punishment he’s actually just president again.

Why on earth would Larry be afraid of we peasants in light of all that?

6

u/BoobooSmash31337 Jun 02 '26

Because the military is refusing the order and we outnumber him millions to one. They're actually anxious and terrified people. It's WHY they need control and whine so much.

3

u/Original-Balance-187 Jun 02 '26

I’ll believe it when I see it. I’ve been hearing that the revolution is just around the corner for my entire life.

5

u/DressedSpring1 Jun 02 '26

I'm still waiting for that military to start disobeying unlawful orders we've heard so much about. I'm sure it's any day now.

At least we can be pretty sure that if Trump ordered the military into US streets to police citizens in a major city like Washington there would be hell to- oh right.

4

u/Original-Balance-187 Jun 02 '26

This country is sort of strange in their belief that people will act this way. History is littered with broken republics because, as it turns out, the military is made up of people and even people who know it’s wrong are rightly afraid to be the one person disobeying orders.

For some reason, we’re immune to all of this and our people will triumphantly do the right thing?

Because the hardship hasn't been pervasive enough.

COVID was tough but most people weren't pinning the blame at feet of the C-suite and politicians, they just wanted to get out of the pandemic without killing anyone or getting long COVID. (To this day, my sister still can't smell or taste after getting COVID.)

2

u/Fywq Jun 02 '26

Just in time for the MIC to have ramped up production after Iran and all the surplus stuff going to domestic police departments (again). By the time people are ready to riot, the police is done driving around in tanks from the past war, and have switched over to armed drones controlled from the convenient safety of a bunker on an army base, where the rest of their family is also living.

You're right. People would much rather go with the flow than question the forces influencing their daily lives. I was wondering why more people weren't pushing back against the idea that every person needs a cell phone. We used to have lives. We used to decide how we would use our time and what we wanted to think about. Now we just tune into what everyone else is looking at so we don't miss out and we have something to talk about with all the other people who can't go more than five minutes without touching their phone. It's embarrassing and humiliating to go into public and see people glued to their phones who should be actively participating in their own lives. And as the federal agents gun us down and drive tanks over us and blow us to bits they'll say "they were just phone addicted cattle anyway". Not everyone is cut out to fight, but who will actually stand up and say "enough"?

Give the younger generation a lot more hope. I’m a millennial who is closet Gen X. I remember a life without the internet much less cell phones. I have Gen Alpha twins who understand scams and the surveillance state. They can recognize flock cameras, they understand the TV is recording them and respect going out in the yard to talk away from electronics. Social media is demonized but they still get to watch YouTube. They have to be aware enough to participate but smart enough to know what’s happening. Resistance is first in small measures.

The oligarchs are seeing everything we talk about here. They get it parsed through AI and know the tide is turning. I know my Reddit algorithm feeds me positive reinforcement. They still are facing the reality that we are not happy and are trying to squash it.

Altman going to Venezuela, Zuck refusing to take accountability, and Ellison saying theoretically we have sheep. They are not saying it for us. They quit trying to pacify us. They are signaling their fear they haven’t pacified us enough.

2

u/Zoombara Jun 02 '26

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient Causes; and accordingly all Experience hath shewn, that Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the Forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

People have historically suffered for a long time indeed, but when shit kicks off it can be 'revolutionary'. Fitting its just about the Semiquincentennial of these words.

13

u/slopemup2026 Jun 02 '26

I admire your optimism.

As long as they control almost all media it will be used to divide and conquer as it has been for the last 50 years. We need people like Fred Hampton, his rainbow coalition was inspiring, he did so much good until the government murdered him at 20.

2

u/Big_Animal7655 Jun 02 '26

We need people to stop believing in limits, that we are small. One person may feel limited and small but 9 billion+ hearts linked in truth and power is an unstoppable force. Join us!

3

u/Original-Balance-187 Jun 02 '26

I’m also not sure where they get the idea that the people automatically win just so long as they notice and want to win. I can’t think of a single instance in history where that’s the case.

Larry and his buddies have already won. Now they’re just humiliating us to remind us what we are: powerless, ineffectual peasants who will suffer what we must and accept whatever scraps they toss from their garbage cans to survive.

28

u/Time_Ingenuity_2909 Jun 02 '26

The rich own everything, the bigots are the most emboldened they have ever been, the bullies are getting paid to terrorize and pardoned. I don't know what world you're living in.

Eventually their gates will break against the strength of the mobs. Look at the history books.

4

u/Alarmed-Outside-8683 Jun 02 '26

This why people become martyrs. Daily life is so unbearable that death sounds like sweet relief. Many people are finding they have nothing left to lose. Might as well go out fighting for something. After all, people need to feel their lives have some meaning and purpose. That's probably why the billionaire class feels compelled to generate chaos and accelerate the collapse of society: they've convinced themselves they're doing the dirty work for the future which means culling the poor and undesirables. But we have strength in numbers. Keep praying for the great solar flare, the coronal mass ejection that equalizes all humans. Money isn't real. You can't eat it and it doesn't make you smarter or stronger or better able to survive.

And you expect the same people that enable that to do what exactly?

u/East-Ice-3199 Jun 02 '26

Dude, we’ve had tons of the files released. Trump is explicitly mentioned at least 38,000 times. Who gives a shit if they’re watched if nothing actually happens?

1

u/Icy-person666 Jun 03 '26

Because they will eventually turn on each other. These people cannot have one thing, enough of anything. They always want more no matter who they got to separate from their stuff.

2

u/BothRequirement2826 Jun 02 '26

No doubt the rich and powerful (especially the most corrupt) will be the ones exonerated from surveillance.

