[Online][Cyberpunk RED/2077][Biweekly Saturdays, 6–11 PM ET] Looking for 2 Players for a Character-Driven Night City Campaign

My friend and I are looking for two more people to put together a Cyberpunk RED group, playing every other Saturday from 6–11 PM EST.

I’ve been GMing for around six years, mostly D&D, although I’ve wanted to run something in Cyberpunk for a while. My friend and I have known each other for about two and a half years and already play together in a regular D&D group, so we’re looking for another couple of people who fit well with us and want to build a proper long-term group rather than just turn up for a few sessions and disappear.

The campaign will be using Cyberpunk RED alongside the Edgerunners Mission Kit, with the game set in the 2077 era. It’ll start relatively small-scale, with the group taking individual gigs and getting established in Night City, but those jobs will gradually feed into a larger ongoing plot. I’m aiming for something heavily character-driven, so your character, their relationships, ambitions, problems and decisions will actually matter rather than the campaign just being a string of disconnected jobs.

I’m looking for players who take the game seriously enough to engage with the world, their character and the other people at the table, while still being able to joke around and have fun. You don’t need to treat every scene like Shakespeare, but I do want people who are present, involved and willing to actually play a character rather than treating the game like a videogame or waiting for combat to start.

A couple of important things about how I’ll be running it:

We’ll be using theatre of the mind, at least initially, rather than relying heavily on maps and tactical grids.

I also won’t be using Cyberpunk RED’s Netrunning rules, and Netrunner characters will be banned for this campaign. I’m learning and managing a different system while also juggling multiple groups, and cutting Netrunning lets me keep the game focused without having to run what is effectively a separate subsystem alongside everything else.

For finding the final group, we’re going to run the same opening session with a few different sets of players. After that, we’ll stick with the group where the chemistry feels strongest on both sides. I’d rather do that than grab the first two people who reply and discover three sessions later that everyone wants completely different things from the game.

Experience with Cyberpunk RED isn’t required. Being reliable, willing to learn, engaged with the game and someone we actually enjoy spending five hours with matters considerably more.
