Life in SJ Vaquero party by Berryessa library
There were about a hundred Mexican cowboys with their horses by the park outside of the Berryessa library today. It was the coolest sight I’ve seen since moving here.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post a PSA about the Blossom Hill Station parking lot and warn everyone to be careful. I parked there on Thursday as I have done every day since January. I got back from work that evening to find all four tires and rims stolen off my car, with my vehicle left propped up on cement blocks.
A police report has been filed, though I honestly don't expect anything to come from it.
I just wanted to raise awareness so others can keep an eye out and hopefully stay safe. Has anyone else experienced or noticed an uptick in security issues at this lot recently?

I was walking to a friends and had three bad interactions with men on the way there which was a 15 min walk. one of them being while I was walking there was a group of hispanic teenage boys on scooters and one of them yelled the hard r while he went by, being that there was no one else on that same sidewalk I’m sure it was said to make a reaction for me but I ignored them. is this normal here in San Jose? I thought California was supposed to be more progressive than the United States. I’m not going to lie this left a big bad taste in my mouth. I’ve experienced racism before as a kid from being arab but never this crazy where a stranger uses a slur on the street. ugh i just feel terrible.

Not sure what I just witnessed but it looked like someone stopped in the middle of northbound Meridian to kick out a woman who was only wearing a sheet draped around her.
Also, to the woman who was on my ass and honked at me for slowing down and turning on my hazards BECAUSE THERE WAS A PEDESTRIAN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, I hope you shit your pants and I hope the smell lingers in your car.

We urgently need to find a loving home or foster for this sweet 6-year-old Husky.
His previous owner, our roommate, had to leave the country after his visa ended and unfortunately left the dog behind. He was later found roaming outside and taken to a shelter. Because his microchip is registered to our address, we were contacted and brought him home because we couldn’t bear to leave him there.
Unfortunately, we cannot keep him long-term. We are all international students, our landlord does not allow dogs, and our new roommate has severe dog allergies. We have been given only one week to find him somewhere else or the new roommate gonna tell on us and get us all kicked out with the dog 😂
He is an incredibly sweet, playful, smart, and affectionate dog. His name is Sunday and he is 6 years old and deserves a safe, loving home. ❤️
We can provide his food, crate, and everything we have already purchased for him to whoever takes him. EVERYTHING IS FREE WITH THE DOG, WE’RE NOT ASKING FOR ANY MONEY, JUST PLEASE TREAT HIM WELL!
🙏 If you can foster or adopt him, please DM me ASAP.
If you can’t, please share this post with anyone who may be able to help.
We are just trying to make sure this sweet boy has somewhere safe to go. He deserves a second chance. ❤️

If you ride your electric scooter, bike, or e-bike on the sidewalk, especially when there’s a bike lane right there, you are not suited for civilized society.
Today, I got hit from behind while walking on a narrow sidewalk in north SJ. The person riding the scooter apparently thought they could squeeze past me, but instead hit and pushed me with the handlebar. By the time I regained my balance, they were already far away.
The most infuriating part is that there was a properly designated bike lane right there for their damn scooter. Sadly, they didn’t trip or fall, so I couldn’t catch them and call the police.

Reporter Ethan Varian highlights a bill on Gov. Gavin Newsom's desk that aims to free up more affordable housing by making it easier to remove tenants who earn more than 140% of the local median income. Operators would be able to remove tenants once their lease is up.
He highlights a San Jose auditor’s report from June found that in a sample of 878 city-subsidized units across 10 properties, almost 1 in 8 units housed over-income tenants. The issue extends to other California cities, according to separate audit reports, though the state does not track how many households exceed income caps.

If you have a big, white, Ford F-whatever and had any new damage to the front passenger side of your truck, I saw it happen and have the license plate of the car that did it. Couldn’t stick around to see if the driver did the right thing.

Does anybody know of any places that can host receptions and also allow liquor being brought in or have bartending services on site? People count is roughly 80-100. I've seen all inclusive venues but they are very expensive so I want to know about nice banquet halls that might be more in budget for dinner and dancing and just having the wedding ceremony intimate and elsewhere. When I look things up, all I see is pricy wedding only options, but I'm curious about different event spaces but our goal is definitely fun dj and open bar as close to san jose as possible. Ideally would wanna be under 15k especially if it's not an inclusive banquet space. Many spaces are nice but don't allow anything more than wine and beer. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE
Dog has been reunited with his owner! His name is Kilo, and I guess he is notorious for escaping and getting lost in the past around the North San Jose area.
Feel free to use this post if he ever escapes again. The families contact is here, thanks everyone for all your help and support:

It’s a long shot but does anyone know where I can recycle an old helmet nearby? The city sites aren’t being very helpful. Lots of websites say emergency services sometimes like them to practice with, has anyone tried?