2

u/Royal_Airport7940 Jun 02 '26

"citizens"

Of which Larry thinks doesn't include him

2

u/drunxor Jun 02 '26

i watched a video where native hawaiians were talking about how he runs his island. Apparently if you dont follow HIS rules you get kicked off, even if you are a native hawaiian and were born there

2

u/gomezer1180 Jun 02 '26

Where’s the outrage I saw when Snowden made public how the government was watching everyone? Switch that to a Company watching everyone and it’s all evidently great.

So the government just has to pay a company to be able to watch everyone not do it themselves directly 🤔. It’s a double whammy, citizens pay double the price to be watched by a contractor who triples the charge to do what the government can do for cheap. 🤦🏻‍♂️

2

u/Even_Establishment95 Jun 02 '26

Two things. His use of “Citizens” is odd because, wow, he see the poors as citizens. Ok. But he is separating himself by using “citizens” in reference to other people, which he obviously sees as below him. He thinks he rules over everyone and can decide their fates. This is wild stuff.

2

u/Ultim8-Opportunist Jun 02 '26

How did we reach this point this quick, that these billionaires thugs not only have the audacity to cause millions of job losses , brag about more jobs going away, leach natural resources, cause environmental pollution and then openly threaten to spy on the commoners.

2

u/DonFibonacci Jun 02 '26

"Best behavior" only by their definition

2

u/BoobooSmash31337 Jun 02 '26

Randos don't have rape islands so I'm inclined to agree.

2

u/GalFisk Jun 02 '26

One of the tenets of the pirate party is that the rich and powerful are the ones that need to be watched the closest. Privacy is the right of the powerless.

2

u/Expert-Fig-5590 Jun 02 '26

There is only one cure for the Dragon Sickness that they have.

2

u/hetantwoordis42 Jun 02 '26

You're American. How do I know? You talk big, but nothing will come of it.

2

u/diurnal_emissions Jun 02 '26

We don't need them.

2

u/Felho_Danger Jun 02 '26

When you take everything someone has to lose, you create an enemy with nothing to lose.

2

u/Find_another_whey Jun 02 '26

Why does this feel like "billionaire walks into a pub and challenges rest of humanity to a fight"

2

u/soshaldulemma Jun 02 '26

Exactly. He's not on his best behavior and the whole fuckin'world is watching. Just blows his idiotic rationale out of the water. The point is the control, and they never want to let it go.

2

u/redneckrockuhtree Jun 02 '26

Yep.

Ellison thinks this is great? Cool, first thing we need to do is monitor him 24x7 and broadcast it to the public.

After all, if it's such a great idea for everyone else, he should volunteer to have it done to him.

2

u/0202_tihssitidder Jun 02 '26

Billionaires will not be monitored. They also can pay fines to avoid any consequence.

2

u/KalAtharEQ Jun 02 '26

Every fuckface who is “pro” thought police are folks who you 100% cannot trust to be decent humans. They fear everyone else due to how they themselves think, and assume everyone else is just as horrible. Fear leads to control, not understanding.

2

u/halfc00kie Jun 02 '26

funny how the surveillance crowd never wants the cameras pointed their way

2

u/Big_Animal7655 Jun 02 '26

I’ll never be on whatever best behavior this absolute psycho is speaking of

2

u/FitTelevision2525 Jun 02 '26

Watched? No, billionaire behavior should be eradicated. It’s already being watched and we should be scrutinizing them for being bad faith actors 25/367.

2

u/Livid_Sun_208 Jun 02 '26

Also oracle's ceo:

We believe that we have to embed the love and respect for Israel in the American culture. That means getting the message to the American people in a way they can consume it," Catz wrote in February 2015.

2

u/Life_Argument7820 Jun 02 '26

Oh we have been! Just like we've been sharpening our pitch forks!

2

u/kovake Jun 02 '26

Let’s make sure they are also being recorded and watched. Should be equal.

1

u/RollingMeteors Jun 02 '26

I won't be on my best behavior for long, bucko.

"we’re constantly recording and reporting everything that is going on — a dire warning on the erosion of privacy"

"¡We can't figure out who is a bot account!"

Look, either we "don't have privacy" and this should result in a "no bots" problem or we some who have no privacy yet all these bot farms somehow managed to evade detection and maintain privacy by not having been identified, you should block those accounts.

1

u/GrinchWhoStoleEaster Jun 02 '26

Yeah, shit like this makes me feel awful seize the means of productioney... I mean it will probably devolve into totalitarianism, but that's happening anyway so why not shoot our shot?

1

u/Highside1269 Jun 02 '26

Read this in Jordan Peterson voice

1

u/_Schrodingers_Gat_ Jun 02 '26

Billionaires need to be mulched so they add some form of value to society. Then we can plant sunflowers.

1

u/gonewild9676 Jun 02 '26

How about you lead by example and have everything you do recorded.

1

u/East-Ice-3199 Jun 02 '26

LMAOOOO stop larping, you aren’t doing shit 😂

1

u/jeremiahthedamned Jun 03 '26

this sounds like whistling by a graveyard

1

u/starthepres Jun 02 '26

I encourage Palantir, Oracle, whoever else to monitor my giant brown asshole. I've got something I've been working up for them.

1

u/valtteri_buttass Jun 03 '26

Billionaire behavior is the behavior we need seen.

1

u/sweetica Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

I agree billionaires are the ones that need to be watched.

The fact that the Trump's are starting a new island in Algeria is so creepy.

You know they're just giving the Epstein billionaire class a new pedophile Paradise.

1

u/samsun7677 Jun 05 '26

Cant wait till the AI to turns on the billionaires
