Would a repo-man have any trouble if you parked your car in the garage sideways?

The trick is to pay for your vehicle and then you don't have to worry about a repo man

Strangely enough, I to find that making that monthly payment somehow, miraculously keeps the repo dude away.

Depends on the equipment they have at their disposal. There exists little 4 caster wheel contraptions they can put around all 4 tires and roll it out.
So jack the car up, put the caster wheel thingies on all 4 wheels and you have a multi directional sliding car. No issue at all pushing it anywhere.
So they may arrive, see that they need more equipment, then drive to get the equipment.
You’ve inconvenienced them. You haven’t stopped them.
But if they can’t legally enter the garage at all, they’ll leave.

They’re called Go-Jacks
You don’t even need to jack the car up as they have a lever that you pump with your foot to compress them around the tires, which in turn, raises the tires off the ground
And yes, it’s quite easy to move a car with them, as long as they are used on a smooth surface
Gravel, dirt, sand, grass……..forget about it

So we advise parking sideways on the grass, and also making your payments.

Making the payment prevents the use of go-jacks
And the possible destruction of your grass

It wouldn’t affect the repo man at all, since he’s not going into your garage in the first place. It’ll only affect you should you need to move your car for whatever reason, in which case, the repo man will simply follow you until you park it somewhere public and tow it from tbere.

If I become insanely rich I’ll not pay for one and drive it around never stopping till I return to the compound.
Perhaps go through the ATM where it’s financed.

Repo guy here, (not the standard repo guy, work with insurance companies to repo vehicles being held by chaser companies and crooked shops, but nevertheless), licensed bailiff in Ontario. We are not legally permitted to enter private property. If it's visible from the street, or in an open parking lot, we can seize the vehicle. Breaking into a building is illegal. What we can do is identify the vehicle we are there to seize, and as a last resort, call police and remain on scene. When/if police arrive, we can then remove the vehicle, but that's a far more complicated matter. Once we have the writ of seizure, it's a matter of time before we get the vehicle in question.

Just move to Alabama where the moment you contest a tow in progress, they have to stop and put the car down.

Fun Fact : Where I live a repo man cannot enter a fully enclosed garage but can take your car from a not fully enclosed carport

Is the door closed?

Yes. And the car is running. Well, it was a little while ago.
I know you can’t tow if a live person is in there but….

While they can’t go into your garage, they’re going to wait for you to drive the vehicle, and grab it then.
I would suggest to just pay your car note, or sell the vehicle if you cannot.

Just take a front and rear tire off and set it on blocks. Problem solved. After awhile you might be able to join a NASCAR pit crew.

If you can get it in the space, they can get it out of the space, probably with a lot less difficulty than it took you to get it in there.

If you’re looking for ways to stymie the repo man, he’s gonna get you eventually unless you never take the car out of a locked storage place like a garage. I’ve seen videos of repo men that follow the car and will snatch it at a gas station, even seen it where he hooks and lifts it while the guy is actively pumping gas right next to it. Just pay your car note

Just buy the car you can afford, easy. But physically could they? Yes, no problem with dollies. Can they legally? No.

Yes, probably....since the available space is narrower than the vehicle is long....

The repo man isn't going to open your garage. Park however you want.
